Christ is all my righteousness, as the hymn writer wrote it.
Because He died for me in my place. He imputed His righteousness to me, not by my efforts but His free gift, grace.
All I did was believe He is God, that He lived sinless, died and rose again and by believing this..past tense.. I have everlasting life.

You shouldn't, I'm horrible. The ONLY way this works is by Your mercy.

I've done nothing to deserve such a glorious place as this...but as I looked at calvarys hill the man in the middle said I could.
