Made Alive in Christ
2 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.
Just another verse/s for some to mock and scoff at, pretending dead means physical death, so they talk of corpses and tell others
to go preach in cemeteries, and then they lie about conflating spiritual death with physical death. They have zero integrity.

I'm not sure the the heart of stone is refering to dust in which we where made up from.

You could have a point but we know the heart is flesh,

And we know that the lord says I will give a new heart of flesh but was that a new heart of flesh removing the dirt.

It's seem more logical the lord is rendering to a stone he has already placed in the heart of flesh.
Just saying man is made of dust of the earth. And our hearts as you say, we are born with hearts
of stone and they need to be replaced. It is one of the few places where flesh is not given a negative
connotation, to be given a heart of flesh. Same as leaven is most often used negatively, but not always.
For the flesh of the unregenerated man serves the law of sin and brings forth fruit unto death.
But FWers don't like verses like that. They claim they mean something other than what they say.
Which is why they rewrite 1 Cor 2:14... to make it fit what they were programmed to think.

:ROFL::LOL::ROFL:

Who knew using the factual Hebrew word and meaning for better clarification would end up with people preaching to buried coffins

Please answer the question: are there any scriptures that are not the things of the Spirit.
Also, is there any spiritual truth that is not included in the things of the Spirit?
What don't you understand?

The Lord Jesus Christ died for ALL. Sin is finished.

The Lord Jesus Christ was also........Jesus. 100% humanity. He related to humanity. He told humanity things from His humanity...

You fall flat on your face from the start.

Please, understand this.

Yes that's another reason why God could have placed a heart of stone in all mankind, because the flesh by nature would be quick to Misuse his word.

Remember the warning when God said be careful not to misuse my oracle ( message)

Not in the distributive sense, He won't. After all, no grace is given to the proud. AND...the gift of the Fear of God is only given to God's chosen, covenant people -- not to each and every person in the world. The upshot is: The Holy Spirit will indeed convict men (and women) that Christ purchased from every tribe, language, tongue and nation (Rev . IOW, ALL KINDS of people -- just as God promised Abraham to make him the father of a multitude of nations!
You are in the same boat as @Cameron143

The Lord Jesus Christ died for all. Sin is finished.

Your premise falls flat on its face from the start.

You have been taught the reformed theory well though. You have all the lingo and wording down pat. Good for you.

Biblically, you guys sound like "smart" fools.

Sugarcoating.png

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3 v 23). There is no one who does not sin (from 1 Kings 8 v 46). No one living is righteous before You (from Psalm 143 v 2). If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (1 John 1 v 8). Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” (John 8 v 34) And this is the verdict: The Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness rather than the Light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed (John 3 v 19-20). The heart is incurably wicked (Jeremiah 17 v 9). What is evil? Sin is evil. Stop sugar coating it. All men sin, and commit evil in the sight of God. There are none good, no, not one! A bad tree cannot bring forth good fruit.

“Why do you call Me good?” Jesus replied. “No one is good except God alone. Mark ch. 10 verse 18 and Luke ch. 18 verse 19 “There is only One who is good.” Matthew ch. 19 verse 17b. There is no one who does good. fr Psalm ch. 14. There is no one righteous, not even one. Romans ch. 3 verse 10. They are corrupt; their ways are vile. There is no one who does good. All have turned away, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. fr Psalm ch. 53 verses 1-3. Surely there is no righteous man on earth who does good and never sins. Ecclesiastes ch. 7 verse 20. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

I have shown you that the heart becomes hardened over time ... do you understand that truth?

Way back in Genesis 3, God tells us that mankind can know good and evil.

Have you studied what it means that mankind can know good? ... iow ... when God reaches out to mankind, mankind either believes or suppresses the truth in unrighteousness ... iow ... the "automatic" response to God reaching out does not always have to be rejection of truth. Have you studied that truth, Jordon?
.
are you saying by nature sometimes the the natural man will give a correct response ?

But sometimes is not good enough.

Just another verse/s for some to mock and scoff at, pretending dead means physical death, so they talk of corpses
Your side does this. You use a dead man( and he was saved/friend/child) as an example of why we cannot believe.

