It's true that every nation is working toward a cashless, digital monetary system.
I don't think the mark of the beast is merely symbolic though. I think it will be physical too - I just don't know in what final form yet because there's a variety of devices being development that can be used for the mark of the beast.
Ask Holy Spirit, walk out His guidance, we have not because we ask not.
There are two identifying signs with that mark of the beast, the name, or the number of the beast.
Revelation 13:17-18
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man;
and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.
You can't buy or sell without the mark.
The world will worship the beast.
The false prophet will force you to worship the beast.
The false prophet gives the image of the beast the power to speak.
The book of Revelation is highly symbolic and make of it what you will.
United Nations Agenda 21 for the 21st century which is known as Agenda 30 for the year 2030 when they want it implemented.
The full text of Agenda 21 was made public at the UN Conference on Environment and Development (Earth Summit), held in Rio de Janeiro on 13 June 1992, where 178 governments voted to adopt the program.
It is a sustainability act.
They want to move all people in to the cities, and no development can happen outside city limits, and the people are the police force.
They want to give the people a microchip under the skin linked to satellite like a GPS tracking system for humans.
They can watch the people, and know their location, and if a crime happens they will know who was in the area, and how close they were to the crime scene.
This will cut out judges, lawyers, and the now known police force.
All information about the person will be on the chip including finances for it is the one world economic system.

The mark of the beast is something stuck under something and since it is given to a person it is stuck under their skin.
The antichrist's agenda is there is no personal God to help mankind but their technology can help them to deter crime, and have peace.
The antichrist will be of the new age which is of the occult and the occult believes in the power of numbers and the timing, adding, and grouping of numbers which they believe will give them more power through nature.
6 is the number of a person, or the soul of a person, so the antichrist has the number 666, a triple 6, which he believes will give him more power to evolve to be spiritual, and establish his kingdom.
666 is the number that exalts people in the occult.
They want to convince the world if they embrace the number 666 they will have the power to evolve, and transform the world.

The nations will come together to work for peace which it will start off as a good thing as this chart suggests but then become chaotic.
Dan 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
That is because of the agenda of the new age which the antichrist will push the agenda of the new age which he will think to change times and laws.
God said their conscious is seared with a hot iron, they want population reduction, and chaos, and planned out for the world to fail at providing peace so the people will accept the antichrist to provide peace.
Which his agenda will be to place the people in cities and give them a microchip to keep track of them.
The microchip linked to satellite to deter crime is the mark of the beast.
He will claim there is no personal God to help mankind but it is all about people and their technology can provide peace.
I am undecided. But I know we will know when it comes, if it is in the future.
The best argument for it being a visible mark is that it is used to buy or sell, and if you walk into a store without a visible mark how can anyone know if you have it or not? I don't go to the store and yell "I BELIEVE JESUS IS LORD!".

The only times I can think when it is being used is when Jesus tells to buy gold from Him, or when the Proverbs say "Buy the truth, sell it not" but I think its a stretch to force that into the mark of the beast.

If we were talking about a literal mark, you could just hack the system by taking it on your left hand and buying and selling. In Scripture right hand often symbolizes doing something willfully, with authority and at will, sinning with a high hand, and forehead represents thoughts. A clue for this is how Israel was told to bind the law to their foreheads for example. They took this literally. But I think a case can be made that those who keep the beast's commandments and worship the beast have His mark. The mark of the beast does not have to be visible for a chip is in a debit card.
The hand or forehead can be scanned to make the purchase.
The mark of the beast is the microchip linked to satellite which is the beast's agenda to deter crime, and provide peace.
When they take the microchip they are denying there is a personal God to help them and go along with the beast's agenda to have peace for a better world.
See Revelation 13. It will be a man's name, his mark or the number of his name (666). So it will demonstrate a person's allegiance to this one man. It says they will receive the mark in their right hand or forehead. It won't be something that happens to a person without their knowledge; it will be intentional because they love the world and the things of the world more than God. What exact form it will take, a microchip, tattoo or something else is impossible to say until it happens. To me, it doesn't really matter, the main thing is don't do it.
There is nothing in the UN Agenda 2030 about microchips linked to satellites. I have read it.
It's also possible that 666 refers to the number of man in general rather than to the number of a specific man. There is no article before man in the Greek. IMO the 1st beast is a system, or economic dictatorship, or whatever you want to call it
But they will do it.
The New Urban Agenda.
The Chinese version of Agenda 21 should serve as a big, bold, blinking warning sign for America.
So-called “ghost cities” in China – newly built cities with buildings but few or no people — are reportedly part of the sustainable development plans outlined in the United Nations Agenda 21 initiative.
The Agenda 21 China plan included measures to move “tens of millions” of citizens away from rural areas and into brand new cities designed in an eco-friendly manner. Although the eco-city in Tianjin has received a modicum of success, many of the “green” structures in the Agenda 21 compliant urban area are still vacant, according to a report in The Guardian.
The Agenda 21 United Nations program is a voluntary, non-binding plan which is allegedly focused solely on sustainable development. Adopted by 178 countries in 1992, the plan is based upon a program to abolish poverty and protect “fragile environments” by “properly” managing cities. Some charge the program wants to push all citizens into cities.
America is a “signatory” country to Agenda 21. Since the plan is a non-binding statement and not a treaty, a vote on the initiative was not necessary. In the United States, more than 500 large and moderate-sized cities are members of an international sustainability organization that reportedly supports the implementation of Agenda 21.
In March China unveiled its new “urbanization plan” that included sections pertaining to both technical and social engineering. The China Agenda 21 plan reportedly indicates that more than 100 million rural residents will “be moved” into the eco-cities over the course of the next six years.
Such a scenario could never occur in America right? Yet critics of Agenda 21 say once someone becomes aware of the elements in the UN Agenda 21 initiative, it becomes evident that it may already be happening. News reports about infringement upon states’ rights and property rights, as well as mandates from the EPA, USDA, and FDA all could be seen as Agenda 21-driven.
I see the mark is anything that is independent from God, even those claiming God and using God to get stuff here and now on earth

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

In the book of Revelation the image of the beast is the focal point of worship.
It certainly appears that the first beast will be a man.
I think Paul's man of lawlessness is the false prophet in Revelation. I don't think a man will ascend out of the bottomless pit like the 1st beast will, whereas the 2nd beast (false prophet) arises from the earth
I think the first beast is the antichrist, a man, as you have said, and that he will arise from out of the EU. The EU will have it's upcoming elections this coming 2029 and he might be from among them.
