Christians used to do the same and were more barbaric, eg, burning people alive at the stake.
IDK some of the things done on Oct 7 were just as barbaric. Catholics used burning at the stake but I think Protestants got caught up in the same thing. Then the Crusades. I don't where people God the idea you could force someone to love and serve God. It's certainly not found in the Bible.
