Making someone humble is God's job.

Knowing who is really being humble is His discernment.

But don't forget: GRACE was given to the elect in eternity -- long before anyone was experimentally humble. It appears that Christ's inherent humility is repugnant to you and cannot be the basis upon which God determined his elect's humility in eternity. His humility isn't good enough for YOU?

Were you humble or proud when you received Grace?

@Rufus ~~Both! Now go back and read my explanations with the intention of trying to understand what I wrote.

Thank you. I was feeling a little down from the other day when I learned I had been horribly wrong concerning Jericho. All this time I was under the impression it was about the omnipotence, judgment, and sovereignty of God. Imagine my dismay when I learned it was actually evangelistic outreach, complete with musical accompaniment.
even worse m imagine my dismay when I got told Clint east wasn't one of Joshua's commanders

Hey...don't you know that GOD IS LOVE! Therefore, God loves saints and sinners alike -- good and evil alike -- the holy angels and demons alike. I mean...if He didn't...He couldn't be God, right?

Funny how FWers totaly ignore the moral aspect to God's love.
Jesus did call Judas friend... so we know what to expect of others, I suppose. Ah, such a cruel world.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. The world cannot receive the Spirit of truth, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him.

Welcome to the thread.

Just wanna give ya a heads up that there are some FWers (freewillers) here who are huge fans of Adam -- even believing he's the human race's "superhero" according to one.

The Irony is The reformed/calvie/tulip theory ........Has Adam as their superhero.

Adam is their rockstar in condemning ALL/the many/the world.

But the Lord Jesus Christ comes in at a distant second with a dismal display to only some.

You are easy @Rufus, as are most of your antithesis of Grace crowd.......But there is a stealth Calvinist in our midst that is the counterfeit of His Grace....He is so close to the original, that it takes discernment to see his error.

You are easy peasy to see, like most of your co-harts.

Were you not at one time a part of the world?
Before your salvation?

lwhat about watching every move you make and every breath you take and every vow you make,

Unless I'm mistaking only God can do that m

Would you say it's a nice day for recognition.

And then he said i didn't think at the time how sinister it was ?
Do think it was sinister m if he never thought that at the time ?.

Was he replying to somebody who thought it was sinister m ?

He got up in the middle of the night and just wrote a whole song.

Any chance you could recognise that may have been a gift. Seeing as his other songs sing about God ?

I just wonder m have you sometimes not believed everything you said about yourself
Has sting ever stated that the song has anything to do with God's Word? ... or the verse you quoted?

.

Nope, you're wrong! See 2Thes 2:13; 1Pet 1:2-5. Pay careful attention to the word/phrase order of both passages. The sanctification process begins long before the new birth -- it's part of the God's drawing process.
God draws mankind to Himself through His lovingkindness ...

the gospel is preached ...

mankind either believes and receives the promised salvation ... or mankind suppresses the truth in unrighteousness and receives the consequence of no salvation (Romans 1:16-19)

sanctification is the ongoing process whereby God works within the born again believer to cleanse him or her from the filthiness of the flesh and of the world ... this is God working within the born again believer to conform him or her into the image of Christ ... this process will be completed when we shall be like Him when we see the Lord Jesus Christ as He is (1 John 3:2).

and I know you understand salvation differently than I do ... I just wanted to point out that sanctification is the ongoing process ... not salvation as you stated in your prior post. and sanctification begins once a person is born again. sanctification is not the same as the drawing.

you are free to disagree ...

Are you admitting that FWers have the brain of a third grader?

Matt 19:14
But Jesus said, “Leave the children alone, and do not forbid them to come to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

There is layered truth in this verse @BillyBob.

This is also an accountability verse. This is a warning for ALL.

Anyone who is not accountable(children/mentally impaired) are His. And they are safe in His hands.

Anyone who denies it......This is their warning.

Matthew 18:1-5

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked,
“Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them.
And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like
little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest
in the kingdom of heaven.
And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Jesus answered the question of who is to be the greatest in His kingdom.

Would you believe me if i said he has. you never believed me the last time

Let me ask you another question do you think a child of God would write lyrics about vows being broken.

I don't know about you but when do you call your own brother baby.

Is that when there a little baby.

Ok image this @reneweddaybyday there you are driving home and stings song on on the radio comes on,
Could you imagine people could think God is watching them,

Then when the message comes on he's watching every vow you break and claim you stake. Do you think people could take notice m.

And then could you imagine it's possible you could believe God could forgive you, because then you could imagine you belong to him 🤩 when he sings those lovely words to you m

How about this one m this one is actually my fav

Could you recognise this is about God to m,

The entirety of the bible is evangelistic in its very NATURE......The Lord Jesus Christ.

YOU KNOW, SALVATION.

After reading this thread, one doesn't have to "imagine" the calvies dismay of evangelism.

I was called out of the world. You know, being in the world but not of it.

And you? Are you still of the world? Or do you just dispute Scripture?

Matt 24:11-12
And many false prophets will rise up and mislead many people.
And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will become cold.

So...you believe God sent the army of Israel to Jericho to bring revival? Surely there would be some mention of God's intention in the scripture. Can you please point it out to me?
