1 Corinthians 2
?
Romans 6 tells us the meaning of Baptism for the Christian.
John 5:24
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
If we are not Saved without having been Baptized, Paul failed in his mission to bring his Gospel.
1 Corinthians 1:14
I thank God that I (Paul) baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius,
As did Jesus in teaching the Good News but then failed to Save those whom were called if his Disciples Baptized people. when Jesus did not.
John 4
1When Jesus realized that the Pharisees were aware He
a was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John
2(although it was not Jesus who baptized, but His disciples),
3He left Judea and returned to Galilee.
Thinking we must be Baptized in order to be Saved is advocacy of a works based Salvation. Which contradicts Jesus and also 1 Corinthians 2.
I'm thinking you saying 1 Cor 2 tells us that there are Christians who was not baptized?
Can you be more specific
How can you be Christ like if your not like HIM?
JESUS was baptized to fulfil all rightness and received the Holy Ghost.
Romans 6 does,
Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
How can a person be reborn without dying with JESUS, it is very clear we are PLANTED with him and we raise with HIM.
Are you humble?
ALL of GOD'S word is good, but it all has to fit like a puzzle you can't leave pieces out and expect it to work.
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you,
He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
THESE ARE HIS WORDS,
Mark 16:16-17
16
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
IF you believe HIS words you will be baptized and YOU WILL BE SAVED, if you don't believe you will not be baptized and you will be DAMNED.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
THESE signs WILL FOLLOW. Meaning not that second but you will cast out devils and speak with new tongues.
Remember in Acts 2:1 JESUS told HIS disciples not to go out without it?
This happened.
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Peter said what happens when you are filled, just like what JESUS said in Mark 16:17
Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
1 Corinthians 1:14, SO WHAT Paul wasn't sent to baptize he was sent to preach.
Paul did in fact baptize and was baptized for remission of sins.
Yep, JESUS did not baptized either, HE also was sent to preach.
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
JESUS said
can't enter without being baptized or receive the Holy Ghost...................
THERE ARE HUNDREDS of cases like this.
Just like in John 3, JESUS gave specific insurrections to this men.
John 9:7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
IF HE DIDN'T OBEY WOULD HE HAVE GAIN HIS SIGHT?
Think about Abraham, how about the walls of Jericho?
If they didn't OBEY would anything have happened?
We are born in sin and the only way to get rid of it is being baptized in JESUS name.
Peter the one with the Keys to heaven knew what to do.
Acts 10:48 And
he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
Calling it a work?
As I said, Satan's plan keep them out of the water and if they get in the water keep JESUS name out of it.
Satan knows what happens in the water.
