best thing you've said all day.

Whilst your walking away think about this, that's if you can bare to give it some consideration.

Do you think Christians like talking about being totally depraved as much as you do ?.

And then ask yourself do you have any consideration for peoples. Friends.

Have a thought for the reason why people's friends are not talking to you,

Is it because you've told there Christian friend there totally depraved, you know when you said they where going to hell.

And whilst your walking away, have a thought whether God should talk to you for condemning a Christian to hell.

And have another thought for whether or not the devil is totally depraved as he also condemns Christians to hell

They were saved before they followed his teachings

They who were saved?
Were saved before they followed his teachings!

Give the Gospel!

All they had to do to become saved was what?

They said, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31

When I said the prayer while reading a tract?
I was a Jew.
I read it while walking down a hallway on my way to my next class.
I understood nothing about free will, nor the Deity of Christ!

And what happened?
I became very saved just the same.

You're arguing over a non-essential to growth and maturity in Christ!
What you are caught up in right now has been designed to be a distraction away from discovering Bible doctrine.
Bible doctrine that would set you free.

In Christ...

Have you even read what Finney believed? If people believed what he taught they were not saved, unless they repented, because it is not the gospel of Christ.

What is wrong with repentance??? Didn't Jesus preach "Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand!" John the Baptist preached it too. I also remember Jesus say to the woman who was caught fornicating, "Go and sin no more." Jesus seems to think repenting and not sinning anymore is important.

Repentance isn't salvation. If that was all Finney taught that would be fine, but he was teaching things like the blood of Jesus can't save anyone

oh well you must be talking about your emotions then, and you can't reason with them eh ?

I see ok, well it looks like your saying emotions just appear from no where and they are a part of your nature that you cant reason with,.does that mean you can't control them to, so when you cry do you cry forever

Ok so if you can't reason with your emotions then do you always stay angry, do you ever hide your emotions ( feelings)

Càn people always tell how your feeling

Are feelings and emotions different to you ?

So when your told your totally depraved how does that make you feel ?

Does it cause you any type of emotion or feeling

What are you on about? This has nothing to do with the topic of the thread so I am not continuing with your off topic meanderings.

Have a nice day.

I am having a nice day thanks for asking

So you have no feelings towards people being thought of as totally depraved, but yet you say it means a person is diseased ?

Tell me how that isn't a feeling ?

In spite of it?
If they believed in Jesus Christ?
They became saved!

It is God who is faithful....

Those whom the Holy Spirit was able to connect with them had to work out their salvation in fear and trembling.

I’m sure about this: that the One having begun a good work in you
will perfect it until the day of Christ—. Philippians 1:6

Keep in mind! Jesus warned that only a few of the many who become saved will find the Life Jesus came to give us.
Many will enter a broad and wide (being many denominations to choose from) road to destruction of their spiritual lives.

He will finish it in those whom He will find a humble heart.
Those who are correctable and teachable!

'All scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness...that the man of God might be mature thoroughly furnished
unto all good works'. 2 Timothy 3:16
Out of a million who get saved?

Maybe only a few thousand will actually mature in Christ. (few find it)

In Christ .....

No wonder the church is in the helpless, powerless state it's in with Christians justifying and even honoring a complete heretic like Finney, rather than condemning and disavowing him.

Who is honoring Finney?

The Church is in bad shape for one reason alone!

Here is the reason!
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.
Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number
of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 2 Timothy 4:3
Finny is only one of the many teachers that Paul warned about.
They are everywhere, and come in a million different flavors and colors.

Here is the KEY found in 2 Timothy 4:3!

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.
Very few good teachers are to be found.
Instead, many will be selling a product that they know people will naturally want to have for themselves

Who can teach sound doctrine today?

Sinful humanity retains the image of God or moral free will, so every normal adult soul is enabled by faith to choose to seek
salvation–or not (cf. Deut. 30:19). That is why Paul went “every Sabbath to the synagogue, trying to persuade Jews and Greeks”
(Acts 18:4)! “He witnessed to them from morning till evening, explaining about the kingdom of God, and from the Law of Moses
and from the Prophets he tried to persuade them about Jesus.” (Acts 28:23b) “Some were convinced by what he said, but others
would not believe.” (Acts 28:24) “They disagreed among themselves and began to leave after Paul made this final statement:
The Holy Spirit spoke the truth to your ancestors when he said through Isaiah the prophet, ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving, for this people’s heart has become calloused.'” (Acts 28:25-27a, cf. 2Tim. 3:7)

We can see that when the heart is “deceitful… and beyond cure” (Jer. 17:9) or when it becomes calloused (cf. Matt. 23:37) and does not seek salvation (cf. Matt. 7:7 & Heb. 11:6), such resistance to God’s enabling may be termed "total depravity". God does not pry open a hardened heart, nor does the day of salvation continue forever (Rom. 10:10-13, Heb. 3:12-19).

Rabbi Hillel's Golden Rule states, "What is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow:
This is the whole Torah; the rest is the explanation; go and learn."
This principle emphasizes treating others with kindness and respect,
forming a foundational ethical guideline in Judaism.

Jesus was perfectly teaching the true ways of Judaism!
He was a rabbi!
Jesus' rule was more gracious. Rather than not doing the evil to others you would not want done to you, it was actively doing the good you would want others to do to you.

They are not the same.

Not the same thing, but it's a corallary stating the same thing in another way. They both go together. Justice is treating others like you would want to be treated, which includes not doing to others things you don't want them doing to you. It's just another more complete way of looking at it.

Avoiding doing evil to someone is not the same as proactively doing good to them. If my enemy is hungry, I could choose not to attack him in his weakened state. But Jesus says, "Feed him." It's on a whole new level.

It's not exactly the same, yes, but the effect is exactly the same, ie, no sin against someone. One is better than the other, but both fulfill the law. Think about it from a practical standpoint instead of just a purest standpoint, which church people are so prone to do, and as a result nothing ever really gets done. Self-control is as much a part of the sanctification process as agape is. Once we, through the fear of God, gain control over our impulses, then agape begins to become an outward expression of our inward nature, rather than just being a fake outward show of love that accomplishes nothing of value.

And, the teachings of Jesus were yet having a powerful influence on United States citizens during WW2.

Looks like total propaganda. Photos were obviously staged. Coca-Cola was introduced into Germany 10 years before WWII started, so it wasn't something they didn't know about as the video claims.

Might be a mixture of facts and things added in to make the video run longer. Who knows?

WW2 prisoners of war were treated well by both the Americans and British.

On a personal note:

I used to work for a German chef. He told me one day what some German 'old timers' told him about American soldiers.

"They love to fight. But, they hated to kill."
