I thought it was about old granny's. Sorry.
Don't know what the subject is, but this post belongs in the Old Granny's thread FRFR.
OOOO you have studied MUCH more than I have, does that add to your pride?
What do you think of the Phairise who put JESUS on the cross?
ALL OF THAT WISDOM and what did JESUS call them?
Matthew 23:13-39
13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.
19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
21 And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
22 And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.
23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Pride a terrible thing.
Matthew 18:2-4
2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
HEARS THE PROBLEM, YOU, YOU, YOU CLAIM.
I "claim" GW teaches (in Romans 3:12-6:7) that Jesus "washed away" or atoned for all sins.
I claim Rev. 3:20, 1Cor. 12:13 and Rom. 8:9 indicate that sinners receive SB the moment they accept Jesus as Lord.
WHAT DOES HIS WORD CLAIM???
Acts 2:38-39
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
WHO'S RIGHT???
Paul explains about in a church setting. This brings me back to my original question, what is the function of Holy Ghost in todays church?
Paul explains about in a church setting.
1 Corinthians 14
King James Version
14 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
5 I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.
10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.
11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.
12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?
17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

WHO'S RIGHT???
No, but your ignorance of Eph. 4:11-5:20 adds to my persecution.
Don't project your pride onto me; re Acts 2:38-39, play pin-pong with yourself.
When I was filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues it changed my life.Cut n paste. Can YOU tell me the function of the Holy Ghost in todays church. What did being filled with the Holy Ghost accomplish for you? Do you speak in an unknown language and then have it interpreted? Do you have healing power like the Apostles? Do you see a burning bush? What is the function of the gift of the Holy Ghost in todays church or moreso, in you?
When I was filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues it changed my life.
I'm a hands on guy, if I don't see it I don't believe it or hard for me to do so.
I was sweating, eyes running, nose running WHAT WAS THAT?? JESUS IS ALIVE.
I have never spoke in tongues and had it interpreted in church but have seen it many times.
NOwhere does it say anyone spoke in unknown languages, only they heard in their own language.
1 Corinthians 14:2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
I have healed, but backslid repented and building my faith again, we are all a part of the body I work with my hand so I'm in charge of maintenance in our church.
What good is a church WITHOUT the Holy Ghost?
That is the problem today so many churches follow men, just say this prayer and your saved, baptism is for show, or saved by grace or faith alone, Paul preached a different message etc. ALL NOT BIBLE.
So we have man-made preachers who preach the above and we have JESUS disciple preachers who preach HIS word ONLY.
My testimony was not for you, I was sharing it with someone else. Thanks for sharing your own testimony instead of persecuting mine.
Our disagreement seems to stem from you being a hard-line Pentecostal,
whereas I am a non-denominational Christian, although I accept most Baptist beliefs other than OSAS.
My testimony was not for you, I was sharing it with someone else.
You and I don't have any disagreement, I share HIS word you share YOUR opinion so your disagreement is with JESUS not me.
The difference between our testimony's is your is all about YOU and what YOU DID, mine was ALL ABOUT JESUS and WHAT HE DID.
Your testimony is prideful and to boast about what you accomplished to impress who ever you can. As you can tell I wasn't one of them. You may be a GREAT guy, want to impress me share HIS WORD.
Mine is to make people look to JESUS DID and what HE CAN DO.
YOU can ONLY hear YOUR VOICE.
John 10:27-28
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
I followed a baptist preacher once, baptized in his titles and like you NEVER HEARD OF THE HOLY GHOST or how to be filled with it. THANK GOD he put someone in my life to show me HIS WORD.
Why am I here? To share HIS WORD all of it not just parts and keep my opinion OUT OF IT.
As I told you we have ONE GOD AND ONE BIBLE to follow, MEN do the dividing that is why there are so many different denominations and KJV knockoffs.
Why would you say I'm a pentecostal I never said that? You call me that FOR FOLLOWING HIS WORD??? For OBEYING and the same thing that happened to HIS disciple happen to me???
It's suppose to happen TO ALL.
I only refer to my self as a JESUS follower, everything I SAID IS BACK UP WITH HIS WORD.
EVERYTHING YOU SAY ends right there your opinion and your opinion only.
FYI, JESUS will be the one judging you with ALL of HIS RULE BOOK, he will not be asking what church do you go to, or what pastor do you follow.
He will not ask you if you have your own internet sight (which is leading people down the wide and broad path) or what man-made twist on HIS word you read and took notes.
He will be judging you by HIS RULE BOOK ONLY.
If you could swallow your pride and put man-made traditions and denomination's away and JUST OBEY HIS and HIS word you would be able to see.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot (SEE, SEE) see the kingdom of God.
Acts 2:38-39

A quick story, was at a baptist church in Georgia, app 10 men go together seeking the LORD, BAM GOD FILLED THEM WITH HIS SPIRIT!! FILLED THEM WITH THE HOLY GHOST and SPOKE IN TONGUES.
They told their pastor what happen with excitement, the pastor KICKED THEM OUT OF THE CHURCH.
Who do you think will be kicked out of Heaven, the 10 that were filled or the pastor who sent them away?
PLEASE, PLEASE Don't follow men, FOLLOW JESUS.
Nothing about hearing yourself talk? No, you just demonstrated that you follow the dogma of hard-line Pentecostal preachers, NOT GW.
Orthodox (soft) Pentecostals agree with other Protestants that Spirit-filling is manifested by loving fruit, NOT tongues.

