Opinions abound.

However, scripture provides a direct answer as to how New Testament believers become born again. Every detailed account includes belief in Jesus, repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus for remission of sin, and receiving the the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:4-41, 8:12-18, 9:17-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-7, 22:16) Being birthed into the body of Christ remains the same for people today as it did for those present at Pentecost. The same foundation must be laid by all as revealed throughout scripture, particularly in Hebrews 6:1-2. Afterward, the believer who has become born again is to pursue a lifestyle that promotes becoming Christlike. This is only possible through accepting principles found in the word, and being led into all truth by the indwelling presence of the Holy Ghost. The Apostle Paul said, I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. He also said everyone is to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling.

Jude instructs us, "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith (seek out) which was once delivered unto the saints.

Salvation is by grace THROUGH faith. Faith in what God says is true and obedience as He instructs.

Again, some of the Acts accounts you cited report that believers WERE WB, but not that they were damned if they DIDN'T get WB,
whereas Acts 16:31 and Paul's epistles (Rom 3:21-22, 1Cor. 1:17, 2Cor. 5:7, 13:5, Gal. 1:6-9, 2:16, Eph. 2:8-10, Phil. 1:29, 2:9-11,
Col. 1:3-4, 2:16-17, 1Thes. 1:2-8, 3:6-8, 2Thes. 1:3-4, 2:13-14, 1Tim. 1:3-7, 4:1 & 10, 6:11-12, 2Tim. 1:5, 2:22-26, Tit. 1:1 & 10, 2:1-2, 3:4-7, Philemon 1:4-5, Heb. 3:12-19) teach that BElIEF/SB is essential for salvation, NOT the work of WB.

Water baptism is not a work, it is an act of faith. Those who place their trust in Jesus, as revealed by obedience to the New Testament command, have their sins remitted. Jesus made this a possiblity for all those living in the NT. But not all will take hold of what Jesus died to provide. Jesus words on the subject should be enough to quell opposition to the truth. "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." Mark 16:15-16

Rejecting the truth is obviously not the answer...having eyes they do not see. Whereas, belief and obedience shatters the darkness-as once I was blind, now I see... (John 3:3)

Well, IMO WB is a work even though--like all good works/acts/deeds--it is motivated by faith.

And IMO those who believe in Jesus as Messiah and Lord are SB and shall be saved, regardless of whether they get WB,
even though I advocate getting WB as a wonderful way of publicly professing saving faith in the atoning death, burial
and resurrection of Christ. Happy trails for now!

Water baptism is the new testiment version of the old testament circumcision. It is a good thing to do it is a sign of faith. However when you have churches begin to teach you must be baptized to be saved, then people start getting baptized just so they can go to heaven. Those churches are taking an act of faith and turning into a work of the law.

You continue to assert things "IMO". However, scripture reveals your opinion is not accurate.

Scripture attests that God brings about remission of sin in believer's when they obey His counsel and are water baptized. (Mark 1:1-5, Luke 3:3, Luke 24:47, Acts 2:38, 10:43-48, 11:1-18 (pay particular attention to verse 17) 22:16. In addition to being water baptized, believers must also receive the indwelling presence of the Holy Ghost. Both experiences are required and occur separately as revealed in all conversion accounts. (Acts 2:4-42, 8:12-18, 9:17-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-7, 22:16)

As for the idea that water baptism is just a public display, consider that in many cases baptisms took place without an audience. Ananias water baptized Paul while alone. The jailer and his family were baptized at midnight, Paul baptized men in Acts 19 and the account specifies there were 12 men present.

I share these scriptures in hopes you will take another look at what scripture actually states. Many today are led to believe water baptism holds no real significance. Scripture expresses it's essential to salvation. No one will enter the kingdom of God without obedience to God's command that remits sin; by His design.

What is God's requirement for salvation (GRFS)?
Do you mean being saved out of the world (metaphorically crossing the Red Sea out of Egypt) or saved into the promised land (metaphorically crossing the River Jordan into Canaan), or saved from all our enemies (metaphorically having either driven out or assimilated all the agents of opposition to God's rule in Canaan)?

I mean saved TO heaven via resurrection and translation and FROM hell and destruction.

Scripture attests that Christ atoned for sins and we share His righteousness as we strive for moral perfection.
The gospels and Acts describe what occurred during the transition period from the OT to the NT, but Paul teaches
what is now normative during the church age in his epistles--and both teach that love is the normative sign of the HS.

May I suggest you read the epistles and harmonize their teachings with the Scripture you posted?

