So, my mother has been buying all sorts of weird drinks that they have available at the liquor store lately that have ingredients I’m kinda familiar with but know nothing about.

Drink 1 has Lion’s Mane, which apparently is a mushroom to help you focus (that is currently in the drink that I’m drinking).
I don’t know much about Lion’s Mane or what “focus” means….i mean ADHD medication and cocaine can help you focus but doesn’t mean you should take it.

Drink 2 has Kava and Kratum…I personally have never heard of Kava before, so I am super skeptical. I’ve heard of Kratum before because my sister had me go get her some as she was having withdrawals from Heroin, before she was saved by Jesus in jail, then got married and had a baby. Not sure why it is in a beverage at a local liquor store. I’m not even sure if it is even safe.

If you guys know anything about these three ingredients, as I know nothing really about them.

I’m open to anyone who wants to share.

We threw out the apparently alcoholic kava Kratum seltzer.
Good plan. Gotta be careful with Kava Kava also because it is a central nervous system
depressant with psychoactive properties and can cause psychosis if overdone.

I'm wondering if "Drink #2" is this:

A few of the social commentary channels I listen to have been talking about this -- and how dangerous it is.

The recommended serving is apparently no more than one bottle in 24 hours (and apparently the bottles are only 2 ounces,) but people are becoming so addicted that they are drinking 10 bottles a day -- and losing their health, homes, and livelihoods along with it, just as with illicit drugs.

Kids are trying to pay adults to buy it for them. You might want to do a search on YouTube or TikTok about people who are succumbing to the same cycles of addiction and loss as those who take street drugs.

I'd also like to suggest being especially careful since you've mentioned already being on other medications. Have you mentioned any of these to your doctor?

I'm at a point where about all I drink is water, tea, and coffee -- and even then, you don't really know what you're getting, as every blend has different ingredients and amounts of caffeine (I've found that I am personally just as sensitive to ginger as caffeine.)

Keep us posted on what you find!

No but wow…that is the last thing that we need in this household.

My mother A LOT of the time doesn’t use her brain when she is shopping…she sees something and buys it (even telling me that she doesn’t even check the price…which is crazy to me). I have been doing my best to read nutrition facts but she doesn’t.

Sometimes I feel like I’m the parent.…a lot of the time I feel like she gave birth to me so she can kill me lol

Please pray for this household….i have noticed that the more I listen to the Bible on audio, everyone here listens and they grow in faith as well….so that is a blessing.

Audio Bible keeps the Word in us!
Kratom is ok, an opioid without being an opiate is what I have read.
sure kills dental pain and with opioids being harder to make use of, weird blood tests to see if you are taking it right. Someone has a life threatening illness, you prescribe a medicine to alleviate suffering , then you add hoops to jump through to keep the medicine.

That's good to have a family who listens to the Word.
Here's my favorite audio Bible.

Audio Bible Read by Alexander Scourby

My mother has selective hearing, so she has been hearing things such as “children should obey parents to have a long life” and such lol

If my dad lived here, maybe it would change his mind on not wanting to believe in God.

It’s kinda hard to not believe in God when His presence is always in the house, with his word going on.

Parents like to pull out that verse.
Lol. 😄

A lot of "Locals" make Kratom over here for pain. When used recreationally it causes problems. I was offered Kratom by a friend whose Son makes it here. I told them I have enough options for now.

Tougher here to kill chronic pain. The term "Making" it throws me, does it take preparation more than picking it, drying and such?
Here some sites indicate different varieties for different effect's, mood, pain relief, and such.
best wishes:):unsure::coffee:
