It is not obvious to those who do such things,
but apparently you walk on a different path from where God leads me,
because on mine it is obvious that God cares about such things.
What I mean is, God wants us to be Heavenly minded. There are all kinds of crusades and “causes” that we can get involved in. A lot of these causes are “good”. But has God really called you to spend all your time and energy doing this? Jesus went from one place of prayer to the next, and did miracles in between. I’m pretty sure there was a lot of other “good” causes He could’ve gotten involved in at the time.

I may have been a little judgemental in what I said. If you feel that God is telling you to do that, then don’t listen to me. Just because God hasn’t told me to do it, doesn’t mean you haven’t. I apologize for being harsh and thickheaded. 😏

Jesus both worked and prayed, and so should his disciples.
Jesus prayed for God's will to be done both in heaven and on earth, and so should we.
John said Jesus DID get involved in a lot of other good causes, but he ran out of paper to record them (John 21:25).

I hope these truths will help you to adjust your judgement regarding what is trivial. Just because God hasn't told you to do it,
doesn't mean He won't, although there certainly are a lot of things that are a waste of time, which raises the interesting question whether affordable recreational activities are approved/okay/permissible/not sinful.

Perhaps Ecclesiastes 3:1 applies:
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time for prayer and a time for putting feet to prayer,
a time for doing good works and a time for trivial activities or play, (etc.).

What do you think about this thought?

Mmm. We have different walks. You’re right, we’re all going through different seasons.

Yes, but your feedback prompted me to add Ecclesiastes 3:1 to the Key OT Teachings thread and lesson in our website just now,
so thanks! Anything else?

I’m in a season similar to the Israelites at the Red Sea and/or Jonah in the belly of the whale. They weren’t concerned necessarily about trivial matters, even though there was probably a lot going on in other places. It doesn’t diminish these other things, but being involved in them or trying to apply mental energy to them is not going to help
me connect with God, or help me in my situation, or get breakthroughs for those I want to on see get saved and delivered.

Your first thought is incorrect, according to that Scripture. It doesn’t mean that he ran out of paper, it means that there wouldn’t be enough books/ paper in the world to contain/ write down everything.

-“And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.”
‭‭John‬ ‭21‬:‭25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Okay, so I made a bad joke.

I remember that the Lord busted several people out of prison in scripture.

so, there a time go to jail and a time to break out of jail? It would seem so.

This is not called joking, it’s misunderstanding what is written. Call it what it is….. Ok you made a mistake, we all do, no problem. 😇

Well, I thought it was a rather funny obviously intentional misunderstanding of what was written,
and I also suspect you have a poor sense of humor, but a lot of people do, so no problem.
So, why do you think John did not write more books about what Jesus did?

I have a great sense of humor, thank you!
If you read carefully what he wrote, it is because there were way too many things that He actually did.

.....
John said Jesus DID get involved in a lot of other good causes, .

John 21:25, “And there are also many other things that Jesus did"...(but he ran out of paper to record them)..."which
if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written."

Groan!

[Replay of a bad joke, akin to a pun :^]

Re being "heavenly minded", apply 1 John 4:20-21.

Understood. I am happily retired, so trivia matters more.

And so trivial matters such as justice on earth, just as in heaven, matter to me, mainly with reference to Jesus commending
prayer for God's will to be done on earth (in Matt. 6:10) and Paul saying God administers justice via governing authorities
(in Rom. 13:1-5). In order to discuss this issue properly, a person must understand the logical fallacy called "false moral equivalence",
which is aptly illustrated by those who interpret Exodus 20:13 as prohibiting all killing, when the very next chapter commands capital punishment of murderers (Exo. 21:12-14), applying the moral principle of "life for life" (Exo. 21:23).

Applying it to current politics, punishing those Democrats who sought to enslave (or worse) their ideological opponents (mainly MAGA)
is righteous rather than committing the sin of vengeance. Two wrongs do not make a right. So, the question is, "What is the right way to prevent being captured and persecuted by atheist Marxists?"

Is Trump's Justice Department accomplishing justice appropriately?
