You said this,

"I'd just go ahead and trust Him when He told me I received His Holy Spirit way back in the day long before Mom and Dad thought about me. My spirit was born again by His Spirit when I first heard Him at the age of 9, giving me a newness of mind and a new power to overcome sin and fear and turn away from it with a humble heart and walk in unison with His direction in His joyful Spirit."

If I was you I would back that up with HIS word, if you can't it's a lie from Satan and your going down the road that leads to destruction.

But you do you, we all have choices to make, what do you think of is saying we need to be born of water and of spirit? Not true?

Read the book of Joel, for the 13th time. I have no doubt as to what He did. The more I talk to you, the more sure I am.
Again, being born of the water is our first birth out of the water of the womb. I had no choice in that, as I was fearfully and wonderfully made before the foundations of creation. Then, on the Day of Pentecost 33 AD, I was born of His Spirit when He shared Him with mankind and baptized us with Spirit and fire. I had NOTHING to do with that, either. Then, and this is the best part, He was kind enough to leave me a road map of life and how to get the most peace, love and joy out of the ONE life He gave me on this spinning dirt cloud. I certainly don't need a group of flawed humans who can't even agree on one thing in His word let alone 66 books worth to explain what's already been explained. Otherwise, I'd be a Catholic in England. Seems to me, it was always the Synagogues getting rebuked for their misinterpretations.

Your making some sence now, you did have no choice when you were born naturally.

I have NO IDEA where you get we all have the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost!! NO IDEA IT SURE DON'T COME FROM HIS WORD.

It's NOT in Joel or anyplace else.

YOU do have a choice to be REBORN sprituly.

Catholics have a BUNCH of red flags going on, do they even look at HIS WORD?

Take a look at how the first people to be reborn.

Two things happened JESUS filled them with the Holy Ghost and they were baptized in JESUS name.

You have to ask your self why did that have to happen if it already happened?

THEY MADE A CHOICE, repent, get baptized in JESUS name to get rid of sins and JESUS filled them with the Holy Ghost.

Gospel rebirth scriptures

(Acts 2:38-41, 8:12-18, 9:17-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-6, 22:16)

Acts 2:38-39 (Jewish) The group did not receive the Holy Ghost the moment they believed in Jesus. However, they were told they could expect the Holy Ghost at some point.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Acts 8:12-17 (Samaritans)
But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Acts 10:43-48 (Gentiles)
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts 11:13-14
And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;
Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

Acts 19:2-6 (Disciples who did not realize they had to water baptized in Jesus name)
He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Acts 22:14-16 (Paul's water baptism)
And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Do you notice I say something then back it up with HIS WORD, That's how you know I'm telling you the truth.

Do you notice I say something then back it up with HIS WORD, That's how you know I'm telling you the truth.

I back it up with His word, you just don't apply what I'm telling you. You don't care to diligently seek. Do I need to post the verse and scripture numbers? Sorry. I just know my Bible and thought you did too. Really, you don't need to post all that. I already know where to go to find the passages you post. Thank you, tho. Book of Joel.
I didn't say we received the Holy Ghost on the Day of Pentecost. I said He poured out His Spirit onto all mankind on that day. The Apostles were filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues as the Spirit gave utterance. What were his next words? "And they were all amazed saying one to another, are not these men all Galilean? How is it we hear them in our own tongues. These men are drunk.". Then, Peter, being full of the Holy Ghost said, "These men are not drunk, seeing it is but the third hour." Continue Acts 2:17-Acts 28:31 or just read the Book of Joel. You're trying to synonymize Ghost and Spirit and I just don't read it that way. I'm wondering what the function of the Holy Ghost in todays church is, considering all prophecy is being or has been fulfilled, so there's no need to prophesy anything. Nobody is called to perform real miracle healings anymore as everything goes according to Gods plan and if you're called home you're called home and if you're not, it's not your time. Why are churches teaching to be filled with the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues when we are not called to receive the Holy Ghost today and speak in an unknown tongue? The Bible has been translated into all languages? No need for tongues and interpreters today.

I'm sorry, when you say something you need share scripture proving what you say is correct.

Like I will say, we need to get baptized to get rid of our sins, IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO DO IT.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Now you can see, it's NOT ME or my opinion it's HIS WORD not mine.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

As you can see when those fokes that were reborn, both are just what JESUS said had to happen, they ALL volunteered to be baptized (WHAT WE HAVE TO DO) and JESUS filled them with HIS spirit. (THAT IS WHAT HE DOES).

But the think to understand he filled each and everyone one of them and it sill happens today.

You said this,

I don't need to read Joel, 1. you said it prove it 2. No reason to it's not in there.

I don't understand why you say it's not for ALL who follow HIM.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

So the only way to get rid of our sins is being baptized in JESUS name something WE HAVE TO DO.

In every case when JESUS filled SOMEONE with the Holy Ghost they spoke in tongues.

Acts 8, they believed were baptized AND DID NOT HAVE THE HOLY GHOST until Peter and John came to pray for them! PROOF the Holy Ghost was not for ALL MANKIND on the day of Pentecost.

Acts 10, JESUS filled them with the Holy Ghost why Peter was speaking to them, PROOF the Holy Ghost was not for ALL MANKIND on the day of Pentecost.

Acts 19, Paul ASKED THEM have you got the Holy Ghost since you have believed??? They said NO, Paul asked how were YOU baptized? Paul baptized them and laid hands on them and they received the Holy Ghost. PROOF the Holy Ghost was not for ALL MANKIND on the day of Pentecost.

When JESUS filled me with HIS SPIRIT? Maybe 10 years ago? PROOF the Holy Ghost was not for ALL MAN KIND on the day of Pentecost.

Acts 1:2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

With the Holy Ghost JESUS will lead us.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

When we get the Holy Ghost

1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

With out it, how do we speak to GOD?

1 Corinthians 14:2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

What I posted had NOTHING to do with who GOD called, it did have EVERYTHING to do with JESUS filling up HIS DISCIPLES with the Holy Ghost.

Are YOU one of them? DID HE FILL YOU???

It is a part of being REBORN.

What does HIS WORD say?

Acts 2:38-39
King James Version
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Acts 2:33
King James Version
33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

It is a part of being reborn, and after you have been filled, it comes with different gifts.

1 Corinthians 13
King James Version
13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Do not divorce God’s calling from the Spirit’s filling. God is One and so is salvation/rebirth and sanctification/maturation.

What does JESUS being GOD have to do with you not getting the Holy Ghost.

There is a reason he hasn't filled you and it's your fought.

Seek and ye shall find.

I weas always taught that those were Spiritual gifts apart from the gift of the Holy Ghost. Is there a difference?

Thank you.

That is why we need to search in HIS word to see if what others say line up with HIS word, if it doesn't RUN or if those who are talking are humble point it out to them.

That is also why when I get asked questions I like to give you scripture and keep my words to a minimum.

How can you have the gifts of the Holy Ghost without getting the Holy Ghost?

Like Peter said after they received the Holy Ghost, in verse 33 it's what you see and hear.

Those around them saw and heard what happened when they got the Holy Ghost, I bet the 120 had no idea of what happened. It has never happened before, they were just told to wait for it. Wait for WHAT lol. They found out.

1 Corinthians 12
King James Version
12 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14 For the body is not one member, but many.

15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?

20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.

25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

LOL. Wow. That's kinda harsh. What could he be doing wrong?

He is an example of Pride, he thinks he knows GODS word but is so full of pride he can't see.

He says things that are out and out LIE's and claims them to be true.

I feel for him, I ask him to back up what comes out of his mouth with GODS word and he just can't but sticks with his own knolage.

I feel bad for him and for those who his mentors, need to pray for them all.

If you look at our back and forths you will see his statements.

This is one of his statments, (GW = GODS WORD, WB = WATER BAPTISM)

GW says WB was replaced with SB because they are two separate things: one is an outward work that may be imitated, while the other is the inward faith in JESUS that is salvific.

I asked him to back it up and then comes the dance round and round.

What he says in NOT OF GOD.

What does JESUS being GOD have to do with you not getting the Holy Ghost.

There is a reason he hasn't filled you and it's your fought.

Seek and ye shall find.

You cannot be saved without getting the HS.
I am more filled than you are.

Thank you.

That is why we need to search in HIS word to see if what others say line up with HIS word, if it doesn't RUN or if those who are talking are humble point it out to them.

That is also why when I get asked questions I like to give you scripture and keep my words to a minimum.

I profess Jesus as Lord but have never been filled with the Holy Ghost as evidenced by speaking in tongues. How does that work?

What he says in NOT OF GOD.

No, you are an example of projection and pejorative popishness,
because YOU have not disproved with Scripture one thing I have said
(Matt. 7:1-3, Rom. 14:10, 1Cor. 4:4-5, 2Cor. 13:5, Jam. 4:12),
nor are you disagreeing agreeably.
