As a fellow lifelong learner I am with you. We see so much changing at an exponential pace it would be hard to believe if we only read about it in a history book. Living that history provides a unique perspective, doesn't it?
I was trained in a Bible institute to believe the customary pretrib rapture theory popularized by the Scofield Reference Bibles given to all the Bible college and seminary students for a generation. Along with that I saw an apathy in the circles I was in. I witness people suffer from things beyond their control even now. For them, they go through tribulation. I now believe that Jesus will return after the Tribulation, and remove His people to safety as He pours out His wrath/ judgement upon the Christ rejecting earth.
Regardless of when the Great Tribulation begins, I think history teaches us about the tribulations that huge populations went through during wars, poverty and famines, slaughters by their own governments over the past hundred years. Then there's the multitudes suffering from medical treatments they think are going to help, not harm them. There's a poisoning of water food and air not to mention the many other issues.
All of that will be overshadowed by what is to come. Regardless, we must grow in grace and the knowledge of
our Savior Jesus Christ.< However we leave this world, we can return to His renewed creation and enjoy the rest of eternity.
