Do you respect the Word of God enough that you will always see to it that you do your very best to make sure that your every presentation of bible verses is done in the most clean-and-clear neat God-honoring manner possible?

Or, do you just throw it around carelessly as if it is not any more important or special than any other wording that you might put in your posts.

I have noticed that many on here are quite sloppy with their presentation of bible verses.

Why is that? Are you just lazy or what?

Why would you not want to make sure that book names along with chapter and verse numbers are always present and having the full correct spelling of names and properly positioned-and-spaced numbers?

A verse number should never be found jammed together with the verse text. Proper spacing is important to the cadence of reading the text.

And, if you do not see the importance of providing some kind of separation between bible verses and what you are saying - you need to do some critical self-examination. Seriously.

I cringe when I see people run bible verses and whatever they are saying together without any form of separation whatsoever. No putting comments about verses in parentheses. (Or, at least, offset by some reasonable means.) No line spacing. No anything. Just run together - one sentence is a bible verse and the next one is their added comments. And, the next one is a bible verse. Embedded comments with no indication that they are not part of what should be a reading of the Word of God. This should never occur.

How you present the Word of God in your posts tells me a lot about the true nature of your approach to the Word of God.

If the Word of God is really-and-truly special to you - you will always do your best to give it special treatment in your posts - making it "set apart" from everything else and "lifted up" above it.

When you throw it around like you copied-and-pasted it from a garbage dump - well - that says something about you... ;)

( Don't bother to try to "teach" me something from the Word of God if you cannot even present it properly in your posts. )

In the past I've tried to get people to understand this; with most, it's a futile effort. Some have never been taught how to present their ideas clearly; others, I think, do it for attention; and others simply can't help themselves for whatever reason. I finally had to start ignoring people who do this. Chaotic posts reflect a chaotic mind and are a bit unsettling.

Another trend that really irritates me is posting every sentence on a new line. I don't know who came up with this or where it started, but I can't read them, it's too aggravating and too hard to follow. It's like every new line is a new thought.

I think it reflects stream of consciouness thinking

IMO well-formatted posts are done as a courtesy to others to help minimize stumbling over words. I almost always italicise and indent scripture in a separate paragraph so the mind can automatically know at a glance what is scripture and what are my thoughts. I also remove verse numbers for each verse because IMO that disrupts the flow from sentence to sentence and introduces someone else's ideas of how scirpture should be read; instead I place them at the end of each passage so readers can know where they came from (easily done in the software I use). And I bold in each passage whatever in it supports the point(s) I am trying to make in my comments so readers at a glance can pick out the relevant info without having to read every word..

Yes Sir,

Respect is a good word to use, if we respect it we will keep our on opinion out of it period.

Why do so many people take HIS word and modified to suit their needs?

When we are warned against it!

Revelation 22:18-19
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

How many men have twisted HIS word and sill call it the Holy Bible, they don't know, if a man alerted it they are now following THAT man!

Respect, I myself can't even use a marker to highlight scripture in HIS word it's like Holy Ground to me. I have no issue with people who do, it's just me.

Where would we be if everyone respected it and OBEYED it?

We would be like the 120 in the upper room.

Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Why so many different denominations today?

If there was only one Satan would not have the foot hold on this earth as he does.

On the day of Pentecost HIS disciples were all brothers and sisters untied together with one thing on there mind, JESUS.

Acts 2: And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Respect NOT ONLY for the way we share it BUT RESPECT FOR THE WORD ITSELF.

What to respect it? Don't say something is true when it's not!

For instance I say, the only way to get rid of our sins is to be baptized in JESUS name.

Without backing that up with GOD'S word it's my opinion and my word not HIS.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Now we have established what I say was true if I could not it's a lie from Satan himself, and I would be held accountable for it.

We will be held accountable for EVERY word out of our mouth, I'm so confused why people just say what they like and can't back it up with HIS word and think they are not only going to Heaven but OK with JESUS.

Respect, we need to be humble as little children remember why Satan was kicked out of Heaven.

Pride.

Question are you ok, with how I did this.

I want thing to be simple and clear, I don't want to be disrespectful at all.

While I see your point and generally agree with you, I have to ask: where are these rules in Scripture?

In other words, what you have presented is a set of rules that you have developed for yourself and think everyone should follow them. You have nothing but your opinion to back it up. Even if you could cite a few sources in books, these rules would be the opinions of those authors and not Scripture.

Though you have framed this as a moral issue, it isn’t. The conclusions you draw about others are simply your own pride (or indignation) at work. You could, with equal authority, state that everyone should quote only the KJV… with predictable results.

"Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak." Colossians 4:2-4

"For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare for battle? So likewise you, unless you utter by the tongue words easy to understand, how will it be known what is spoken?" 1 Corinthians 14:8-9

I see, take care of my own board in my own eye, before trying to remove specks in others eye
Learning still, and understanding Luke 21:14-15, not always applying, willing though as Father knows, thanks for the post in your feelings of angst, hope you vented it to rest and not be upset over it now. For me I see God wants wha tis best for each person, and that be why God called for us each to have a personal relationship with God first, then one can see in love and mercy to all too, thank you

We use scripture as proof text more often than we do the actual word of God himself, so many can use his word as if they are using any other word with no regard and respect for it.
This causes us to cherry pick or twist his word not holding it in high regards and some even build entire doctrines out of a single picked verse it is shocking how easily the word of God is misused

Amen!

Nothing worse than chasing down a singled out Verse being used for a false doctrine. That when you find the location of that cherry picked Verse and read the Verses before and afterwards you clearly see it doesn't even remotely come close to how it's being used when all alone on Its own.

What do you mean by "the actual word of God?"

Prepare yourself you know it's a must, gotta have a friend in Jesus;

For me, daily learning new, as scripture(s) I thought I understood and found out, not at all, the mysterious ways of God, always works everything to the good for us al in there long haul

Okay, thanks for answering. His written word is His word though. It was inspired by the Holy Spirit and recorded for all generations.
Yes it is however when treated as mere copy and paste text that is when people start misusing it many even take it out of context in order to fit a narrative or a specific doctrine that they subscribe to.

Without any regard I have evem seen some use it as a aweapon against others
