I don't believe there is any reference to pornography or sexual images in Bible, so then, maybe it is allowed. A similar word, fornication, is in the Bible. However this word is broad (vague) and means "sexual immorilty", it is unclear then if pornography/sexual images/videos are included under this team. With a lot of Christians believing masturbation is allowed, it is natural then to think that the most common aid to masturbation may also be allowed? What are people, especially singles, to do with the sexual urges? Thoughts? I always thought I knew the answer, but perhaps I am wrong?

As someone once wrote somewhere..... would you watch pornography with Jesus in the room?

I disagree about the Bible being silent on this. As many people will doubtless remind you during the course of this thread, the Bible specifically says that any guy who looks on a girl with lust in his heart has already committed adultery in his heart.

You could start with a site like the above if you're interested in what the bible says and means. Beyond that I think zooming your focus out to sinething like philipians 4:8 which tells you to think about things that are good, true, excellent and praiseworthy. Is there any room for porn in that command?

All things are lawful unto me but not helpful. in the same way its not helpful it can be harmful to us and our salvation. This whole debate has me feeling unsettled. It seems like some Christians don’t want to admit when something is sin anymore. Not to say they arnt saved but their definitely in the wrong and Promoting a wrong.

This is what my mom often quotes when this topic come up. Be angry, yet do not sin; on your bed, search your heart and be still. Selah Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. Psalm 4:4-5

Also this is what c.s Lewis said on the subject

"For me the real evil of masturbation would be that it takes an appetite which, in lawful use, leads the individual out of himself to complete (and correct) his own personality in that of another (and finally in children and even grandchildren) and turns it back; sends the man back into the prison of himself, there to keep a harem of imaginary brides. And this harem, once admitted, works against his ever getting out and really uniting with a real woman. For the harem is always accessible, always subservient, calls for no sacrifices or adjustments, and can be endowed with erotic and psychological attractions which no real woman can rival. Among those shadowy brides he is always adored, always the perfect lover; no demand is made on his unselfishness, no mortification ever imposed on his vanity. In the end, they become merely the medium through which he increasingly adores himself... Masturbation is to be avoided as all things are to be avoided which retard this process. The danger is that of coming to love the prison.”

Song of Solomon. The sexual references are guided toward marriage, with the intention of keeping these activities within marriage. As another poster commented, lust (desire for another man's wife), is explicitly condemned as adultery in the New Testament. If the intention is not marriage, the desire likely comes under lust. If the images are sexual (or pornographic) outside of marriage, I'd say the same applies.

Remember how the devil works? "Did God really say this?" Lust is specifically condemned. Pornography is designed to create lust. I certainly would not be trying to justify pornography (lust) by claiming masturbation is permitted - more the other way. If masturbation requires pornography, then it is as sinful as lust.

Jesus taught it is better to cut off what is causing one to sin, than keep that part and be cast into hell. I could go on here about some Old Testament laws and my thoughts, but I won't to keep it brief! :)

What are people, especially singles, to do with the sexual urges? Thoughts? I always thought I knew the answer, but perhaps I am wrong?
Marry and have children?

I'm not married so I gave my urges to God and He took them away! The Holy Spirit's power is quiet but it's been stronger than any of my habitual sins. I also stopped smoking this way too and haven't touched a cigarette in over 25 years!

Mat 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
Mat 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

1Jn 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

Pro 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
1Co 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1Co 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth.

The thought of sin is the same as the act and is not love.

First off, I agree with you.

That said, it is said that Solomon was the wisest man to ever live. I think I believe that too. Until I found out that Solomon had 700 Wives and 300 Concubines! How wise could that be? Lol! I guess he could afford it. Maybe women were different back then?!

Read the whole thing. Read the whole bible and you will see that their are plenty of clear written words stating the abomination of pornography.... the answer you are looking for is NO! pornography is not allowed and NO! masturbation is not allowed ! The struggle is very very real and not an easy one. But you can resist your sexual urges and you can definately keep your self from masturbating! i'm saying you can resist with experience in this area. Your sin is saying you cant, and its also saying your weaknesses unable as you feal the weakness! But Jesus says not only that you can but also commands us not to give into our carnality... Do yourself a hugh favor, dont listen to anyone calling masturbation natural because it is soooooooo unnatural. listen to Jesus and believe what he says over the world, your flesh, and the darkness! Make a stand against sexual immorality. All sexual acts outside of marriage is sin and UNNATURAL! this world has been lieing so much that a lot of people cant see the natural made GOOD human from the Unnatural fallen human... why? because all have been born in sin! Jesus is leading you out! listen to him!

