The mark of the beast is something stuck under something and since it is given to a person it is stuck under their skin.
The New Age Christ's agenda is there is no personal God to help mankind but their technology can help them to deter crime, and have peace.
It is the system of people acknowledging there is no authority above them so when they take the mark then salvation is no longer available to them and God can end sin on earth.

Alice Bailey the biggest prophet of the new age who was a conservative Christian who adopted an occult interpretation of the Bible given to her by a Tibetan Monk.
She said there is an inner circle, and an outer circle, of the occult, and the inner circle is the true church.
Her husband Foster was a Freemason who agreed with her teachings which he is part of the inner circle of Freemasonry.

The esoteric meaning of Lucifer
There are comments on the World Wide Web claiming that the Lucis Trust was once called the Lucifer Trust.
Such was never the case.
However, for a brief period of two or three years in the early 1920’s, when Alice and Foster Bailey were beginning to publish the books published under her name, they named their fledgling publishing company “Lucifer Publishing Company”.
By 1925 the name was changed to Lucis Publishing Company and has remained so ever since.
Both “Lucifer” and “Lucis” come from the same word root, lucis being the Latin generative case meaning of light.
The Baileys' reasons for choosing the original name are not known to us, but we can only surmise that they, like the great teacher H.P. Blavatsky, for whom they had enormous respect, sought to elicit a deeper understanding of the sacrifice made by Lucifer.
Alice and Foster Bailey were serious students and teachers of Theosophy, a spiritual tradition which views Lucifer as one of the solar Angels, those advanced Beings Who Theosophy says descended (thus “the fall”) from Venus to our planet eons ago to bring the principle of mind to what was then animal-man.
In the theosophical perspective, the descent of these solar Angels was not a fall into sin or disgrace but rather an act of great sacrifice, as is suggested in the name “Lucifer” which means light-bearer.
It is common sense they will want the best system possible which technology can provide to control people all in the name of peace.
The New Age Christ will push the agenda of the new age for three and one half years before the mark is given.
All who believe in the new age will look at Lucifer as a god, and an alien, that gave mankind intelligence, and will cause them to evolve along with the New Age Christ.
The New Age Christ will say putting people in cities and giving them a microchip to track them all the time is the best way to have peace.
And no person can buy or sell without the chip so they will not want to get rid of it unless they want to be on the run.
But of course no person is going to want to get rid of the chip for their will of choice is gone.
Since they worshipped Lucifer and the beast and took the mark salvation is no longer available to them and they have the nature of a devil so no one will be rebellious against the beast's system.
The New Age Christ will trick them saying peace, and harmony, and there is no God to help them to get them to take the microchip going along with his system.
After they take the mark it really does not matter where they go for they will be in league with the beast and will not be rebellious.
The mark is better than a smart phone that can be tossed.

Lithium is commonly used in microchips, particularly in the form of lithium-ion batteries.
An implanted microchip with an exploding lithium battery could cause a grievous sore through a combination of severe burns, caustic chemical reactions, and physical trauma.
The resulting wound would be extremely painful and could lead to long-term scarring, nerve damage, or loss of a limb.
God will cause the microchip to bust open which will cause a grievous sore to them and put down the very system they trusted in to help them have peace.
The microchip is the mark of the beast for the mark will be something the New Age Christ can say to deter crime, and have peace, and a better world.
For he must appear as a savior type to stop the fighting, and to bring peace, and harmony, to the world.
The mark being a mark on the body or it is symbolic would not fit the agenda.
