with long term results?

😣 I went to the doctor the other day with severe pain, and hardly able to walk due to an old injury, with hopes that they would say something along the lines of draining fluid from the area, and/or a brace, and/or some physical therapy etc.
Instead, (after an MRI) I was given the choices of cortisone shots (who knows how often or for how long) or surgery ( and due to weight requirements, and more so my own lack of aftercare/recovery support surgery is not an option for me at this time). I ended up taking a cortisone shot; which, while it has provided a lot of relief, I don't know how long it will last and certainly don't want to be taking them long term. Also, I've NEVER had an allergic reaction to anything in my life, but I did to this and that concerns me if having to take this continues long term.
I've used roll on glucosamine gel, and it's slightly helpful, but didn't last more than 2 hours ) and I certainly don't have time to stop and reapply every 2 hours).

Unfortunately the pain won't disappear but you can make it more manageable. Some people have found tens machines to be useful. Personally for bone/muscle pain I have found resistance bands and basic stretches beneficial.

Alternatively I know some people distract themselves from pain by using things like a rubber band on the wrist, or breathing techniques. It's important to find what works for you.

A good thing a lot of people with arthritis find helps is water aerobics or even just swimming.

Acupuncture is also beneficial for some people.

The worst thing you can do is nothing keep moving about as much as you can and maybe make small changes. Such as parking further from the store entrance each time you visit. Ibuprofen and paracetamol can be helpful in managing the pain.

All these things will help, take your choice: teas esp green & white, cod liver oil capsules, and believe it or not, lol, castor oil put on large bandages over the joints, penetrates and remedies. Check out Barbara O'Neill's research on this and many vids like this:

Turmeric with a little black pepper increases the effectiveness 20x.
He has always honored my prayer "pain be gone in Jesus name".
A knee brace helps me a lot to keep the worn out knee in line while I bike (stationary) and such, I was toughing it out and developed a spur, you don't want that.
I took the cortisone and waited for the insurance to approve this stuff made from the combs of roosters. This works really well.

These are pretty reasonably priced and they tend to stay up, which is a big blessing for me. The stitching is kind of cheesy, so I reinforces the stitching with E-1000 or GOOP brand, perchloroethylene flexible adhesive, and maybe some stitching.-
(having trouble getting you a picture of the braces on E-bay)

Some Topicals can relieve inflammation when there's a flare up. I had somehow reinjured my knee yesterday and had a hard time walking. I have a homemade ointment that works well as an antiseptic, natural deodorant and pain reliever.
I sat down and massaged it into my knee and leg. Afterwards it was better/ no pain.

I just did a consultation for a lady suffering from a major knee/ leg surgery. I recommended a container of Dead Sea Salt.
You fill a glass jar with water you want to dispense it in. Pour it into a stainless steel pan. Heat to a boil and add a few tablespoons of the Dead Sea salt or Magnesium Chloride crystals. Heat off and stir until dissolved. Then pour it in the bottle. Use a clean cloth to apply it to anywhere there's discomfort or tight muscles. Then tell me if it works better than the pain meds and antiinflammatories.

So, based on my quick google search, that's different from Epsom salt?

Yes.
Magnesium Chloride is in Dead Sea Salt, but you can buy pure MgCl too if you order it.
It is better absorbed through the skin than the sulfate form of Epsom salt. If someone wants to soak in bath water or feet, I recommended the cheaper epsom salt. To wipe / massage in, I recommended the Mg cloride/Dead Sea Salt form. It's much better.

I use it on everything except eyes or broken skin. It's salt, so rinse with pure water if it accidentally gets on a cut.

Yesterday I worked on clearing a tree in very hot weather. I had nothing to drink all day. When I finished, I had tight muscles, chest, headache and a charlie horse in my calf. I put a pinch in water and rubbed it into those areas and was fine. I continued drinking water with electrolytes throughout the evening.
The ER and hospital would be upset that I didn't call an ambulance and cheated them out of a customer.

Two more points.
I understand painful joints and desperation to get relief. I just decided to never get cortisone shots. The Drs know they lead to joint replacement amputations. I use that term because that's whate essential is done. They make it sound like an ingrown toenail procedure to sell you on the high dollar surgeries.

Instead of glucosamine cream, try to find a good quality glucosamine dietary supplement with HA/ hyaluronic acid. The HA provides the raw material for synovial fluid lubrication.
The glucosamine and other things provide what's necessary for cartilage repair. That only happens from the inside.

Now write this down on a shopping list and a journal and date it. Thank me later if you experience relief. It's literally worth it's weight in gold because the alternative would cost you an arm and a leg.

I was recently reading about the benefits of HA. Thanks for the confirmation/recommendation.

You are very welcome.
I love to hear of people who get relief. If you don't notice relief within 48 hours, let me know. There are possible reasons why correcting/ adjusting dose, etc might be necessary.
Last month I provided a consultation for a lady suffering from arthritic knees and hips for many months.
A few hours ago, she reported that she is feeling much better and sleeping well.

Physical therapy has been helping a lot, oh and that special KT tape they sometimes tape me up with (gotta get me some of the durable water proof kind so it will hold up in the pool better)

parsley, celery, lemon, the removal of white refined sugar & white flour in your diet, swiss chard, cherries & tart cherry juice. the last 2 are the best.
