God foreknowing people is Him seeing Himself in a relationship with believers. He is knowing them as opposed to not knowing them Matt.7:23 It is relational knowing like "I know my spouse". Omniscience and foreknowledge are two different "branches" of God's knowing. God knows who are believers and who are unbelievers from His omniscience. Election etc is predicated on His foreknowledge ergo, only believers are elected etc. Election is God choosing what to do with believers, it is not Him determining who will be a believer.

Actually the statement [only believers are elected] originated in a post by sawdust, see above. I accused you of saying this, and for that I apologize.

In 1 Cor 2 verse 14, the natural man, still unsaved, cannot comprehend the spiritual things of God. He does not understand Christ’s atoning sacrifice, for that is foolishness to him (1 Cor 1 verse 18). The Holy Spirit Himself must convict him of its reality, and of his standing before God (John 16 verses 7-11).So this natural man is unregenerated, one who does not have the Holy Spirit residing within him. As Jesus said, “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit” (John 3 verse 6).
 ... rip verses from the context in which the Author of Scripture has placed the verses and then re-writing Scripture is eisegesis ... no matter how much "bling" is included in the presentation.

Exegesis and eisegesis are two conflicting approaches in Bible study. Exegesis is the exposition or explanation of a text based on a careful, objective analysis. The word exegesis literally means “to lead out of.” That means that the interpreter is led to his conclusions by following the text.
The opposite approach to Scripture is eisegesis, which is the interpretation of a passage based on a subjective, non-analytical reading. The word eisegesis literally means “to lead into,” which means the interpreter injects his own ideas into the text, making it mean whatever he wants.
Obviously, only exegesis does justice to the text. Eisegesis is a mishandling of the text and often leads to a misinterpretation. Exegesis is concerned with discovering the true meaning of the text, respecting its grammar, syntax, and setting. Eisegesis is concerned only with making a point, even at the expense of the meaning of words.

Well.....at least I got "retort" right. I think.

re·tort
[rəˈtôrt]
verb
  1. say something in answer to a remark or accusation, typically in a sharp, angry, or wittily incisive manner:

............. Retort?

Datz what sum guy from Brooklyn callz a very dumb person.

I certainly try to be blind to the vile hatred you and Magenta have been spewing out but there comes a time when one has to stop trying to explain anything because one knows there is no thought for discussion behind such behaviour.

Have a nice Day :)

A wise move, it will not change.
It is impossible to persuade people whose mind is captured by eisegesis.

Know why it is called eisegesis?

Because the people who think that way, are this way.

I'm right!
Because...
Eisegesis!

And, you'z Agesis, too!

I confess I didn't understand what you were getting at. Are you saying unbelievers are elected as well?

2. God's anger burned against Adam so He unceremoniously drove him out from His Holy Presence (Gen 3:21-24)
4. Man's sins separate him from God (Isa 59:2).

A couple comments:

#2 There is no statement re: God's anger in those verses.

#4 What more needs be said (or conjectured) re: [spiritual] death?

What happens to man's spirit or man's spirit/soul is all theory and debate. Men cannot even agree on whether man was body, spirit, soul or body spirit/soul.

'Well, my pastor says' is a phrase Paul was rooting out of Christian infancy in 50 something AD.

He failed to do so.

Then men created digital social media.

The Great commission was to send Jesus' disciples into the whole world.
Sent to where?
To where no one had yet heard the name of Jesus and the Gospel.

Tell me?
Where today do we have what the great commission has not made known to men, the name of Jesus?
Even Muslims know the name of Jesus! They must distort it as to protect its own tyranny, but the name
of Jesus is known.... and certain Muslims get saved supernaturally in spite of the oppression.

Where is the Name yet to be made known in the world?

They succeeded!

Just because not everyone believes, does not mean the commission did not do its job of making known what men will reject!
You find Bibles all over the world written in the language of their own region.

It is crazy to think we are called today to go into the whole world to tell people about what they already know about.
Just because some choose to reject, does not mean the Name has not been made known.
Mainly today, it is from within themselves they are now to evangelize, to seek out those whom God made ready and want to believe.

In other words?

We need to learn to relax, and be still, knowing He is God...

And, take advantage of that knowledge to be taught more and more sound doctrinal teachings,
that will be provided by a few good men whom God ordained to teach sound doctrine from the foundation of the world.

Too many are chasing after what is not there, being distracted from seeing what God provided for us to be right where we are.

Pray in Jesus name that God will give you sound doctrine for every area of your life!

What the world needs if a Word of God revival.
Sound doctrine.
A reformation of the Reformation for corrections needed.

grace and peace ...........
Specifically it's to make Disciples and Baptize. Anyone around us qualifies for that.

Once

"For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse." -- Romans 1:19-20 ESV

So, God already made Himself known. To everyone.
Yes but those Verses speak about God leading and directing which only relates to those already saved and obeying the Will of God.

There's not a thing in the passages I quoted that qualifies those statements to pertain only to saved people. In fact, how do you get that out of texts like Act 4:23-28; Rom 9:14-18; Dan 5:23; Prov 21:1; Jer 10:23, etc.

You should pray really hard to God to DIRECT YOUR STEPS by correcting your overworked, overwrought, hyperactive, underpaid, darkened imagination. Most of those passages simply use the generic, commonly understood term "man" or "man's" (as in mankind['s]).

Pathetic try! (n)
God leading and directing the steps apply to those who follow God. You truly should sit in a Synagogue and listen to the proper translation of the Proverbs.

Actually, since the ANE culture and tradition was thoroughly patriarchal, the women had very little to say about who they would marry. That decision was made for them. Therefore, the subsequent Reformed Tradition of the Christian Faith aligns well with that ANE culture.
Not scriptural.
She definately had a say.

If you want examples today of what Jesus warned against in Matthew 7:21-23?

Look no further than Kenneth Copeland and Kenneth Hagin.

That's only a few of many.
Jesus said that there will be MANY in that day!

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but
the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will
say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in
your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to
them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
They are everywhere to be found.
Show me DIRECTLY anywhere Hagin is doctrinally incorrect.
Use a bible.
Not some haters opinion.

Anybody want to start a list of the accusations cast in our direction so far?

We have been called:
-"blasphemers"
-full of "BS"
-we believe "garbage"
-we "listen to Satan"
-we propound "inane straw man drivel"
-our opinions are "diaper fumes"
-@magenta called a wonderful top notch pastor "that old heretic"

There are many more of similar sentiment. Add to the list those that you have encountered if you feel obliged to do so.
I saw that.
I seem to fall into 2 unpopular classes here on the forum

Pretrib rapture= hated and called satan.
Free will = hated and called a blasphemer.

How do you figure God does not have anything to do with His desire to be united with those who belong to Him?

Seems an awfully odd thing to say. Bizarre, actually. And what do you mean by possible separation?

Are you one of those who teaches that salvation can be lost?

Those that turn from the faith ...what do you make of that?

EXACTLY like a wife leaves the husband (marriage covenant), or visa viz.

I 100% understand osas and the salvation covenant.
For anyone to break that covenant is foolish.

Jesus said If you deny me before men I will deny you before my father.

Ok, so what does osass make of that? You can just go ahead and do it because once you're saved you're always saved?

What does osas say of romans 11?
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.

20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off

I saw that.
