What do you mean when strong feelings come up, and explore them with Gods guidance.

Are you talking about overcoming temptation with God's guidance or are you saying instead of masterbating to watching porn, you'll ask God if it's ok to do it to something less lustful and then relieve those desires.

If so are you sure that's God guiding you ?
Do you not have a spirit of disobedience in you that's been preventing you from being 100% perfect your whole life? Has it left you since you recognized it's there? How do you manage it?
Mine may not yours, and yours may not mine, but there are people like me. The nets that people lay to entagle others in guilt and shame are not righteous works. God has infinite understanding, and infinite power over everything, and certainly sees what I've done to resist and how I've taken myself to him.

Masturbation leads to addiction to porn. I dare you to find anyone engaged in masturbation who performs the act with pure Godly thoughts such as God's intention of sex for procreation or to show honor of body between married Man and woman.
What about the thousand years people were on the earth before the invention of the photograph? Did no one masturbate before that?

You didn't ask any questions?

I had overcome this sin though knowing I won't get married. I already stated that before. That's why I'm unashamed to say that the Holy Spirit had helped me be victorious over this sin! And all Christians have this ability because of the Holy Spirit! ☺️

If you're still masturbating, it's because this sin has enslaved you and you don't want to give it up to obey and please God.

🙏

Hi 2ndTimeIsTheCharm. I congratulate you on overcoming. In order to learn from you, I have threee questions that come to mind: 1) Are you male or female? 2) What is your age? and 3) How did you know that you won't get married? I'm not trying to be intrusive, I'm just trying to understand the whole picture.

I've never seen such arguing fo an "all" allowance for this sin by so many.
The next thing you know all secret sin will be allowable because no one sees it.
I believe that's why our morals in this country has fallen to the levels of today. We have those who want to continue to justify what is not of God. Such as stealing. some will try to justify "well he needed to feed his family when in fact he didn't steal just a loaf of bread, he stole high price items and so them on the internet"..or lying to someone.."Well it's ok to lie to spare someone's feelings" blah blah blah..

Probably, but their focus while masturbating was someone that they came in contact with, not someone that they couldn't possibly ever come in contact with. That is why Jesus said that lusting after a woman has committed adultery in his heart. One of the Ten Commandments states that you cannot covet thy neighbor's wife. That is what adultery is, sexual relation with a married person.

I'm female. I don't want give my exact age away, but I'm from the Gen-X cohort. I've known it since I got saved and read up on marriage. There are many responsibilities to it and I really thought about it and there were so many factors against for me (just for me - not for anybody else = people should marry if that's what they want).

1. I like my freedom too much. Every time I had a boyfriend, we had to hang out EVERY DAY. So I feel like I have to drop everything and attend to them. It got annoying after a while....

2. If I did get married, I would have been too distracted to live for God. As you know, this whole world is getting worse in a lot of ways. I would have been so worried about my children and my marriage to give God all the attention He would want from me.

3. I learned that if God wants His child to overcome a habitual sin, He will work in that person and make it easy to do so through the Holy Spirit. Overall it gets easier to say no and resist the temptation and sin through Him!

There are times when I feel like satan is seriously attacking me out of nowhere by trying to introduce thoughts. It always starts there and that's where is should be stopped when it's easiest. If a sinful thought is entertained more and more than the harder it is to stop. So I always stop it there from going any further.

One of the reasons why I don't want to fall into that habitual sin is because I really got used to being close to God. I'm really happiest with Him - no sin can compare to Him! And that is also the reason why I'm not married. There aren't many guys like Jesus and the ones who are awesome like Him are already married!

i can't imagine how someone just masturbates "lusting" of a fictitious entity. Reminder, we find in the bible that any kind of lust is not God's way.

2nd-
Not a mystery at all when we find we prefer to be with Jesus in one on one relationship over people, please make sure you are walking out His instructions.
I know here I can spend time in the prayer closet and then He will guide to go out and do His will, I trust you do as well.

Hi 2ndTime. I admire that you are a woman who is true to herself and I agree with you on marriage. Many people get married for the wrong reasons. My ex wanted to get away from her domineering parents and I just wanted a family and the sex that came with marriage was the cherry on the top. I myself was a slave of the flesh. I prayed to God for his help and finally, He blessed me with ED. I no longer look at a woman as a potential sex object, but as a potential sister in Christ. For me, I love my non-arousal state of being and thank God for it, and pray to Him to maintain this state of non-arousal. However, when the arousal state surfaces, it interferes with my thinking and time. The only way that I can get rid of it and get back to my normal non-arousal state (which is what I prefer) is to masturbate focusing on women whom I will never get to meet. My only intent is to get out of that arousal state by getting rid of its cause. Never does any sexual inclination occur with anyone I come in contact with. I do not occupy my time with sexual thoughts. I thank God that I am no longer a slave of the flesh but of God. Just curious. I know that when women experience menopause, their libido wanes. Again, not to intrude, but did menopause for you affect your libido to allow you to quit what you call this sin?

Certainly they did but this was way before television or photographs were even invented. So People had no screen to stare at and just relax their imagination and be fed images to your brain like is done now, lol. So they had better imaginations back in them days. Sometimes they had a very odd activity. It was going to a place called, going outside? (Lol)

I can't imagine raising kids who have never been camping. I had my two boys all over them rocky mountains hunting, fishing and having all sorts of fun. Things that Nintendo Baby may never get to experience.

What does this have to do with this thread?
I responded to another member who mentioned Clint Eastwood. Probably nothing in regard to the thread but rather a typical derail. Happens in most threads. Derails tend to lighten up the flow of conversation in any given thread.

No, I don't think it did. God just really works pretty effectively. I remember being emotionally cranky at times but I evened out over time. I was glad that I stopped getting periods. When I had them, there were times when i thought I'd pass out! Not cool when I was in a subway coming home from work.

I'm wrong for trying to justify this. It is a sin that one should aspire to stop doing.
I've started doing it since I was 10, and it became deeply rooted in my throughout my life afterward.
My circumstances surrounding it are very complicated. It's not something that could be helped by an armchair sermon.
You guys will see on JD that I didn't mean any harm.

hey com on don't worry I wouldn't worry to much.

Just move on now you never know you could fall in love and get married soon,

There probably isn't a single man in this world who hasn't done it

Lust is a sin that happens to us all at some point,

Stop beating yourself up, pray to God. Talk with him.
