The bigger thing is that a lot of the Anti-Seizure meds are in a group of medications call SSRIs. That includes a lot of anti-depressant, and mood stabilizer meds. One I take for example, is Keppra. I take it in an "off-label" use, but its actual use is a mood stabilizer.
I honestly think that there should be a deeper dive into interactions on medications in general. Pharmacists should be having at length conversations with patients when they begin new meds, about interactions with currently administered meds, about what to avoid in the way of foods/drinks.
Of course this stems from my own experience, and having to investigate my own medications and their interactions.
Dieticians in hospitals always incense me as well. They're always treated as an afterthought, but I firmly believe that if they were included as a bigger part of discussion, a lot of issues could be avoided from the get go.
I'm with you Chris.
You knew this from diagnosing your own condition. You did the old fashioned approach of the Natural Drs aka Naturalpaths and Nutritionists.
You looked at your experience and determined that something you did caused an effect. The world will say that you are not qualified. The world system will tell you "correlation does not mean causation," which is sometimes true, but more often they repeat that mantra to cover their crimes.
Chris, you seem like a person that will take this to heart, so I will share something the Lord has shared with me over time and much experience.
This should be committed to memory and applied to life.
A. You care about yourself more than strangers who are without Christ.
You suffer and want to be well.
They are not suffering.
Their motives are usually to gain wealth.
You are the product of their business.
You will occasionally find a Christian who will be an exception to this rule, but many of those who even advertise to Christians to get their business, are unscrupulous and seek love of money over the love of God and neighbor.
B. Those who have a paid position in a given field may know a lot of things, but they are not always experts in the field. They also may not have a personal interest, a drive to learn more. None of us know it all. You just taught me something new about coffee's effects on some who are on your classification of meds. Recently I learned about the latest trend in supplements that the same contraindication, methylene blue.
I spent hours researching, reading and taking online classes on that specific subject so I can more effectively help others. That takes effort, time from other things important to me and money.
Example, a pharmacist might take note of that too. Some will and others won't. Most are friendly in my experience and I had two friends with PhDs in pharmacology and their pharmacies. However, most are going to be busy on the computer filling orders and focussed on making the $. That means what?
You don't have to go to college to study pharmacology, but you should do your own research when taking any chemicals. Drugs are dangerous chemicals. Even pharmacists don't know everything about their field. There may be few who know what you just conveyed to me about coffee. It might not even be on the physicians desk reference aka PDR that's published data from pharmaceutical companies to Drs.
You mentioned Dietitians being part of the big discussion with Drs on this issue. I agreed with you whole heartedly when my Mom was wrongfully sent to a hospital by her "friend." I asked for conferences with multiple RDs/ registered dietitians, just to get her the basic nutritional needs she required to survive. These ladies had masters degrees in the field. The thing I realized is that they did far more harm than good. They were stumbling blocks in the road to getting my mother anything resembling food. They were against supplements. They were not stupid women. They were just plain evil. Evil is harmful according to the Bible. It usually does not look like an angry monster in a rage or a dictator's speech at a podium. It appears as an angel of light. They serve their father the Devil and they do the works of their father because he was a murderer from the beginning.
I don't brush all RDs with the same brush or the pharmacists. I have seen on hundreds of plates and advised many suffering people at their weakest most vulnerable state. It really breaks my heart when they are treated with not only disregard, but given the exact opposite of what is necessary in their condition. The system is so utterly messed up that there's no fixing it or reforming it. It has a motive and it's the root of all evil.
At the same time there are those who do try to look outside the system of the box it confines them to. Those either do what is best as they learn on their own or they get out of the system and look for an honest job where they won't be harming person. There's a lot more to this subject than this, but if you apply those 2 facts, it may save your life or those you love.
To your health and happiness!