TELL ME WHERE IS MY TESTIMONY IT FOLLOWS ANY MAN OR HIS OPINION...
Will you tell me today???
I was going to tell you, I will NOT answer any of you question until you start answering mine.Your church is not Pentecostal with a Pentecostal preacher?
I was going to tell you, I will NOT answer any of you question until you start answering mine.
I have been trying to get you to back up what comes out of your mouth with HIS WORD and you just don't, of course it's because you can't.
Of course I go to a Pentecostal church?
Not to many churches have JESUS disciples as leaders, like Peter the one who JESUS gave the KEYS to Heaven. Most are man-made preaching like you and the ones you follow.
Which are following HIS WORD and leading people to Heaven down the straight and narrow path, FOUNDATION is the key.
Why do you think I have been POUNDING YOU with questions of your statement which are simply not true? I've been trying to get you to look at HIS WORD and not your knowledge or those who taught you.
That is why I asked you why so many different denominations and twist on HIS word when there is ONLY ONE GOD and ONLY ONE BIBLE. Did you ever notice the one who change the KJV bible use the KJV bible as the foundation then modify what they wish to make it fit THEIR AGENDA?
Matthew 7:13-14
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
PEOPLE WHO CHANGE HIS WORD.
Revelation 22:18-19
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Do you change HIS WORD?
I have been answering your questions, but I suspect you are a tar baby,
because you ignore my testimony regarding independent study of GW in four translations,
rejecting the Baptist OSAS doctrine, being pleased that my initials are GW, etc.
So, I think YOU CHANGE GW, because you have not agreed with even the basic Gospel:
The normative way of stating the kerygma/GRFS in the NT is “Accept Christ Jesus as Lord” (as in 2Cor. 4:5 & Col. 2:6).
The main points of Christian orthodoxy implicit in this statement can be explained or elaborated as follows:
- There is a/one all-loving and just Lord or God (Deut. 6:4, John 3:16, 2Thes. 1:6), who is both able (2Tim. 1:12) and willing (1Tim. 2:3-4, Ezek. 33:11) to provide all morally accountable human beings salvation or heaven—a wonderful life full of love, joy and peace forever.
- Human beings are selfish or sinful (Rom. 3:23, 2Tim. 3:2-4, Col. 3:5), miserable (Gal. 5:19-21), and hopeless (Eph. 2:12) or hell-bound at the judgment (Matt. 23:33 & 25:46) when they reject God’s salvation (John 3:18, Rom. 2:5-11).
- Jesus is God’s Messiah/Christ and incarnate Son, the way that God has chosen (John 3:16, Acts 16:30-31, Phil. 2:9-11) of providing salvation by means of his atoning death on the cross for the payment of the penalty for the sins of humanity (Rom. 3:22-25 & 5:9-11), followed by his resurrection to reign in heaven (1Cor. 15:14-28).
- Thus, every person who hears the NT Gospel needs to repent and accept God’s justification in Jesus as Christ/Messiah the Lord or Supreme Commander (Luke 2:11, John 14:6, Acts 16:31), which means trying to obey His commandment to love one another (Matt. 22:37-40, John 13:35, Rom. 13:9)—forever (Matt. 10:22, Psa. 113:2).
- Then God’s Holy Spirit will establish a saving relationship with those who freely accept/love Him (Rev. 3:20) that will eventually achieve heaven when by means of persevering in learning Truth/God’s Word/sanctification everyone cooperates fully with His will (John 14:6, 17&26, Rom. 8:6-17, Gal. 6:7-9, Eph. 1:13-14, Heb. 10:36, 12:1, Jam. 1:2-4).
Do you ever tell the truth?
You post things that have nothing to do with my questions.
Why did you not tell me what I have to do to be reborn?
Why didn't you back up what you say that being water baptized in JESUS name to get rid of your sin was replaced with being spirit baptized.
"I am saying that Jesus, Paul and others state GRFS in dozens of different ways,"
I asked you,
If there are many ways for a person to be saved, how does one know how to do it?
Just say this prayer?
Save by grace?
Saved by faith?
Are we still born in sin?
If so do we need to get rid of our sins?
If we do how do we do that?
Peter message is very clear, but then it get SO CONFUSING.
So this verse is A LIE. 1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
How does a Jew get reborn today?
A Gentile?
A Samaritan?
If you answer can it be in detail and on subject PLEASE.
YOU DON'T ANSWER QUESTIONS, you did try with ONE trying to prove aking him in your heart was about him knocking on the door.
Just to keep things simple, a third grader could read and understand.
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
So many MEN TWIST scripture is leading people TO HELL.
I don't believe you are as dumb as you pretend.
Just meditate on my answer about how to be reborn in post # 597 until it sinks in.
Happy trails until that happens, and then you can tell me what part of my answer you disagree with point by point,
so this discussion will move forward instead of the circle we are stuck in now.
