FYI "Exegeting" is to expound. It is not adding to or taking away. You mean eisegesis, which you keep displaying by contextually giving your opinion without Biblical support.

Hate and bias? You've overstepped yourself there, bro..... he is another believer that happens to understand part of scripture differently than you do... I have seen no hate or bias in his comments... trying to label him as such is way out of bounds... you really should apologize and try again to discuss in a kind manner.
I agree with your point. I do not practice the gifts, yet I have become more mature in their use as I yield to the Holy Spirit.
As Paul said, the context of stiring up the gifted and to forsake not the gifts that were imparted to you by laying on of hands, which means faith is needed to operate in them as the Holy Spirit has provided the unction to do so. The Lord Can have one used in the gift of healing, but that person must pray for healing, speak in tongues, or prophesize. The Holy Spirit does not make you do them you must obey and yield.

Paul said speaking in (unlearned) languages was a sign to unbelievers. If I were in that circumstances it would not be a special sign to me. It would be amazing but not a sign since I ALREADY believe. To a person who did not believe it would be nothing short of astounding. We cannot judge what is recorded in scriptures by our own experience. If we limited what we believe to our experience we would not believe any of the miracles including Jesus resurrection

This is not a "guarantee" that you get whatever gift you ask for.... the Spirit decides who needs what gift, and not every believer gets the same gift, or gifts. Scripture.

No answer to Acts chp 2-3 Peter speaking about Joel and saying what Joel said. There is no answer to John chapter 14 and the Old Testament scriptures given to him on the Holy Spirit. he does not want to discuss. And I will not allow anyone to attack young brother and sister in the Lord who came to this site with an honest post. I guess I don't understand what you mean by this. How do you become more mature in something that is supposed to be for your own personal prayer life, where the Spirit is praying for you with groanings you don't know how to speak? I appreciate the fact that you don't see a need to "practice" anything...

Paul said :

So Those who use the gift must learn how and be corrected as Paul was led to do in 1cor thains chapter 12 to 14 as he corrected the abuses in taking the lord supper. Paul did not end those did he? No. He brought back self-examination and acted like a mature believer. Let all be done in order and discipline.
Paul said in 1 Corinthians chapter 14 that those who speak tongues do not speak to man but to God unless there is an interpretation.
2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
then paul says :
1cor 14
1 Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
13 Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. 14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 What is the conclusion then?
I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.

This is maturity and properuse in the church setting. it is the job of the elders and pastor to teach correct and exhort the people while encouraging them to seek and desire the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
To answer questions from the scriptures, I provided in the other post the gifts of the Holy Spirit to help the believer personally and the church corporately. All of them including tongues.

The Holy Spirit is the Water Jesus said He would give us to drink and It would be a river of living water flowing out of our belly (innermost being).
When we first believed in Jesus Christ, we received the Holy Spirit as a seal but, there’s a baptism with the Holy Spirit when He starts flowing in us…. so life-giving, empowering us to be a witness for Jesus Christ.

Stir up means refresh, something that has been neglected, stagnant…. stir up the gift of tongues and let it flow!
It's to edify the church. There are clear instructions on how it and other gifts of the Holy Spirit are to be used in public assembly:
1 Corinthians 14:26 What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. 27 If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. 28 If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and to God.
29 Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. 30 And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. 31 For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. 32 The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. 33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.
I think it’s beautiful that Jesus Christ told us that the Father gives the Holy Spirit to those that ask.
I also think it’s beautiful that Jesus Christ told us that if anyone is thirsty, come to Him and He will give us living waters that we thirst no more but there will be a well springing up inside of us and out of our innermost being rivers of living water will flow. Beautiful!
