I think people are completely mistaken to be looking for AI to be super intelligent. To me when it is smarter than 50% of Americans (ie right now) and when it can improve itself (ie right now) that is the point of no return. It doesn't have to replace every American's job. 25% unemployment is a great depression level. Why would you hire new employees if AI is smarter, faster, cheaper, and better? Look at the improvement over the last two years, if we keep on that trajectory it will be better than 90% of Americans in two years.
It doesn't have to be better than an employee at everything, only at doing their job. Already it is more reliable, cheaper and faster. It may be that for some employees they still bring value to the company, but for half of them it is probably not the case. It may be hard to assess the value of each individual employee, but if you use AI it should be much easier. It could tabulate the work each employee does. If employees work in teams of four you could probably replace one of those four with AI right now.
Yes, the legal profession is in the relatively early stages of experiencing the AI influence. The attorneys are finding out that AI can perform their legal research within minutes, when it previously took humans many hours to construct the same research. There still needs to be human checking of the material. Some initial problems are being encountered, but who knows how soon those may be worked out and/or overcome. One interesting problem that has been experienced is that AI will sometimes "make up" a case or citation for the case being presented as relevant to an issue. Some of those problems weren't detected by the attorney presenting the motion or brief to the Court. They were detected by opposing counsel or the judge. What an interesting world we've inherited now.
I consider the propensity for AI to make up stuff (lie) is a tell. AI would be used for disinformation. All warfare involves deception and if you consider AI as a tool for deception it brings an exponential increase to the ability to spread disinformation.
Let's talk about the Great Deception
Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
This is the first warning Jesus gave when they asked him about His second coming. Warfare involves deception. Expect this to be first and foremost among Satan's tools.
At this point everyone is familiar with deep fakes. Now imagine the AI has access to your phone, it knows the people you talk to, and so you get phone calls from them but actually it is from AI. It can also mimic not only their voice but their style of speaking and will know about things said on previous conversations. Think of the movie the terminator where the terminator could imitate any person it had come into contact with.
AI will also know your viewing history on Youtube, Facebook, Rumble, etc. As a result it can make deep fakes of people you watch and listen to. The deception can be tailored to each individual person.
Also the AI can categorize each person, suppose it decides you are a conservative evangelical Christian, that you will not be deceived into worshipping the Beast, but it can deceive you into walking into a trap so they can quickly and easily snatch you and put you into a concentration camp.
Now you might argue that if you don’t have a phone, and you don’t use the internet then it will be much harder for AI to do this to you. That is true. How many of those people that fit that criteria actually exist? But even if some do, what about their friends and family? Do they have wives, children, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles? The only ones AI won’t be able to round up using these deep fakes are the proverbial monk sitting on top of a mountain in the midst of a vow of silence.
This is why the Bible has a Bible code, it is like a watermark on the Bible that will be erased if anyone attempts to change the word of God. People should set up code words and ask questions about things only the two of you would know but have not been mentioned on the internet or in phone calls.
I don't pretend to understand all the workings of AI, but, evidently, AI is creating hallucinated citations by somehow mimicking the information previously received. I can't understand how it would just make up an entire case, though. I imagine this is just another bug to work out. There will be the learning stage.
The other thing I have seen AI perform first-hand in the legal profession is the ability to review millions of documents for relevancy within mere minutes. For instance, a team of attorneys will review what a human determines is a sufficient cross-section of the huge document collection. Then, the AI software will take over and extrapolate the determinations from the human review of the subset across the millions of documents remaining. This means that the team of attorneys may only get a few weeks of work on the project, instead of what would have been six months or more not too long ago. So, if anyone still thinks that AI will only substantially affect the blue-collar class, they are dreaming.
In 12 months Grok has gone from HS level to being smarter than any graduate student.
When I was in HS I had a friend who got 800 on the math part of the SAT, but I was smarter than him in English. I also knew a girl from my English class who got 800 in the English part of the SAT but I was smarter than her in Math. Grok is like the AI that gets 800 on every metric or test. You might be able to find humans smarter than it in some narrow field, but when looking at every subject you won't. Now think about that, it did this in one year. It would take a human 10 years to do this in one area. So if we think that it is learning and improving ten times faster than a human why would you hire anyone out of college or graduate school again? Grok 4 is better than Phd level in every question (every single discipline). That doesn't mean it would be a better lawyer or doctor, but it does mean it would be an excellent assistant. Often you will see a team of 4 lawyers handling a big case. Now it looks like you could get by with a team of one or two at the most plus Grok.
Also you may have an excellent doctor, but Grok could run through every single patient and diagnose them, Perhaps 10% it needs help with, but with 90% it would save the doctor and the hospital time and money.
The same is true of doing tax returns. Sure, there may be a few CPA's that are important for multinational corporations and billionaires but for pretty much everyone else Grok should be able to do just as good a job cheaper and faster.
The same is true of stock brokers. There are a lot of factors that can be reviewed and compared when considering investments. I imagine Grok could quickly provide you with a short list of promising candidates each Monday morning with a synopsis of why they would be good investments as well as giving you an alert when it might be time to sell investments you are holding.
Elon Musk calls this an intelligence Big Bang explosion. He is about to combine Grok with the most sophisticated tools used by major corporations and with Optimus, his robot so that instead of simply theorizing about physics it can test its hypothesis.
AI is gonna replace some jobs it has for years already. Think of calling customer servise. However they can't replace all the jobs. Not because they can't do them but because if no one has a job no one has any money. And the corporations wouldn't be able to sell anything the AI robots make.
During the height of the great depression unemployment was around 25%. You don't have to replace all of them to have a great depression.
We are set for a collapse of the US dollar which in turn will cause a run on the banks and a collapse of the stock market. BRICS has been formed specifically as a replacement to the US dollar as a reserve currency. In a crisis people will rush to gold and silver and that is the basis of BRICS.
Still resonates in me the message from John Fenn at CWOWI.com, that there will be a time the banks will close on a Thursday and open the following Monday with 1/2 our dollars, that sounds like a currency revaluing after the ccp owned and installed previous administration. It also resonates that for him to have received that Word of Knowledge it sounds like we may be here, i.e. before harpazo
