Your statement made Me think on This. Does God give a person a new heart; of dose He awaken the One inside of US? That being our dead minds!

DeepSeeker
I believe it is both a new heart and an awakening!
Many churches push the idea of an alter call. They instruct you to just repeat these words and you are saved. People do it and actually believe they have been saved. o_O
If God has already been working in them it, it could rarely happen. But, in most cases it fails because the person's heart is not right.
However, when you hear the word of God and the HS has done His work in you, your desire for God will change.
This blessing is not given to all! If it were, there would be no need for hell.
I believe new heart refers to awakening.......

Hello BillyBob! Thank you for attempting to help those who cannot understand simple Biblical truths.

Scripture says

Ezekiel 36 verses 25-26 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your impurities and all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
The following verse says, And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes
and to carefully observe My ordinances. Eh, That must get some people's knickers in a knot.
I only speak what I believe, God must change both the heart and mind of those who hear.

The free will position is that man does not need anything from God in order to believe, though Scripture explicitly articulates that the natural man can neither receive nor comprehend the spiritual things of God... so obviously something has to change so the person can become of aware of God's drawing them, and comprehend the gospel message, because people do not simply choose to believe that which they consider to be foolishness. Understanding is part of coming to believe. Scripture expresses this in a number of ways such as having one's mind opened, their eyes opened, their ears opened. It is stated that it is with the heart that one believes, and a person's heart requires circumcising, because the stony ground of the incurably wicked heart of the natural man is not good ground for bringing forth the fruit of faith.

from Revelation 3 verse 17-18 ~ You say, ‘I need nothing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, white garments so that you may be clothed and your shameful nakedness not exposed, and salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.
Pretty much summed up my own experience there precious friend. Prior to March last year, i occasionally thought there must be a God when out walking somewhere really beautiful but never did anything about it.
Then end of March '24.... =)

As a preacher looking out into those listening you can see who are truly being affected by what they're hearing and know that God is seriously working on them. As a human being we also know there's a multitude of reasons why we just sit there and refuse to react when deep inside we know God is calling us. So I simply give that option and many times those I can see and have been watching during my sermon they are relieved and quickly throw up that arm. And when I say come up to be prayed for they do and they break down before God and I am their Witness to them being Saved by God.

1 Corinthians 3:

1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

The believers in the church at Corinth were contentious and divided because they were following men. It was pointed out in 1 Cor 1:12 every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. In 3:3, the same error is pointed out and Paul states that is carnal behavior ... living in light of who the believer was in Adam as opposed to who the believer is in Christ.

In 1 Cor 3, the church is taught that it is God Who works through His people ... that His people are His ministers. The word "ministers" is translated from the Greek word diakonos which means "those through whom God carries on his administration on earth" (Thayer's Greek Lexicon).

8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

"Laborers together with God" ... Paul and Apollos worked together with God ! I love that we (believers) are labourers together with God ... that God works in and through the believer ...

"ye are God's husbandry" ... God cares for and cultivates His people ...

"ye are God's building" ... the body of believers (the church) is God's dwelling-place. Under Old Covenant, God's presence was in the Holy of Holies ... behind a curtain into which only one priest could enter one day per year ... under New Covenant, God's presence is within each and every born again one. Where the born again one is, God is there ... and get a group of born again believers together ... wow!

10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

The believer is to take heed in how he or she is building upon the Foundation ... the Lord Jesus Christ. There will be a reckoning at some point in the future. Some will suffer loss ... some will receive a reward ...

The whole point of the words neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth is that we are not to follow men. We are to follow the Lord Jesus Christ ... and when we do, there will be fellowship one with another ... and it is God Who gives the increase
.

To the extent we follow men, there will be contentions and divisions ... these things ought not so to be.
.

I am not opposed to walking forward, with repentance and being blessed by other believers. I'm just saying your heart must also be right.
Preachers who bring God's word to others have the most important job there could possibly be, and have a right to be filled with joy as others are added to God's kingdom.

I've seen television Preachers do it and someone watching with me have commented if I thought it was real? I am just saying that in daily normal conversations with family, friends, coworkers, etc it's pretty easy to read expressions and body actions. Now apply that to Preaching the Gospel and having the Holy Spirit actively searching the hearts of those listening. It's pretty easy for a Preacher to see this. And sometimes you just get a feeling as you preach while scanning everyone that this message is for that specific person. So it's not a guessing game because they might think they can't be seen but a good preacher is definitely seeing. And knowing that person is not coming to the altar + my job is to preach so souls are Saved = what your original post discusses.

You only highlighted part of my statement. The entire statement was: God does not use people to draw others to Himself. He does the drawing. Again, you purposely left off part of the statement. This is either ignorance on your part, or deliberate. I'm not sure. But I have explained my position in detail that people are powerless to draw people to God. At any rate, have a blessed day.
It does not matter

You said God does not use people to draw

then you changed and said God does use people

You could show some humility and say yes, I did say that, I made a mistake..( sadly I have had to fall on my sword for making a mistake many a time. and I have seen others here do the same)

but no. Your too proud.

until you repent. I am done.. You have nothing to offer me.. And I can not trust anything you say

No one that I know of said anyone has the ability to draw people to God. We have always maintained God uses us as a tool of many to help draw.

I am not

lol.. Again, Non responsive.

I am amazed neither you or @Cameron143 can admit he made a mistake
You argue endlessly about whatever suits you because you're not trying to convince anybody of anything... or so you say. I am not convinced. If you are the person who was originally eternally gratefull then you are the first person I recall arguing with me trying to prove that you were right and I was wrong about something after I first joined 10 years ago... but you can keep pretending you're not trying to convince anybody of anything. It doesn't look like anything has changed except your name. I have not read the full exchange between you and Cameron, and why you would expect me to get involved in it anyway, and admit to something I do not know, is ridiculous. I barely engage with you because of your general attitude. My guess is you've received many infractions over the years because of it. I also believe that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

I see it is on purpose.

God is good. Can you trust that?

Your blinded by your pride

IF I AM A NON BELIEVER. I AM IN A CONDEMNED STATE

which means UNTIL I CHANGE FROM A NON BELIEVER TO A BELIEVER. I WILL REMAIN IN THAT CONDEMNED STATE

it DOES NOT MATTER WHY I DO NOT BELIEVE

IT MATTERS, THAT AT THAT MOMENT I AM IN A STATE OF UNBELIEF. AND AS THAT IS A FACT. I AM STILL IN A CONDEMNED STATE
I have told you
