More Christians have been disillusioned by this issue than any other. There are parents who have stood by the bed of a sick child and in all sincerity and faith prayed and still lost that child. I don't know why God calls some people home. I lost my aunt to cancer that 43 yrs of age. We prayed and believed, but God still chose to take her home. And I have to leave that up to God's wisdom and in His hands.
It's time for "StanDupp" to "sit down." (Sorry... Couldn't resist.)

I think part of the error in thinking like his- and I may be mistaken in this- is that he views terminal illness or disabling illness always as punishment of sin and the pay of the somehow equal-to-God, omnipresent devil when in reality Jesus tells us we will have trials and tribulations (John 16:33) and crosses to bear; the interesting thing about being called home by God is that you are going home. You know, home where everything is finally perfect and there is no more death or disease or tears? In other words, a place infinitely better than here? Of course, death by itself is a bad thing because it is the wages of sin (Rom. 6:23) and suffering without God is purely hopeless. But suffering under God is not only an eventual requirement of a life of faith, but also a gracious gift that lets us learn more about God's character and know him more intimately, as gold is refined in the fire and the vinedresser prunes his good vines (John 15:1-2, Job 23:10 among many others). Suffering is a mark that God loves us and is getting to know us better, even though in the moment it by all means is very painful. Not saying that all suffering is from God- sins still have consequences. But we know that some of it is. And when it is sent by God, we can rejoice (James 1:2).

A view like Stan's, I think, betrays his heart: he believes illnesses are results of your own sin. What do illnesses do for a Christian but A. Bring you closer to home B. Bring you closer to God and C. Make life in this world harder? Only an unbeliever or a Christian who has never considered this before would see only C, because their minds are set on circumstances of the flesh and not on the spirit (Romans 5:8). And he has external "righteousness" to gain by pinning diseases and such to your own sins, as evidently God has not given him the gift of those sufferings, so by his logic he has not been punished and is therefore righteous and therefore "better" than all of us hopeless sinful wretches who have been punished>sinned (suffered).

But what youre missing is that the Bible never outlined clumsiness as a sin.

It never says being clumsy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit either.

Being clumsy is not something normal people celebrate as being a holy attribute.

What chapter and verse did the Lord promise "and thou shalt be clumsy" or "I anointeth thou with clumsiness"

This is not something that comes from the Lord no matter how one slices it.

Jesus may or may not have been clumsy at times

Jesus was never clumsy because he never once fell short of God's perfection... so He is not like you.

What the clumsy people should be doing is being like Jesus and stop being clumsy

I believe in healing. I don't know why a person doesn't always get healed. But blaming the person for the disease is ridiculous.

Blaming the Lord for their failure to receive healing is even more ridiculous than that.

This is gonna get messy!

Only for those not walking by faith based on God's Word.

There are parents who have stood by the bed of a sick child and in all sincerity and faith prayed and still lost that child.

Did God lie in His Word, or did these folks not walk in what God's Word teaches and instead were walking in assumption?

Most "christians" only give lip service unto the Lord as their hear is far from Him, especially those clinging to the teachings of their denomination or their religious cult they follow that claims to follow Jesus but seek to establish their own righteousness.

James 5:15
the prayer of faith shall save the sick

Mark 11:23-26
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Proverbs 1:22-33
How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Married, children, dogs or cats? God doesn't care whether you spill the milk or you don't. Has zero to do with salvation

I'm not the one celebrating falling down, breaking things etc , etc.

I'm simply pointing out this sort of thing does not come from the Lord.

I never said this would send someone to hell, but it will cause problems for people doing this and it will cause problem for those around them.

I sure hope these clumsy bumpkins aren't driving cars or in any position to handle machinery as they are going to get somebody killed or cause themselves to be killed or maimed.

Yeah, being clumsy is not something one should aspire to and celebrate as though it's a good thing because it's not.

These people are a problem going somewhere to happen and kinda sounds like some of them really should be institutionalized for their own safety and for the safety of innocent people around them

I had a friend who really was a wonderful person. He was an evangelist and he was Word of Faith. I believe in healing, I pray and believe, but God's ways are higher than mine and sometimes He takes people home. This friend simply wouldn't "claim" sickness. His wife became ill and passed and he had a real crisis of faith. But I cannot stand someone who blames the ill person. Illness is hard enough without people telling you you're the cause of it. Ridiculous.

I see so you think the Lord makes promises in His Word and then refuses to honor His Own Word?

That's what the devil does is claims God is a liar and does not honor His Word.

I would pay cash to be there when Stan gets his own terminal diagnosis.

It'll never happen!

Those listening to demons hope and desire for others to experience harm.

Thank you for letting us know who you are listening to and who you are allowing to lead you. waving4.gif

Romans 6:16
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

That's what you're claiming because you refuse to put God's Word IN yo mouth!

You seem stressed. Are you OK or do you need to be institutionalized again? View attachment 281525
Stan your little act here is getting old. Why do you get so much pleasure out of roleplaying yourself as the south end of a northbound donkey and being as rude and arrogant as possible? People who behave like you are the reason so many have experienced church hurt and left because of it. It's time to stop.

Some people refuse to accept the whole counsel of the Lord so they get mad and leave because they cannot stand anyone telling them the Truth of God's Word.

Stan your little act here is getting old.

You advocating for satan's lies instead of God's Word is getting old. Stop it! stop.gif

Your deceitful twisting of scripture and complete lack of any kind of empathy or brotherly love (Rom. 12:10) is less like "truth" and more like slander, lies, and ragebait. You are not speaking "the whole counsel of the Lord" and if you think you are then you think that you are either God himself or a prophet. I think you're just trying to hurt and spread division though.

You advocating for satan's lies instead of God's Word is getting old. Stop it!
You seem to say that a lot to what others say. Apparently you have confused the two. Perhaps you then worship both? But you know you can't serve two masters Stan. You know far too much about "satan's lies" for me not to think that you must be well versed in them.

Maybe someday God will show you the great grace of humility and conviction and you will turn from your wicked and foolish ways. I will be praying for you.

Projecting your own shortcomings upon others is a form of gaslighting.

1 Peter 5:6
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God

God's Word is Jesus Who is the Mighty Hand of God.

Grow up!

I'm not gonna waste time on a troll. I don't expect to see you here long.

That's your response to someone who said they are dealing with a loved one with dementia. I've got a picture of what I'm talking too. Understood.

Who said anything about that?

You are obviously a stressed out, troubled person.

I hope you can get some help. You definitely need it.

Some people take a long time to show themselves here, you didn't. Thanks, ignoring your ignorance up front is a whole lot easier.

@ThereRoseaLamb : Sister, who is this man, who is giving you such a hard time?!

I'd hardly call that a man. A sure sign is when they make their account information private. I'd guess someone trolling. They haven't said a civil word to a person here yet. Extremely immature. I hope he doesn't act that way in real life, what an awful testimony for the Gospel.

@ThereRoseaLamb : Yes, good point, sister! He really has no right to talk to people like that!

I hope you're OK.
