I don't understand how it worked,
On that we can agree.
You have Christ paying a temporal punishment for what you class as an eternal crime.
I don't understand how it worked,
If one is alive then he will indeed be saved from death at birth which is when he becomes conscious of that new life within him.
In a real sense, He did!
If you are disappointed in their typology.......just wait until you hear of their views on eschatology.
Go ahead........ask @Rufus ask @Cameron143 and see what you get.
And ask @Magenta on her views of annihilationism while you are at it.
I have often thought that those who preach and teach are very special in that way. It must be difficult to watch a sinner remain unmoved over a long period of time, even though we understand that all things are in God's hands. Why not!? Just because you felt deprived on knowing the secret things of God, you would nonchalantly disobey His revealed will?
For your info, I've heard similar stories told by Reformed believers. They remained faithful to God's revealed will and never gave a second thought as to whether a person was one of God's elect or not. In fact, they preached and taught with even more passion and zeal because they know that at the end of the day it's God who gives the increase! Reformed folks don't rely on their own strength, or creative gospel strategies. They just faithfully do what they were called to do and leave the rest up to God.

Unless you think the lake of fire is not everlasting, then Christ did not experience the lake of fire. There is no release from there ergo, the punishment for our sin was temporal, not eternal. However the punishment for rejecting the Lord God and His word is eternal.
Gods plan of salvation is the worst kept secret of all time. Intentionally so.470 pages of quoting verses back and forth on a topic that is something we shouldn't understand.

Or more accurately, God has given his elect their new hearts that He can fill with godly desires so that they will "choose for that". Man's will is driven by his desires which originate our our hearts, not our wills.
“Man has trouble understanding how 1) God is merciful and at the same time 2) God is just.Man has trouble understanding how 1) God is merciful and at the same time 2) God is just.
I must admit that this is a troubling concept for all men. But, the truth is that we often do not see things in the same way as God.
Therefore, it might be comforting/helpful for us to see that there is NO MAN who deserves mercy, for all have sinned! However, God is merciful in that He has chosen some to be His people. These people are no better or worse than others. But, they will receive His mercy.
At the same time, we have a just God who will not forgive the sins of those who are not chosen. It would be better had they not been born!
As we see this playing out in the world we live in, it is best that we remember and believe what God has told us: Rom 9:14-18
are we born again under the gospel of John? ... or are we born again under the gospel of the Christ which is the power of God unto salvation? So I ask you a question to better understand your position and you want me to answer the question.
My position is that a person is only born again once. At the time a person is born again, he or she is born again of Holy Spirit ... sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise until the day of redemption.Cameron143 said:How does that help me understand your position?
You believe they were born again believers ... I believe they were believers in John's gospel ...Cameron143 said:Besides, I already answered the question previously.
How can there be an "again" when there was never a first time?
It is a process of growing more and more into that reality.
3? Nothing in the Bible about this. I have read it cover to coverWell...if we can't understand the redemptive covenants, the gospel, the human condition, God's holy character and the three tiers of God's will, then what good is the rest of the bible going to do?
