Like the world goes around covering every miracle. They DO cover them....up.
Since the majority of the world is lost & ruled by Satan, what should we believe from them? I wouldn't believe them either way!
And who believes the church news?
Since everything done by the church is covered up, your assessment is flawed.
You believe the physical supernatural manifestations of the New Testament are still active today???

At what point did the world start successfully covering them up?

What does this mean?

You seem to be using this in a all-encompassing manner. Am I correct?
If the words I, Me Mine, etc. are in our vocabulary, we aren't where we need to be.
We are no longer our own when we are in Him.
God never changes, He is the same, that is the truth of scripture.
The verse says it plainly, too plain to miss.
best wishes

If yes, what is your Biblical and historical evidence?

If no, what is your Biblical and historical evidence?

Why are some spiritual gift lists longer than others and contain for example (music, singleness, apostle, craftsmanship, or deliverance/exorcisms)?

In the past, I have read some here that believe some of them are no longer being dispensed by the Holy Spirit. IMO, the Holy Spirit can and will dispense any or all of the Gifts listed in Scriptures as He deems it necessary.

Just because we do not see people with certain Gifts here in the US, or the "Modern World" does not mean they are not being dispensed to believers in 3rd world Nations, or Nations where Christianity is just taking hold.

No man can limit what Gifts the Holy Spirit dispenses. NO MAN!

If it is so clear then why not simply answer the question?

If you are applying "God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow" as to mean that God acts in a static form instead of the more Biblical dynamic form then you are wrong. God is dynamic and active, moving in different ways at different times at different places for different reasons.

And I praise Him for this.

I believe spiritual gifts will be manifest following the great tribulation period, in which time many will be cleansed from the trappings of this world, which we are all currently enslaved to.

Daniel 11:35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

God granted the gift of manna from heaven then ended it without notice.

Did God change?
God gave the manna and did not take it back. God gave the flock of birds and did not take them back. God gave water from the rock and did not take it back. The cessation of specific physical provision is fundamentally distinct from the operation of the Holy Spirit. There is no “consumable” measure of God.

Anyone ever see Don Swaggart preach on TV? I saw him once. In the middle of his preaching he startred in with the tongues. Seemed contrived to me. I do have family that are tongue talkers but ive never seen or done it so who knows? Ive read that some think Paul meant they would cease when scripture was complete others after His second coming. Interesting topic.

gifts and talents have to be defined.

Why don't you take all things to Him as He requires of you and all of us?
He will guide, speak and show all truth., IF you seek.

gifts and talents have to be defined.

Gifts are those that God has empowered from the wonders to even those in worship and music. For example, many are talented in music but not all are called to use it in worship. We make lists to try and sum up the gifts but in the totality of scripture we see God empower people in many different ways even giving some the craftsmanship to build.

To identify the calling it is a good start to look at talents and natural empowering as some are easily identifiable as for example leadership but only through discipleship will one know are they being enpowred by the Spirit. Is the calling and anointing upon them? Sometimes a character like the boy-David, will have the empowering of leadership before that individual even knows it or will admit the calling.

It is easier to suppress the calling because often times God wants us to grow and go into areas we would never go on our own.

That's probably the #1 reason. Leaders don't want to go where their predecessors didn't want to be responsible for.

Frankly, dipping my big toe into the pool. It's far easier to believe a miracle, if you witnessed it yourself. Or had a person who was trustworthy enough that you take their words as gospel.

I have heard of someone at a pool party hear a woman yell "My baby's in the pool!"

He dove in, rescued the child. Then found out, she couldn't speak a word of English. How? A mystery and miracle.

I don't know about people covering up or hiding miracles, but some people don't want to be in the spotlight. So I can understand them not being eager to run to the newspapers and tell their story.

Also of course you know that we have many unbelievers who will basically sneer, deride or shout you down for trying to speak about such, because of course they do not want to have anything to do with God, Jesus or the holy Spirit....

As Jesus did say, if you have the faith of a mustard seed you could move a mountain. Obviously a lot of people don't have that faith and in my belief is that that's why we don't see miracles hardly at all.

Of course the gifts can be active today.

"Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."

Again, all abilities are gifts, and all gifts employed to edify Christ's body are good/godly/spiritual,
and every spiritual gift you see active today is still active today.

Thus, the question should be: "What godly gifts do you see active today?"
