Been living in relationship 65+ years.

Me too for 75+, thanks to being raised by Bible-believing parents.
Would you like to elaborate about the role revelation and the Holy Spirit had in your relationship through the years?

Not without taking it to Him first.
blessings

Okay, well He has already told me to share my testimony, so here it is:

I was raised by loving, Christian (Southern Baptist) parents, who were happily married for 70 years. I attended church regularly as a child, and about the age of eight I had enough courage to walk the aisle during an invitation and profess publicly my faith in Jesus by being baptized.

My personality was rather introverted as a teenager, so I discussed my beliefs only with a few close friends. When I was a senior in high school, my favorite teacher was a former preacher turned agnostic, and in my freshman year of college, the daughter of a missionary became an atheist. My ignorance of answers to questions asked by skeptics prompted me to read the entire Bible (NEB) making notes in the margins (which I repeated with three other versions over the years).

After college and military service I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where a professor of systematic theology, Dr. William Hendricks, stimulated my thinking, while I attended a satellite church that listened to tapes by R.B. Thieme, whose preaching was also systematic teaching. During this time I heard a debate on the radio between Christian evangelist Bob Harrington and atheist Madalyn Murray O’Hair. Although the exchange was quite humorous, I was chagrined to concede that the atheist won the debate on substance, and I determined to seek better replies to such questions and criticisms.

Years later as a military chaplain, I encountered the Atheist Community of Austin and offered to speak at one of their meetings. I also debated atheists on an online chat site for several years. Although I cannot claim to have converted anyone, the discussions helped hone my beliefs, which I published on a website, <truthseekersfellowship.com> in 2005. In 2018 and 2019 I self-published two booklets, The Best Belief and The Christian Creed, which are also on the website.

The following excerpts from “Love God with All Your Mind” by J.P. Moreland expresses my experience: “I used to be afraid of witnessing... I was rather defensive and nervous... But now I understand why I believe, and this has brought me both peace and a non-defensive boldness to witness to others.” (p.20) “Sunday School should be more effective in training believers how to think carefully about their faith. Training in apologetics should be a regular part of discipleship.” (p.26) “Our discipleship materials often leave Christian young people vulnerable to atheistic college professors.” (p.28) “The apostle Paul... reasoned with and tried to persuade people intelligently to accept Christ.” (p.30)

1 Peter 3:15b instructs Christians to “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have…” (share one’s testimony), which I have now done.

Over...

We can "read" about all our lives and not experience Him.

Jesus was clear most would have an outward form denying the power.
Just as we can go to church once a week and never know Him, and there are those who will do miracles in His name yet He knew them not.
best wishes:)(y):unsure::coffee:

I, can go to a hen house, and will never be a hen. I can go to McDonald's and never become a hamburger, I can go to Church and never be born again, anyone else? Believe God personally, see from God personally, this love and mercy for us all.
This, new life is a new born again life given from Father to us through Son as risen for us to love all, not a few, yet we all have troubles here on earth in this earthly life, de we not? Is it time to trust God Father and Son as it is done for us or not yet? How, then to love, regardless of what another has done or might do to us or others we happen to love more than others, do we love others more than others? Might be time to see from God Father's view through Son Jesus to us, how God and Son leveled the playing field for us all. Everyone being, now reconciled (Forgiven) (2 Cor 5:17-20) to God first by Son's done work of the cross first. Then risen, proven to the disciples in Acts and many others that saw him as risen as well. Then left to go home and Father came here in Spirit and Truth to save our souls. Reckon first born self as dead (Romans 6), daily to God to see the new life you are given by God, that will not stop. John 4:23-24
Love, God's Love overcame the world for us y'all, (1 Cor 13:4-7, 13). John 16:33, this was said by Jesus per John, before taken away and killed on that cross, before the new life in the resurrected Christ began
It is done for us to stand in belief to this done work for us all, and now love all in mercy and truth too, thank you Father, Daddy, PaPa

How can one, anyone say they love God, whom we do not see anymore physically and hate anyone we see? Yes incudes those that have abused us, since God loves us all and cleared the playing field first? I love all in God's truth for us all, why? Because God first loved us
1 John 4:17-19

Thank you, still learning daily new

John 3:12
Authorized (King James) Version

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

I see correlations, many
By Son as risen puts us all together in one accord. We can now communicate one to another in different languages. Amazing
I love this Joke
there were computers in the beginning? What?
Yeah, it began with two bites, and according to figuring things out it was an Apple. Apple computers, amazing.
Seeing the destroying of the Temple in AD 70, happened with Sampson, after captured and taken in and controlled by the Philistines then.
Seeing, where did the Hebrews get their weapons, when 3,000 got killed, might have been from the Egyptians, armor washing up on shore after getting drowned
Then in Acts I see 3,000 saved
God, truly is good all the time as good is God all the time
Thank you for all the posts, and sharing, I learn much standing in nevertheless less, not my will Lord, yours be done, not mine

