Oooh yes, the pagan eggs and the pagan bunnies and all those other fertility rites that snuck in...
And the grass! All the grass that they keep putting in those Easter baskets! Can somebody please figure out how that is pagan?
See, I hate mowing. I would be very grateful if somebody would figure out how grass is pagan, so I can justify just spraying weed killer over the whole yard.
Ugh, don't remind me of mowing. My yard is starting to come to life. I'm dreading it already! Unfortunately, it would probably be said that not cutting it is pagan

This made me think of the movie I watched recently, Wicked. Of course, the movie revolved around the witch of the west and the witch of the south. Yawn! But, if it had involved the Western Bunny and the Southern Bunny...and even the Eastern and Northern Bunny, I'd have actually enjoyed it! I'd been happily eating my popcorn while watching these pagan bunnies. I might even indulge in a pagan chocolate egg.

Now I'm imagining a movie that combines Witches and Bunnies From All 4 Corners of the Globe and Their Search for Chocolate Eggs.
You just can't get much more pagan than that.

And now I'm thinking of the Levels of Judgment that these poor Directional Bunnies would receive.
* I mean, north is always associated with going up, towards heaven, so I'm guessing, The Northern Bunny would get off ALMOST scott-free.
* East is always associated with the sunrise, and mornings, which are associated with grace, so I'm guessing the Eastern Bunny, with a charming twitch of his ears, might just get by on a hop and a swish.
* But oh, woe and smite to the poor Western Bunny, seeing as the west is associated with the setting of the sun and the dark, dark night.
* And, I'm afraid that pitiable Southern Bunny is doomed to nothing but wretchedness! After all, we know nothing but trouble brews in the South!!

Some of my happiest times have been spent in the Deep South. I must be partial to pagans brews of deep trouble!

The Easter Bunny is cool. A little naive, but generally all right.
The Northern Bunny is a Yankee. I won't say what kind of Yankee because I don't use that kind of language, but you know what kind of Yankee he is.
The Southern Bunny can't talk to you right now because he just found another place where he can squeeze in another Dollar general store.

i live in georgia, and have a few of those notorious southern bunnies living in my backyard.
as far as colored eggs, if the southern bunnies i have layed eggs, i doubt the eggs would be very colorful.
the southern bunnies are gray and brown with some white. kind of drab colors..
