There are at least 3 notable characteristics of godly teachers:
...like Jesus, they begin first to do, and then to teach...
...they speak as someone having authority...
...the exercise discernment...

How do you think you are doing in these areas?

You forgot to add what they teach is true. :)

There is only one "Elect" Who was foreordained before the foundation of the World. Those who believe are not "elect" until they believe.

"God doesn't give grace to the proud" and you claim God has graced you ... yet you have the audacity to add words to Scripture... then when your error is pointed out, you respond with prideful name-calling ... smh

a worthy endeavor you should follow ...
.

As usual you have your soteriology backwards. God's chosen people were elected long before time began, and they come to saving faith precisely because God predestined them in eternity.

And I don't add any words to scripture. Quit lying about me. Don't you know God hates liars!?

That would only result in allowing the Quran to be taught as well!

That should be mandatory as long as it was done truthfully and alongside scripture. It would show it up for what it is, a piecemeal work of literature that makes no historical, philosophical or spiritual sense.

The offering of the Lord Jesus Christ is/was/will be sufficient to propitiate the sin of all mankind from days of Adam/Eve to present and into the future. God is fully satisfied with His Son's sacrifice.

Why then are not all "reconciled"? Do you understand the word "reconciled"?

Romans 5:8-10 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

The word "reconciled" in Rom 5:10 is translated from the Greek word katallássō which means decisively change, as when two parties reconcile when coming ("changing") to the same position.

God (the Party of the first part) established His eternal purpose in eternity past ... and He reconciled Himself to mankind through the death of His Son.

The believer (the party of the second part) is reconciled at the time he/she believes (therefore being justified by faith – Rom 5:1 ... justified by His blood – Rom 5:9). At that point, the person "changed" his or her position and is reconciled to God ... both parties (God and the believer) came to the same position (both God and the person are reconciled ... i.e. Greek katallássō).

Those who reject God even as He reaches out to them are not reconciled to God ... not because God has not provided all that is necessary for them to be reconciled, but because they reject that which God has provided for them to be reconciled to God.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the reconciliation ... there is no other way.

Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is reconciliation to God.

If a person rejects the Lord Jesus Christ ... who is the Way, the Truth, the Life ... there is no reconciliation with God because the party of the second part is not in agreement with God (the Party of the first part).
.
Great post! Thanks.

What the reformed/calvie/tulip theory folks overlook is the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ reconciled the world to Himself. He propitiated the Father and the Father is completely satisfied concerning His judgement and wrath against sin.....For ALL of mankind.

God reconciled the world to Himself and will not deal with mankind through wrath and judgment for sin. He will deal with mankind through the life and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. He made ALL of mankind "savable."

Unbelievable that this is considered evil by the reformed crowd!

Here's what the verse says, Rufus:

Genesis 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil

there's also

Romans 2:14-15 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another)

so mankind can know good. mankind does not always have to respond as you and some other portray mankind ...

non responsive ... redirection to talking points favored by you in your effort to not acknowledge what is plainly written in Scripture ... typical ...
.

Mankind knows the difference between good and evil. I never said differently. But what mankind doesn't know is God; for the world hates Him, hates his Son, hates wisdom, hates knowledge and loves the darkness unto death!

And thanks for confirming your ignorance of the Word. You don't have the first clue who the "us" is in Gen 3:22. Not surprised!

Just saying that I do not believe this door should be opened. Would you say the same if I told you that all teachers must be Calvinist?

Rufus said "Num 32:12 Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have [by Grace] wholly followed the LORD ."

rolleyes ... nice response from the (cough, cough) humble one.

Proverbs 30:5-6 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
.

Eisegesis is your schtick along with all other freewillers'. Did the Book of Proverbs teach you how to project your foibles and follies unto others?

How did you humble your natural man to receive His Grace?

I have explained this often. All grace comes through, in and by Christ, who himself was a meek, mild, lowly, humble servant of God AND also my Federal Head. Therefore, God sees all his elect as being as righteous, holy and good as Christ himself. How else could God see his chosen people since Jesus atoned for and forgave all the elect's sins?

While this is largely true, Paul had to correct Peter. And no one knows all truth.

Paul did not correct Peter in the sense Peter needed to learn a truth. Peter already knew he should make no distinction between Jew and Gentile but did it anyway. So it had nothing to do with "not knowing all truth".

There is a world of difference between teaching truths that are unknown to the people and rebuking a believer who knows better.

You don't see the sovereignty of God in the parable. While there are many points to be made from the parable, the sovereignty of the land owner to control and dispense of his abundance is quite clear.

It's not FWers favorite parable; for the land owner is far too powerful, sovereign, has too many rights and and can dispense with what is His according to his good pleasure.

That has been answered a thousand times .... Grace! It frees and enlightens the soul.
@Rufus has repeatedly said it was his humbleness, then he received Grace.

I still have not received an answer of how he humbled his natural man to receive Grace.

Nope that would make it by man's work through his intellectual abilities. Instead, it comes as a byproduct of salvation as a gift. And that too has been posted a thousand times.

[2Pe 1:1 KJV] 1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

Paul rebuked a believer who had forgotten a fundamental truth; so the end result was sin which is the same end result for those who are ignorant of the truth. As a matter of fact, Peter in his epistles acknowledged and understood the the critical importance of constantly reminding the saints of the truth!

That answer begs the question! How can anyone be free and enlightened by Grace before they receive it? Your answer presumes all mankind receives God's grace by default. But the condition for receiving grace is humility. Therefore, only God's elect in Christ receive grace due to His humility!

Really?? I have not seen that one. I guess "humble" is not a word I naturally associate with @Rufus ;)

I used to work with a Muslim, and we had some discussions about various things.
I asked him how he could know he pleases Allah.

His answer?
"I am so humble."

He thought he was.

Behavior is doctrine in action. Peter also admitted that some of what Paul said was difficult to understand. Doesn't sound like someone who understands all truth.
