So do you think the place where you are serving meals is feeding and harboring fugitive illegal migrants and helping them receive mail to help them hide?
No one is harboring fugitives. They are serving breakfast and dinner to anyone who walks in for free. There is no one stopping any ICE agents in our state from doing their job. Where do you come up with these baseless accusations?

That's a relief, It was a question ending with a question mark not an accusation ending with a period.

Contingency fund cannot be used when regular funding is shut down. It's the law.

Contingency Funds for SNAP During a Government Shutdown

Yes, federal contingency funds have been a major point of discussion and legal action regarding the continuation of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) during a government shutdown.

Here's a breakdown of the situation:

  • Legal Rulings: During a recent government shutdown, federal judges issued rulings ordering the administration to use emergency reserve funds—often referred to as contingency funds—to continue paying for SNAP benefits.

  • The Dispute: The administration had argued that the contingency funds were not legally available to cover regular benefits during a shutdown, claiming they were reserved for events like natural disasters. However, states and advocates argued that the funds were specifically intended by Congress to keep the program running in the event of a funding lapse.

  • Contingency Fund Purpose: The courts and advocates pointed to the existence of these multi-year contingency funds as evidence of Congressional intent for SNAP operations to continue even during a federal government shutdown.

  • Impact: While the contingency funds are substantial (in the billions of dollars), they might not be enough to cover a full month's worth of benefits for all recipients.

In short, there is a legal and statutory argument that federal contingency funds can and must be used to fund SNAP benefits during a government shutdown, an argument that has been recently supported by federal court orders.

Check out the disclaimer at the head of the page for the Food and Nutrition Service of the USDA (which largely handles the SNAP program).

Senate Democrats have now voted 13 times to not fund the food stamp program, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Bottom line, the well has run dry. At this time, there will be no benefits issued November 01. We are approaching an inflection point for Senate Democrats. They can continue to hold out for healthcare for illegal aliens and gender mutilation procedures or reopen the government so mothers, babies, and the most vulnerable among us can receive critical nutrition assistance.

So when all the Hillbillies and all the Hood go to look up the USDA tomorrow when they don't get their SNAP benefits they're going to read this just so you know. On one hand congratulations for uniting these two groups of people that usually don't have much in common. On the other hand though, you probably shouldn't try to gaslight for the democrats and alien invaders since they are now the common enemy of the People.

Trump stands up to the wicked and calls for the "nuclear option", the end to the filibuster and a straight simple majority vote to end the democrat shutdown and restore SNAP benefits and other social services to the American people.

This stood out to me, how many have made it a way of life, not a temporary help.-

SNAP beneficiaries have expressed outrage on social media over the government shutdown that could affect their grocery benefits starting next month, and some are even threatening to ransack stores if food stamp payments don’t go through starting Nov. 1.
"It is the taxpayer’s responsibility to take care of my kids," one emotional mother said in a video posted online. "It is the taxpayer's job to pay for my kids to eat and for my kids to be taken care of."
The same woman also complained about how none of her TikTok followers had sent her money, warning she would block anyone who viewed her videos without sending cash.

I agree it should have never become a way of life. In Texas they actually endorse it by creating a low worker wage environment by keeping the minimum wage at 7.25 an hour which means most any family working a forty a week job is on SNAP. This draws businesses from out of state to Texas to take advantage of low employee wages and tax exemptions because they hired someone on SNAP and so they ask if you are during your interview. The low wage jobs are in the less populated counties and are mostly Republican and the higher wage jobs are in the larger cities but are Democratic strongholds(Houston,Austin,Dallas ect.). Texas unemployment rate is 4.1% which is good so most people do have full time jobs but 3.5 million Texans are on SNAP because they make low wages. I cant stand the big cities in Texas they are chaotic Democratic strongholds so I live in a less populated Southeast Texas county which means I made lower wages my whole life and have always been on SNAP even now that I am retired(1,400.00 a month S.S.) which means we still are on SNAP. Trump should look at the less populated Texas counties that are where he won the most Republican votes and stop pretending those Democrats making 35.00 an hour and don't qualify for SNAP are sucking up the food stamps they made our way of life before he stumbles and falls.

This is a good one showing why Texas stays at 7.25 minimum wage, the businesses get between 1.200-9,600 dollars every time they hire someone on SNAP. https://www.rockerbox.tech/resources/what-is-wotc-program/

My point is that those who have lived in the USA their whole lives, worked and paid into SS with returns at a disgustingly low rate of ROI are receiving a third in retirement benefits as those illegal and legal non-citizens are receiving every year from SNAP, housing assistance, healthcare, and welfare every month.
These non citizens have contributed nothing to this nation....but to receive 3X-6X the benefits every month in monetary form? That is NOT how a representative government should operate. Look, I'm generally a generous person. I give of myself and my finances to MANY charitable organizations already. But the whole SS scam is beyond what I'm willing to tolerate.

Politicians have an obligation to represent the best interests of the people of their nation, not line their pockets or work towards getting re-elected. Not represent foreigners who want to protest our treatment of Iran or Palestinians in a violent fashion...or even just install sharia law.

That's unacceptable......cut them off from immigrating, cut them off from social welfare benefits. Give the veterans and CITIZEN retirees their due return on investment.

And if people wish to win Darwin awards by living off of candy bars, potato chips and beer? Not my problem.

There exists a HUGE shortage of low skill workforce in the USA. Because the money made by working is barely enough to cover the cost of going to the job to begin with.
A standard 40 hour job requires 10 trips in some form of transportation....usually not public transportation. Plus work clothing and maintenance of that clothing with occasional replacements. Plus extra calories (food) to feed the person who is burning more calories to perform their work. Plus most jobs require employees to maintain a phone.

All these things cost money....and total to more than what a person earns at these minimum wage jobs.
(Which is why the whole "return to office" has been a complete disaster.)

It actually is multiple times better in standard of living to be on public assistance than hold a job and pay taxes.

Higher minimum wage laws only increase costs....not an increased standard of living.

The Big beautiful Bill signed into law in July 2025 excludes non citizens from those benefits so they already don't qualify for any of this.

That's the way Texas has been for about thirty years now. We have a choice of living in the large cities that are Democratic chaotic zoo's with gangs running around everywhere where wages are higher or we live in the less populated counties that are Republican strongholds but pay far less. In the less populated counties you make 7.25 to about 11.50 an hour plus SNAP,Medicare ect. and so if you add it all together it's about 40,000.00 a year. Texas seemed to endorse this a few decades ago to get businesses to move to Texas and take advantage of low wage employees. This map shows the Red counties and Blue counties in the last election. The red counties are the lesser populated counties where a lot of people qualify for SNAP. It reminds me of when they ask Bush,Perot, and Clinton how much a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread was and they panicked because they didn't know.

Minimum wage jobs were never intended to be a career, but rather a stepping stone to other jobs after gaining experience. Teenagers used to do these jobs, but adults who have no initiative have taken them over.
