Please, admin, close this thread. were done :)
Until next time.
They will spout their heresy somewhere else here. I notice even in threads they spout it and the thread was not even added to discuss it.

Still trying to figure how I get rid of my sins.
I thought Jesus dealt with them on cross.
Makes me laugh when someone can get rid of their sin if it’s confessed yet spout out sins can only get rid off with baptism on Jesus name only.
Thanks for fighting their crap.

"You did say you were baptized "IN THE NAME OF"

"Do you know what GOD'S name is?"

He said he was baptized.

Do you? Does God know you? I'm tired of playing the name game with modern-day Pharieeses.

Matthew 23 in the NLT is a good Chapter for you because it speaks of those like you. Good application for you.
Why you talking to me how to be baptize? I'm building to that!!

One step at a time?

HOW DO WE GET RID OF OUR SINS??? BACK IT UP WITH SCRIPTURE.

For goodness sake.
YOU CANNOT GET RID OF YOUR SINS.
To get rid of your sins you would have to be sinless but you are not.
You proved that based on our chat earlier on.

I asked you if you need to get baptized again based on your theology that baptism gets rid of your sins, after being baptized in Jesus name and asked if you still sinned..

You said you did sin and quoted John

1 John 1:9-10
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

NOTICE - FORGIVE AND NOT GOT RID OFF.
If you continue to sin then we have not got rid of them,
That's why Jesus is our mediater.

IS TO GET RID OF YOUR SINS TO BE SINLESS?
You believe you have gotten rid of your sins based on baptism.
If you continue to sin then you need to be baptized again because your sins have not been ridden of.

You cannot have it both ways.

BIG DIFFERENCE.
BUT YOU WONT ACCEPT IT.

I am forgiven of my sins and I ask the Holy Spirit to help me sin less.

Night night.

According to HIS word the only way to get rid of our sins is being baptized in JESUS name. Acts 2:38, 22:16

If you can show me a different way please do.

Are you saying that I said we have to keep being baptized????

I can read how to be reborn, I let the Lord do the rest.
Same for me.
Sad you cannot.

As I said bye bye, done with you.
Don't bother responding anymore to me.
Hopefully one day you will come to understand that you cannot get rid of your sins but come to realise you are saved by the blood of Jesus and your sins are forgiven pre and post baptism.

Saying WE CANNOT GET RID OF OUR SINS IS NOT TRUE!!

Satans job is to keep us out of the water, and it is working for some.

HOW WE GET RID OF SINS.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22:16
King James Version
16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

HIS WORD!! DO YOU BELIEVE HIS WORD?

ALL YOU CAN'T BACK UP WITH HIS WORD. If you want to lie and not want me to respond don't lie about HIS WORD.

It was this same idea, the reason the catholic church started sprinkling babies with holy water.
iirc this practice began well before the reformation. like, there is evidence it was both present, and also controversial, in the 2nd century.

so it's a bit unfair to say 'the catholic church' - - it was really just, 'the church' - - we don't start getting any really substantial theological division between the church in Rome and the rest of the visible Church ((for example even the idea of a papacy)) until the 7th century-ish.

so shall we say, infant baptism became the practice of some in the church very early on?

but yes it is because of the interpretation that the act of water baptism - rather than faith in what Christ has done on the cross - is what actually forgives sin.

infant baptism springs out of believing that water baptism removes sin, independent of faith - because how can an infant, without capacity for understanding the gospel, possibly have faith in it?

The pushers of faith alone regeneration theology because of the lack of the ability to cite even one verse that supports their "faith alone" narrative will even inject the definitive "alone" into almost every occurrence of the word faith in the New Testament thus rendering these verses into all-encompassing panaceas.

@posthuman I see this, yes I am corrected on it. The early church.
i am absolutely not catholic, but i think we as protestants waste a lot of energy bashing 'catholicism' and mistakenly blaming rome for mistakes we have all made.

i've learned a lot about church history in the last few years and it's changed my perspective quite a bit; happy if i can pass a little of that on!

No, that is not correct. Romann chapter 10:9-10 states very clearly AS Jesus said in John 3:16-19

9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Just speaking a word, saying what is known as the "sinner prayer," doesn't save you.

The Holy Spirit must enable one to Believe as they come under conviction for their sins and can see the need for salvation and forgiveness through repentance, grace, and faith. Then, they are able to accept Christ's free gift. Once they do this, they should follow Christ in obedience by being baptized in water. Baptism in the name of The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit or in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Confession with the mouth, but without a transformation of the heart, produces nothing.
