Im wanting to add pink into my hair, not because I want attention but for self expression purposes. Kind of like how others wear makeup. My husband also has voiced He would like it.

I do not see any binle verses directly condeming it, but I know of many times the Bible addresses topics in narritive rather than in one simple verse.

How much self expression through clothing/makup/hair alterations/tattoos and or piercings can one do? We already know these things arent going with us and are temporary.

I do not personally want tattoos, I got some from my sister's boyfriend and I already regret it lol. Ones a bible verse he wrote the wrong tense on. Its close enough that I am....less grieved.

There is nothing wrong with it I think it is fine to dye your hair

I don't think there is a problem, Biblically speaking. I would caution that when adding an unnatural color to the hair, more often than not the result isn't positive. Occasionally I see where it has been well done and looks good. The color you use will need to work with you.

No, but it might be wrong to kill your hare.
I advise enjoying your natural hair color until it turns gray and thins,
then get a pink and chartreuse wig if you want.

You are correct: there is non biblical injunction against dying your hair. You're fine to dye or add a splash of colour to your hair, especially if your husband is good with it. It's easy enough to change if you don't like it. :)

I'm old fashioned and I dislike tatts and piercings. However, it was quite normal in the OT to have a nose ring and jewelry. Isaiah 3 talks about God removing jewelry because of the pride of Israeli women. Ezekiel 16 relates how God used jewelry to beautify Jerusalem, allegorical no doubt. I was surprised when I read these things, I must confess.

Tattoos are expensive and hard to remove. Hair colour is fine. Make up? Why not? As a good ole Southern Baptist said, "if the barn needs painting, paint the barn". Some preachers wear make up because it looks better on video. Unless God specifically forbids it, perhaps because pride is involved, I don't see a problem.

As all of these lovely people have said, I see no problem with it. I am *actually* thinking about getting some highlights in my hair, for a couple of years, bc I think it would look cool. *although I'm sure a good number of others wouldn't agree.* too bad I dont live for them

I think it is fine unless you are trying to hide your age and come across as younger. However, if you want to dye your hair because it looks more attractive or as a form of expression, then I think it is fine.

"Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear—but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very ." 1 Peter 3:3-4

1Ti 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1Ti 2:10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

1Pe 3:3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
1Pe 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
1Pe 3:5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves.

1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1Co 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

God said do not adorn the outward appearance but adorn the inner self with a meek and quiet spirit.

If God is the Creator and created us the way He wanted us to be why would a person dye their hair, get piercings, and get tattoos.

They were not born that way which how we are born is how God wants people to be.

Is somebody saying they can improve on God's creation work.

That they have to jazz up their body cosmetically because God made people boring and plain.

We were not created to be a canvas, or billboard.

What does self expression mean when we are not to adorn the outside but the inside.

Would we go to Church and paint it how we want when the preacher is unaware, and paint daffy duck, and bugs bunny, and skull and crossbones, and decorate it how we want without permission.

And change the place to look like a worldly place instead of the Church of God.

Why would we do that to our bodies if our bodies are the temple of the Lord.

God had a specific way He wanted the temple to be constructed and look.

Would it be alright for the priests to altar it to their liking.

Are wigs ok for people who want straight hair for a change? Wig purchases are widespread and helping the economy and I don't see women/men giving them up as evil objects👩‍🦱👩🙌

I most certainly believe that all, and specifically women in regards to 1Ti 2:9 should focus on their inner Character rather than outer shell. If I do dye my hair, I certainly will not be spending much time with styling, not to say that even wrong if priorities are set in place. I do believe that I focus much attention on following Christ and his lead.

I certainly can not improve on Gods creation, but I can take what he has given me and responsibly do what I want with it within the confines of scripture. Or at least id like to think.

I certainly think that we should have respect for what we would consider consecrated by God.

I think that the Church building is far different than the Church as believers. Though I do think we should be mindful of how we treat ourselves, others, and our lives/diets and clothing. Though this i would say that the things that we should follow strictly are those which are stated in the scripture, while we can then interpret the rest as a matter of conscious.

I do respect your views though, and I highly appreciate these scripture. I do not interpret them as ridgedly as you, and as this is not a salvivic matter, Id say thats okay! We dont all agree on everything.

Also sorry for bad typing/ grammar ive never had a good eye for things of such. I try to notice them, but I always miss at least a few mistakes :,)

It wouldn't be wrong to add color unless the reason for doing it represents some type of sin.

Nothing sinful about dying your hair. If there was, Peter Popov is doomed .
