I'm not really a mom. "Snackers" was a college art project. The challenge was to make something out of clay that conveyed personality. Somehow he came out with a sassy smirk that tells you he's clearly up to something, so I joked that he was my first child.

I joined CC in my 20's, when the chat room was running. I was leery about creepers and figured that a pushy guy would be less likely to bother me if he assumed I was a mom. I soon learned that just refusing to share a picture is enough to do the trick, but by then there was no going back.

I remember I had some fun with it back in the day, occasionally claiming that Snackers had hacked my account if I said something snarky or if an uptight person took issue with my comments. I remember one guy was completely thrown off, demanding to know how many children I had and insisting I control them better 😂. Those were the days....😏

Anyways.... I didn't think of the "mom" part as dishonest at the time, but in hindsight I guess maybe it was 🤔. I probably wouldn't do it over again the same way, but I don't really want to change it either. Thoughts, yall? ☕🤔
LOVED reading this!
I gotta admit I was thrown for a loop when I read something here on CC somewhere a while back where you said you have no kids  I thought  okay then, whats up with the name? but never did get around to asking :LOL:
Love it!

Lol thanks... maybe I should put something on my profile or signature line about not really being a mom, I don't want to mislead people or claim false credit. 🤔

I just spent the weekend with some friends and their 2 little ones, lovely kiddos but my goodness I am WORN OUT! It was such non-stop action and emotions and questions from morning to night..... I salute your true mom-ness, m'lady! 🏆😎👍

Hey! If it keeps the creeps away...
It's like the digital version of wearing a ring for the same reason

Oh no, lol, 🫣 why does that sound so much like a finn, the unfortunate part I mean, that he got so drunk... I quess finns were drinkers back in the days too.

No worries. He came to his own people, to put it bluntly. According to my mom he ended up in a fight with his FIL to be and he was such a great fighter that my great grandmother’s dad ruled that he had to be a true Cajun and by that admitted into the family lol.

Good thing, or else I would not have been born.😂

This is such a romantic story. Admittedly, I can't convince myself that this 'new world' isn't what Jesus was referring to when He said, "I go and prepare a place for you, that where I am, there you may be also." Especially considering also, "out of all nations and tongues, I will gather my people..." I pretty sure that the founding fathers had stories like this in mind, and the children like you (I, myself would have never been born if a man from Indiana had not served in the Vietnam conflict), that a generated from such, when they formed the foundations of the U.S. Eh, I don't know really but, I always get so sentimental in such even as the upcoming festivities surrounding Independence Day.

Mine is simple. Colossian 2,8 my favourite Bible verse. These few words show so powerfully how worthless all the empty chatter in the world outside is. Not only, but especially the pompous posturing in mainstream media and politics and how worthless secular ideologies are.

Hey Everyone,

After seeing the "discussion" that broke out over our friend @Subhumanoidal and his username in the "Dark Attractions" thread, it got me thinking about how people perceive and react to the usernames we choose for ourselves.

To be honest, after watching that whole fiasco, what I REALLY wanted to title this thread was: "How Would People Here React If I Changed My Username to 'BigFatDoofus'?" But out of respect for this site, and knowing an outlandish title might be very off-putting to someone searching Google for a Christian forum, I am forced to keep my more ornery side under somewhat measured control (it's a full-time job, let me tell you.)

So before my inner goblin lets loose (that would be at least the 3rd time today, and it's only 9:30 in the morning,) let's talk about usernames!

* What is the origin of your username? Why did you choose it, and what does it mean to you?

I know many of us have explained our names more times than a kid on a road trip asks, "Are we there yet?!", but we always have newcomers here, so there's always an opportunity to re-introduce ourselves! :)

For whose who don't know...

Hi! I'm Seoulsearch, nice to meet you! :)

I am adopted, and my papers say I was found in a cardboard box in front of a theater in Seoul, Korea. I was adopted by loving, Christian, Caucasian parents -- and because of this, I have always been in-between everything, never fully fitting into one side or the other. When I was younger, I never knew who I was and was always searching for a place to belong. I am always in-between groups, labels, cultures, and classifications.

Over the years, I believe God has taught me that my calling is to be a bridge between different types of people. "Seoulsearch" represents my lifelong search to discover who I am, and my calling to help others find who they are in Christ as well.

Thank you for reading about me -- please tell us about the unique story behind YOUR name, and what it means to you! :)

* What are some alternative usernames you've considered or had over the years? What caused you to change them?

As a side note, I loved this suggestion in the Dark Attractions thread as an alternative play on Sub's name:

So if @Subhumanoidal is actually an alias for Marvel's newest superhero -- ShuuBoidalMan!! -- does that mean he should have to wear a cape?! :D:cool::geek:

* And finally, what are some fun (family-friendly) but rather outlandish names you have considered for yourself, and why?

I truly have to laugh when anticipating the kinds of comments I KNOW I would get if I did indeed changed my username to "BigFatDoofus," but for obviously reasons, I shall restrain myself (it's hard.)

How about you? :D
I only come up with ‘Marvelous” . . . Marv for short.

Lanolin - means sheep grease from the wool. It's a moisturiser. Jesus liked sheep, he's like the Shepherd. So -- I thought it was Christian enough for me. It's also like an anointing oil. Jesus was anointed.

I was Goodbook for a while on other forums. I thought it sounded Biblical. And also librarian-y. Because that's what I am.

My most outlandish name was QueenFluffyLotta. Our family cat was named Fluffy. Not sure where the Lotta came from, I think because I was a huge Garfield fan it came from a comic strip where he imagined himself as King Cateatalotta. Fluffy really was the Queen in our household.

If you changed your name to BigFatDoofus.

um.. I would question why? Seoulsearch is a cool name. You don't have to always keep explaining yourself. If people don't know that Seoul is Korean then they are just geographically ignorant.
