Earlier this morning when I tried to use Christian Chat I got an error message saying, "Error 1015". A Google search revealed that this typically indicates that the user is being rate limited, but this was the first time I'd visited the site today. I left t for a bit, and have just tried again, this time successfully. Seems like a temporary glitch, rather than me over-using the site. Has anybody else had this experience?

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one this happened to. I unignored everyone on my ignore list this morning, which was quite large, and I thought it might've been from that. It said I was temporarily banned. I've been getting this error off and on all day.

Thank you for letting us know, David. That makes five error messages that this site produces.
Hopefully the Go Daddy issue never returns. Fatal Errors are also concerning LOL. It is a bit
crazy making when you go to post something and the page simply whites out with a spinning
thinking wheel in the tab. Whiteouts can last for hours. Sometimes the Cloudfare server redirects
me to the state south of me or to a near-by province. Whatever happened is not your fault.

I believe the rate limit has been set up deliberately to reduce DoD attacks - only, it would be great if it did not affect requests of logged-in member users.

( @RoboOp - what can you tell us? )

that’s a good question 🙋‍♀️

Too many handshakes being requested over a short period of time. This is not a bad thing but instead a good thing as part of security. I suggest Go-daddy leave it alone it did what it was suppose to do.

Sorry the rate limiting was set too strict at that moment but it was soon adjusted. The main purpose is to stop various bots (e.g., AI bot crawlers) from overwhelming our server. Feel free to message me directly if this happens again.

Thank you!

Anyone still having an issue with this? I can view maybe one or two posts but when I go back or refresh I'm locked out again. I contacted RoboOp but was just curious if anyone else is having problems with it or if it's just me.

It has not stopped happening - continues as a regular thing - day and/or night - always there.

Why is it not nearly as prevalent on my phone - while I cannot get three clicks on my desktop before it kicks in and I have to wait for hours before I can do anything else???

I am thinking that cloudflare or whoever is implementing things you did not ask for...

Is there any way possible that you can implement a solution totally within your control on the server that does not limit logged-in [real-people] members any at all?

Other than the "main purpose" you mentioned, what [else] are you trying to accomplish?
