Forgot to mention something about the last part of your post. I've found it very interesting that there does seem to be an "I" underlying discussions that relate to the spirit, soul, mind, heart, etc. I have to be focused on the study to best be picking it up. It could also be a rhetorical device.

Take our brain it is a blob of organic matter it is not alive it dosent think. It is the circuit bord if you will call it that. It is the electricity that fires between neurons that allows you body to function. It is the soul stearing the electricity. Like this. 1-2-1 left leg goes forward 1-3-1 right leg goes forward. Just to walk to the refrigerator and open a pop and take a drink requires billions of firings in just the right combination. That denotes a level of intelligence beyond human understanding existing right inside of every human being. Just the level of intelligence required to get a "stupid" person to walk into the restroom in time requires a higher intelligence than any human alive can function at. Its mind blowing haha.

The whole world refers to people out of every nation, tribe, kindred and tongue. If Jesus actually atoned for the sins of every person who will ever live, then God sentences people to hell for sins He has accepted payment for. God would not be just.

He atoned for all the sins in the world in the sence that every person alive just has to ask for forgiveness. Then they are forgiven. We know it dosent happen this way but if every single person repented for thier sins then every person would be saved. Once again we know that dosent happen. Only the believers or the elect reap the benefits to what his death did. But the offer went to all. Otherwise God would not be just.

Don't bother, they just tell you the "whole world" doesn't mean the "whole world". They never explain why it doesn't except maybe give some unrelated verse where world happens to be used in a limited sense.

Man's faculties didn't cease as a result of sin, they became corrupted. Man can still think and emote, but he does so differently than before sin. Man is able to live in the natural world. It is in the spiritual realm that he cannot operate well.

natural man "believes" truth as well as lies ... the atheist believes there is no God ... the pagan believes in many gods. natural man believes certain truths in Scripture "don't murder ... don't steal" etc., etc.

please replace the word "believes" with whatever word you think should be inserted in these examples.

I just looked at every mention of "world-kosmos" in 1John. A quick review of all 23 mentions seems clear that John only uses it there in reference to the unbelieving world and the place we are currently in.

Changing 1John2:2 would seem to make it the only time in 23 mentions in 17 verses that John would be applying it to believers.

Makes no sense. I'm only saying "seems" because I'm reviewing quickly.

No one is going to hell for their sins!
Why is that?
Jesus paid the penalty for all sins.

What will the condemned be judged for?

And I saw the dead, great and small, standing in the presence of the throne, and the books were opened; ​

and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged by those things which ​

were written in the books, according to their works."​

Rev 20:12​

No ones sins will be mentioned at the final judgment.

And, all unbelievers will be shown that their works all fell short of the righteousness that God requires of men.

That is why it says about salvation! "Not by works!"

He understands what the gospel is teaching, but he understands it as foolishness. Man hasn't lost his faculties. They have simply been corrupted.

We all know what HeIsHere says about special, direct, unique, divine revelation.

The question remains, though, is how does she even know she is a child of God without special, direct,
unique, divine revelation? And does that mean she is a cessationist, and denies all miracles? Do you
think she listens to people's personal testimonies and thinks wow, what a bunch of liars!???

When I was baptized, it was as part of a group of about six people at the end of an Alpha Course.

The church was large, and quite full of all the regular congregants who made a special trip to hear
everyone's personal testimony, no doubt encouraged to know God is still revealing Himself, working
in people's lives to save sinners.

Dichotomy = body and soul.

Trichotomy = body, soul, and human spirit.

All unbelievers are dichotomous.
No human spirit.
All believers are trichotomous.

And may the God of peace himself sanctify you in all things; ​

Its an idea of heart mind soul vs mind soul or soul vs spirit. Tri vs di.
Something about wether or not we still have 3 parts of us or 2 parts of us. I haven't looked into it enough to speak more than that about it.