Good joke based on Genesis 3!
Interesting comparison of numbers, although not based on Numbers.
Ditto thanks! It is fun to discuss GW with a friendly fellow truthseeker. :)

Welcome, as long as we each learn and stand in this done work of Son for us each, at least me, we can all get along and help one another in encouragement. What I see, when reading Epistles the entire Epistles, separating nothing by verses to say any point and misuse truth and get others to believe as I see, I see now is not well for my soul.
Like Ephesians, the whole letter without verses stopping me to think and get distracted in, as have many times in past and made my own thought(s) get in the way. No more, and for the whole story read it all in context.
I see, encouragement in the done work of Son, more so in terms of resurrection. Love from God is for us all. This Love I see as Unconditional
seeing God simply love us all, otherwise that cross would not have ever happened. Son would have stopped them, you think? I know, now, thanks to Father and risen Son for us all. This mercy is the greatest, thank you Father and Son.
Does this ever mean to take for granted this grace given us, not at all. That is why Corinthians got written to from Paul. God using Paul, Paul willing, I do not see God truly using anyone, unless one is willing to be used by God. Then God does God's love through us to all. As I have so many times been in the way, with my own thoughts.
Now seeing truth over the error of human flesh wanting to lead

Acts 1:1-5 says much to me, yet read it all, and trust to hear truth from God in reading sincerely and one hears the truth, not wanting to be a leader or a follower of any one else here on earth, (1 John 2:27) you think but Father himself in Daddy's Spirit and Truth for sure, who continues to love us all, regardless of what one has done or might do
Nothing can separate us from this love given us through Son, Nothing (Romans 8)

2 Corinthians 10:5

Authorized (King James) Version

5 casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
yet best to read the entire Chapter at least, really the entire Epistle and then see the whole of God's love and mercy for us all. Then one I see will willingly do as called to do. The same as Son did=, who took no credit to the self in doing anything he said or did, our turn

Yes, it is good to read GW in its entirety rather than for the purpose of picking fights with proof-texts.
I will point out that per Ephesians 2:8-9 God's love is unconditional but forgiveness is conditional upon repentance aka faith.
Thus, only foolish will called callousness in Matt. 13:14-15 and hardness of heart in Heb. 3:7-15 separates sinners from God.

Now, when he crossed that cross and went willingly to let it happen, without fighting back
How many sins did he take upon himself?
All, a few, none or for only those that repent and believe God in this done for them? My answer ALL! everyone!
Is it the shedding of blood that completes forgiveness or is there more to do, afterwords?

It is either done as he said it is finished in John 19:30, (read the entire Chapter please?) or it is not. is it? Did he do it?
Now, since there is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood, as made known in the first
testament, yearly sacrifice by the High Priest, year after year.
Could never please Father Dad, God as said in Hebrews 10. Now by Son has been done for us all, all are reconciled, forgiven through the done work of Son. 2 Cor 5:17-20)
Not, saved yet, by this done work of Son for us all. the only thing left is to believe Son is risen and ask Father for the gift of new life for each person personally, thank you Father!
The work needed under Law is completed in Son for us all to appreciate and not use it to take for granted as did the Corinthians at first.
Unconditionally God Father of Son forgave everyone first, by Son being willing to take our deserved death place. Everyone of us, not one person ever counted out as people do!
Time to believe God, not me, self or anyone else, thanks and be freed, not needing anything, having new life in God's Spirit and Truth now leading over the first born self, that in selfishness still does it, claiming belief in God and not being born again yet!
Not under Law anymore, yet holding up Law as good.
the new person Father makes new in Father's Spirit and Truth leading them. the self is reckoned dead and see humbly new, thank you

Okay, I added the list of roles of the Holy Spirit to Part VI of the website lesson, which will serve as a summary.
Thanks again.

That's plagerism. As I already stated that is not my list. I gave credit to someone else. You should delete that post as you do not have permission from the originator to post it. It is copyrighted material.

Amazing, I hear no personal relationship personally, I hear intelligence, yet not personal
Do you believe the risen Jesus is your savior, your only way in with Father alone or not, thanks as we all grow in grace given to learn from

Who are you talking to?

The Holy Spirit is the vital and active third person of the Trinity. I did not compile the following list, but each notation is based on the scripture accompanying it.

Just so you know --you did say that you didn't compile the list but you never gave the Credit to the person and you should always post your source LINK so that people can check it out on their own

is this the source you got this from????????

I indicated that it was not my list.

Would you like kleenex? Give me an address and I'll send it to you. You are just continuing our disagreement from the other thread I posted. Get over it.

Yes, Jesus atoned for all sins, but faith is the condition for reaping that blessing.

Shame on you for posting it!
