I used to own one, a mix. The mother was a Blue Healer owner of the litter didn't know that she mated with a Belgian Malonois. He thought it might have been some kind of German Shepherd. I picked the pup or maybe he picked me. I was in Highschool and wanted a large guard dog that I could train to attack intruders on command.
We had a nice neighborhood for years until criminals moved their trailers into the yards of their relatives.

When it was a puppy I thought it might end up a cattle dog like his mother. I told Mom that I wanted it to at least have a vicious name that might scare off the drug pushers and prevent future break-ins.
If there's enough interest, I might write a blog about that wonderful canine.

The puppy was a tiny little thing, just weaned from it's mother.
I displayed a "BEWARE OF DOG!" Sign at the end of our driveway.
Then I named the tiny beast SLASHER after the dog that accompanied Conan as a respected friend in this audio book.

First the cool intro and review to see if anyone wants to listen to the longer book.

The entire book by the father of Hero Adventure Pulp Fiction, Robert E. Howard.

I vote for the blog about the malonois. There's a lot of videos on tou tube about them and I enjoy them.
They're used as K9s for LEOs and are very fast. Considered as a "working dog' versus family pet
they are not for just anyone.

I just watched a movie with a Malinois in the leading role, "Max." Although it was obviously low budget, that it was written as a memorial in commemoration of marine K-9s and their handlers really came through as the primary take-with-you package and did well to exhibit the dynamic within their relationship as much as their skill set.
