Drones are legal in the US, they can be made using a 3d printer which are also legal. So what has happened in Russia could very well happen here in the US.

The drones can be loaded up with plastic explosive which can also be made in the US using legally obtained chemicals and these drones can be operated by AI.

Imagine these trucks with the drones near oil refineries in Texas and New Jersey?

Imagine they are near military bases.

If the drone takes off 1 mile away from the target and is travelling at 60 mph then the target has 1 minute warning.

Power plants, sub stations, military bases, and even data centers could be hit.

One of these AI factories (new name for a data center or server farm) might be a hardened target, even underground. But what about the power source? What about the cooling? If you take out the power or the cooling you take out the AI factory.

You can get within a mile of the Pentagon, a mile within the NSA, CIA, FBI, etc. What has happened in Russia could be done a hundred times over in the US.

What about Wall Street and the NYSE, Nasdaq and other exchanges. You can get within two or three blocks of those targets. Yes, they keep back up records at some secure server farm, but it can't be too hard for China, Russia or Iran to figure out where the backups are.

If they bring down the power grid, and there is no way to prevent them from doing that, then the police will be overwhelmed and so a targeted attack on our Banking infrastructure would certainly be open to a kinetic attack.

Yes, that question is absurd, just as absurd as thinking Russia will not retaliate against the US for what just happened.

War is a never ending circle of retaliation. Funny how much leeway Russia is getting here. Like Russia is the poor, downtrodden country which is perfectly innocent in every way.

Not so. Russia is about to learn what it is like to be an disorganized attacker.

"With great power comes great responsibility". In my opinion the country given the most leeway these last 25 years is the US.

There are 55,000 substations in the US. If you destroy ten of them strategically located you can bring down the entire grid of the US. Often they are located in plain sight disguised as a house, or office or some other building. There is little to no protection other than locked doors. A team of ten trained commandos with plastic explosive could demolish one of these in less than 15 minutes. 100 men could take out the ten necessary.

I think this is much more likely than an EMP because an EMP would cause such widespread damage it would take decades to recover. Here, all you need are these ten substations to be replaced and you are back up and running. Many of these substations are built in China and can take as much as two years to build. However, if China began building them a year before the attack they could come in a year after the attack and turn the power back on. Estimates suggest 90% of Americans would die in that year without electricity.

There are also warnings from both high level officials and also prophets that ten suitcase nukes will go off in the US. If that were to happen they would take out ten city blocks and with those city blocks they would also take out ten substations. Literally in the blink of an eye the power for the entire US could go down. Phones would stop working (cell towers) as well as TV and radio transmissions. You would have chaos and the police would be totally occupied maintaining order. But gasoline for cars and trucks would be gone in two to three days. Electricity for water pumps would stop and so would clean water and water purification. Looters would be smashing store windows to get water. Electric stoves, electric heat and AC would all stop working. Without electricity the stock market would completely crash, banks would shut down, and we would resort to a bartering economy with gangs with guns being the main way you get what you need. There would be no way to call 911.

If you had ten suitcase nukes go off in the US who do you attack? Yes, it is possible to examine the radioactive fallout to determine where the nuclear material came from, but you need electricity to do that examination. Without electricity our computers and servers and transmission lines all go dead.

Most of these government buildings are horrible without electricity. The windows are all sealed and you need HVAC system to keep the air flowing. Now you have no lights, no heat, no AC and no air.

My point is you can try and maintain order for a month with the army and police, but we have 450,000 active service members in the army and 1,250,000 police. That would be about 1 police/soldier for every 300 people in the country. You are talking about close to 5 million meals a day to feed these people. That would be 150 million meals for one month. Even if we have that many stockpiled how would they get them distributed? No phones, and no gasoline or diesel once the pumps stop working. If you can't feed them how do you keep people on duty?

One major problem you have is nuclear power plants. You have to keep the pumps running and they probably only have enough diesel on hand for a few weeks.