Pornography is absolutely satanic, and destroys lives.
Think about the people who're producing that content. Think about the paths of depravity it pulls you into.
At best, you're treating another person like an object. At worst, you're conforming your sense of pleasure to something unnatural and shameful.
If a little child wouldn't dwell on it, neither should you.

What are people, especially singles, to do with the sexual urges? Thoughts?

Some people call it discipline, others call it being able to control yourself. Still other say it is about having some honor. It's not really that hard to do.

I was the youngest kid out of 4 of us, so I got to see all of my big brothers and sister get their girlfriends and boyfriends and see their interactions and hear all about those problems they were having and I was able to recognize, whoa I don't want to go through what so and so went through, leave those type girls alone. And I got picky about girls. And I discovered something after awhile, that in a way, it felt good to turn certain girls down. Not that I played them or made them feel bad, no it wasn't about that. More like, WHoa, I really dodged a bullet on that one! I wonder how much grief that saved me. I made a pact with myself when I was very young in the getting a girlfriend circuit. That each time I wound up breaking up with a GF of mine for whatever reason, to not downgrade or settle on the next one. (I seen a bunch of guys do that!) And I vowed to, get the better girl than the last one. And I pretty much stuck to it. I was blessed enough to be very handsome in my youth and the girls gave me plenty of attention so most times, I had my pick, and I was picky! But I digress...

But more to the spiritual reality of our life. Do you understand that there is no such thing as privacy on this planet and never has been for any one who was ever born? As near as as I can tell, we all have a small entourage with us at all times. The Lord Jesus is God and omnipresent. He is always there. Watching, looking into your heart, speaking to you and your conscience. Jesus is in the Father and the Father is in Him, so the Father is there with you too. We have been born again so have the Holy Spirit indwelling us at all times. Then we have at least one Guardian Angel with us, assigned to us, and lastly we always have what they call a Scribe Angel with us, recording what we say and do and so forth. So it's pretty crowded in y room right now...Do I want to Masturbate and pretend their not there? Put on a show for them? Man how disgusting that would be. I wouldn't do it. I don't do it.

It's an actual evil spirit too, the Spirit of Masturbation. When someone masturbates for the first time, it opens the door for the spirit of masturbation to enter, they just invited him in. The then evil spirit of masturbation puts pornographic thoughts and images into their mind to get them to masturbate more and pretty soon, even their wife or husband isn't enough to satisfy them, they want more and more and fall into a deeper depravity that does much harm to their soul and heart.

God tells us to basically do four things. Humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways. Is masturbation on the list to do or to stop?

2 Chronicles 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land..../KJV

There's your answer right there brother. Stop putting on a show. It sounds like it would be embarrassing?

im saying this out of love and a desire to protect you. Your desire to stay Holy and to honor God is admirable and indeed inspiring. I would like to caution you about speaking of things you did about spirits and naming them, especially demons! All demons are disarmed and rendered powerless by the works on the cross of calavary. it is written in colosians 2:15. The only one to fear is God himself when we follow Jesus because he is the on who disciplines us if we sin. Our adversary is satan . No demon can come against a born again believer. God has given us the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions to overcome all the power of the enemy, nothing shall harm us. Ive heard many people who believed satans lies and listened about spirit of this and spirit of that and its really just lies and nonsense. None of it is written in scripture and that is the only truth anyone should be speaking... peace be with you

Colossians 2:15

New International Version

15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.[

Asking if pornography is allowed is asking the wrong question. The real question is: Does it promote Godliness. If a person has to ask, what is Godliness, they clearly haven't spent enough time in God's word and prayer. I have an idea about what young people can do with there sexual urges, it's called self-control and you'll find it in your New Testament. People look everywhere but to God's own prescription.