Consider the consequences for disobeying the OT command of circumcision. People were cut off from God, and Moses was even threatened with death. (Genesis 17:14, Exodus 4:24-26) And those who believe and obey the NT command of water baptism shall be saved according to Jesus Himself. (Mark 16:15-16)

It's sad, but true, that people are willing to accept denominational beliefs rather than the actual word of God. (Matt. 21:25, 32; Mark 1:2-4; Luke 1:76-77, 3:3, 24:47; Acts 2:38, 10:43, 22:16)

Jesus said John the Baptist came in the way of righteousness and was not believed. John said water baptism was to be done for remission of sins. (Mark 1:1-5, Luke 3:3, etc.)

Jesus also explained water baptism’s role in remitting sins:
The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him. Matt 21:25, 32

Note John's statement concerning the connection between water baptism and becoming sons of God. And that wrath is avoided through submitting to water baptism in Luke 3:7-8 below:
Then said he (John the Baptist) to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

Mark 1:2-4
John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance FOR the remission of sins.

Luke 1:76-77
And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
To give knowledge of salvation unto his people BY the remission of their sins,

Luke 3:3
And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance FOR the remission of sins;

Luke 24:47
Jesus said, And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, BEGINNING AT JERUSALEM. (The NT water baptism included the use of the name of Jesus as remission of sin was made possible because of His sacrifice-Acts 2:36-38)

Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the NAME of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 10:43
To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. (speaks of water baptism modified to include the name of Jesus for remission of sin)

Acts 22:16 (Apostle Paul’s water baptism)
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, CALLING ON THE NAME of the Lord.

Titus 3:5-6
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, (water baptism) and renewing of the Holy Ghost; (receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost)
Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; (This parallels what Peter preached in Acts 2:38)

It is indeed sad that those in the denomination viewing WB as GRFS instead of SB as Paul taught pervert the Gospel of salvation via faith in the atonement of Christ. John's baptism was superseded by Christ's, but some cling to the OT doctrine of salvation via works.

Actually the NT was begun after Jesus was glorified and shed forth the Holy Ghost at Pentecost. Peter presented the keyS of the kingdom in Jerusalem that day. (Acts 2:4-42)

The Apostle Paul believed in Jesus yet did not receive the Holy Ghost and submit to having his sins washed away until days later. (Acts 9:17-18. 22:16) Also noteworthy, Paul was preaching the same message presented at Pentecost, and carried forth by the original 12 apostles, some 20+ years later. (Acts 19:1-7) Interestingly, the last detailed conversion account also involved 12 men that went forth with Paul sharing the message with those in Ephesus, then throughout Asia; both Jews and Gentiles. (Acts 19:8-10)

A well known fact is the Book of Acts is the only one without an official ending. Why? Because the message presented at Pentecost has not ceased, nor will it until Jesus returns for His bride. A bride who has made herself ready.

Paul's epistles do not teach a different gospel message. But rather they reveal what God expects from those who have already been born again.

All NT detailed conversion accounts involve water baptism in the name of Jesus for remission of sin, and the need to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:4-41, 8:12-18, 9:17-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-7, 22:16) The instructions initially given at Pentecost shine light on what Jesus spoke of in John chapter 3: "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, (meaning truly, truly) I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

Yes, Paul taught both Jews and Gentiles both how to be saved and what God expects from those who are being saved.

Again, I believe the HS worked both as described in Acts and as indicated in the epistles, such as Romans 5:1-11.

The problem for some seems to be ignoring the latter instead of harmonizing it with the former,
so they wind up with an "either-or" interpretation, which is akin to "double-think" and proof-texting.

If, by the above, you are stating what you believe one must do to become saved, then generally speaking, you confuse what is required for salivation with the (Christian) traits that arise and are exhibited, after, and from, salvation. A spiritually dead person (which all of us were before becoming saved), is incapable of doing those things.
Use Saul/Paul as an example. He did none of those things to become saved. Yet God saved him with no prerequisites imposed upon him, except that God had chosen him for salvation. Paul tells us that he was the "chief of sinners" yet regardless, God chose him and saved him.

I asked you in prior posts to reconcile your requirements as reflected in your verses above, against the verses following, which you chose not to do. So, I'll ask again now. Reconcile the below verses with your "requirements" verses above for salvation so that they do not fundamentally contradict each other. There are many more similar verses, but for now, I'll post these.

[Tit 3:5-6 KJV]
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

[Eph 2:1 KJV]
1 And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins;

[Eph 2:4-6 KJV]
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus:

[Eph 2:8 KJV]
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:

The same requirement you would ask of your own children. Trust and obedience.

But the keyword is "children". In the spiritual sense, God's children are only those whom He saves, not everyone.

[Rom 8:14 KJV] 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

I am stating what Paul stated regarding GRFS, which as you noted can be confusing unless one harmonizes the statements
(which I have done, am doing, and will continue to do), and I think Eph. 2:8-10 indicates how: saving faith is the horse that
precedes the cart of good/loving works. Thus, we are saved by grace through faith and sanctified by grace via faith (Rom. 1:17)