You can't see this?

It is simple. Equal privilege and equal opportunity for ALL.

It is truly sad that you and others fight this simple and clear truth.

John 3:16 Acts 16:31.

All unbelievers have the opportunity to be saved by the Lord Jesus Christ........This very simple and GREAT truth is what you fight against.

Shame on you and all who teach what you do.

are you saying by nature sometimes the the natural man will give a correct response ?

That man cannot even receive or comprehend the spiritual things of God. He is opposed to them.

And, hostile in his mind toward God. Scripture says so. The free willer disagrees.

Hebrews need the Spirit to understand scripture too.
Thankfully the Holy Ghost gave Ezekiel the exact Hebrew word and meaning to use so we are able to know what that Verse spiritually means.

Sadly, some think that Verse could mean people are walking around with a calcium and Lyme mineral build up that can be as hard as solid diamonds pumping blood through someone's veins.

A month ago, I did a two part series that totally destroyed a popular myth that God treats all men equally. In my 6738, I argued from the perspective of Special Revelation, providing several passages that refute this juvenile fantasy. And in my 6739, I argued from the angle of Natural Revelation (reality as we all know it) to show how God treats everyone on an individual basis that fits no fixed, paradigmatic mold whatsoever, except, of course, that God does all according to his own sovereign, perfect will which is never contingent upon any of His moral creatures.

Along this same line of reasoning, I showed from scripture that God does not give grace to all w/o exception because He bestows his grace only to the humble.

Likewise, God does not give his precious New Covenant gift of the Fear of the Lord to everyone on the planet since that promise was made to only God's chosen, covenant people.

Additionally, God never made a redemptive covenant with each and every person in the world. God's promise to Abraham is that He would make the patriarch the [spiritual] father of a multitude of nations.

Furthermore, God is the God of only the LIVING. God is not the God of the dead! In fact, at the end of this age at the general resurrection, the dead will be loathed by Him!

And of course, in Jn 17, we know that Jesus explicitly omitted the world (of which He is not a part) from his His Priestly Prayer. And this thought brings me to the reason for this particular post: Prayer! Yet, another fly in the poisonous, toxic, vile ointment of FWT is that this God who supposedly loves each and every person in the world w/o exception, who sent his Son to this planet to die for all w/o exception, and who treats every man, woman and child equally at all times under all circumstances does not hear the prayers of sinners that FWers allege he loves so much and sent his Son to atone for their sins. And this fact is another nail in the FWT coffin that implies that God is a big DEI advocate! That he treats all equally! (It's sad how much FWers have in common with God-hating liberals!) Anyway...here's a passage for all to consider:

John 9:31
31 "We know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing, and does His will, He hears him.
NASB

Notice once again how critically important and indispensable is this gracious New Covenant gift of the Fear of of God . God hears the prayers of those who Fear Him and do His will! Obviously, the Lord has determined in eternity past to turn a deaf ear to the prayers of sinners, while simultaneously determining to favor God-fearers with his attention, his ear, his compassion, his mercy, his grace -- and above all else his unfailing covenantal, filial love which moves him to act with such kindness to his people. And this love He explicitly lavishes upon those who are righteous (Ps 146:8), who Fear Him (Ps 103: 11, 17) and who trust Him (Ps 32:10).

Everyone have a plesant evening....

Still, Not one verse......"Mankind cannot believe the Gospel that He sent to them."

False @Cameron143 as you well know by now. Still trying to keep that Calvinist zombie lie twitching huh?

Everybody here knows the real story on 1 Cor 2:14. Old news 1000 times over.
The text states DOES NOT RECEIVE - an act of personal volition.
The text does ***NOT*** state CANNOT RECEIVE - aka total inability

Strong's Greek: 1209. δέχομαι (dechomai) -- To receive, accept, welcome

1209 déxomaiproperly, to receive in a welcoming (receptive) way. 1209 (déxomai) is used of people welcoming God (His offers), like receiving and sharing in His salvation (1 Thes 2:13) and thoughts (Eph 6:17).

