You posting this psalm makes clear to me why Jesus said Jerusalem wouldn't see her king until it said blessed is he that comes in the name of the lord. Psalm 118 was recited by pilgrims as they approached Jerusalem during yearly feasts. It was a fulfillment of prophecy that the disciples said this as the king of Israel entered Jerusalem. That is why Jesus said when the pharisees told Jesus to shut his disciples up who were praising him that if they didn't say blessed is he that comes in the name of the lord then the rocks would cry out in order to fulfill the prophecy.
