If you were, hypothetically, standing before God right now and He asked you, “Why should I let you into Heaven?” What would you answer Him?

Because I have already been seated with you for 30 years or so!

Eph 2:6~~

I'd say: Lord, I have been faithful over a few things.

"His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ " Matthew 25:23

Precious truth, isn’t it?!

“ To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.”
Eph. 1:6

Because He died for me in my place. He imputed His righteousness to me, not by my efforts but His free gift, grace.

All I did was believe He is God, that He lived sinless, died and rose again and by believing this..past tense.. I have everlasting life.

John 3:16, 3:36, 5:24, 6:40

Ephesians 2:8-9

Romans 5:8, Romans 10:9-10

I agree. Horatius Bonar wrote a hymn that says:

Not what my hands have done
Can save my guilty soul;
Not what my toiling flesh hath borne
Can make my spirit whole.

2 Not what I feel or do
Can give me peace with God;
Not all my prayers and sighs and tears
Can bear my awful load.

3 Thy work alone O Christ,
Can ease this weight of sin;
Thy blood alone, O Lamb of God,
Can give me peace within.

4 Thy love to me, O God,
Not mine, O Lord, to Thee,
Can rid me of this dark unrest,
And set my spirit free.

5 Thy grace alone, O God
To me can pardon speak;
Thy power alone, O Son of God,
Can this sore bondage break.

6 I bless the Christ of God;
I rest on love divine;
And with unfaltering lip and heart,
I call this Saviour mine.

For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. :love:

"Cause I've done this, this, this, and this and 'I'm a good person'" - the average American response
...also, I've done this, this, and this and I'm a bad person. Maybe God will weigh the good vs. bad. Hopefully, his thumb won't be on the scale.