1209/dexomai ("warmly receptive, welcoming") means receive with "ready reception what is offered" (Vine, Unger, White, NT, 7), i.e. "welcome with appropriate reception" (Thayer).

[The personal element is emphasized with 1209 (déxomai) which accounts for it always being in the Greek middle voice. This stresses the high level of self-involvement (interest) involved with the "welcoming-receiving." 1209 (déxomai) occurs 59 times in the NT.]

Obviously you don't read well. The verse doesn't simply say he can't receive them, but neither can he know them. So whether you believe it's a matter of volition or not, the natural man couldn't know them even if he received them.

you asked

And I provided a link to a post which provides this information (red/bold not in original post):

and if we read what is written in 1 Cor 1 concerning the foolishness of preaching the gospel, 1 Cor 1:23 makes clear that only the Greeks considered the preaching of the cross as foolishness.
to the Jews the preaching of the cross was a stumblingblock because they require a sign (1 Cor 1:22) ...
to the Greeks it was foolishness because they seek man's wisdom (the wisdom of words of 1 Cor 1:17; and the wisdom of the wise of 1 Cor 1:19)
Clearly, the Jews understood and rejected – they wanted the Messiah Who has yet to come ... they were not interested in the Messiah Who came as the Lamb of God ... they want the conquering King. ... and some of them are still waiting, while other Jews have embraced the Lord Jesus Christ as Messiah .
The Greeks understood and rejected – in Acts 17 they mocked Paul when they heard of the resurrection of the dead (Acts 17:32). Scripture does not say they do not understand ... they understand and mockingly believe the gospel is foolishness.

they (who) consider it foolishness because (why) ...

and now you ask a plethora of questions with no regard to the answers already provided ... slow your roll and consider what answers have been provided and go from there.

If you want to discuss why the gospel is rejected we can discuss that ...

if you want to discuss the weightier matters revealed in 1 Cor 2:6-14 we can discuss that ...

what I am not going to do is fold the gospel into 1 Cor 2:14 ... you are free to do so, but we have gone over what is written in 1 Cor 2:6-14 many times. When you are ready to discuss 1 Cor 2:6-14 further, let me know.
.
Why do you change the verse. It says it is foolishness to those who are perishing. That's anyone who isn't saved. That's who the verse includes. You guys are the best dancers I have ever met.

all Scripture is God breathed (2 Tim 3:16).

Some Scripture is understood (even by natural man) without having to research the Hebrew or the Greek or to whom God was speaking or the culture of the time, etc., etc.

Words are to be understood in light of the verse within which they are placed, verses of Scripture are to be understood in light of the context within which they are placed, the context is to be understood in light of the book within which the context is set, immediate context is to be understood in light of remoter context.

There is more to Scripture than ripping a verse from the context and holding it up as a proof text to support dogma. We are to bring dogma to Scripture and where dogma is in error, let go of the error.

Some Scripture is understood without having to dig deeper ... the gospel ... the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures ... the Lord Jesus Christ was raised from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures ...

Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Belief of the gospel of Christ, which is the power of God to those who believe, is the first step. Then we are to feed on the milk of the Word until we are spiritually mature to the point where we can feed on the meat of the Word.

Instead of holding up 1 Cor 2:14 as a proof text that no Scripture can be understood ... at the very least read from 1 Cor 2:6 where Paul transitions from the milk of the Word to the meat of the Word. We've gone over the context many times ... you know it and I know it. you reject what I believe and I do not consider the gospel to be in view in 1 Cor 2:14. I believe the gospel is spoken of in the verses prior to 1 Cor 2:6.

And you and your friends can deny this truth, but just because I believe that is what Scripture reveals does not mean I "reject Scripture" ... or that I "believe foolishness" ... or that I am "rewriting 1 Cor 2:14 because I NEED it to fit any per-programmed way of thinking".

I actually believe it is those who fold the gospel and the milk of the Word into 1 Cor 2:14 are the ones who "rewrite Scripture" because they "NEED it to fit their per-programmed way of thinking".

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
.
Just yes or no will do.

They are terrible dancers, horribly out of step with the rhythms of Scriptural Truth.
