There was a historian i saw once in History channel @Squigglylines who said that most Americans have no memory of the country's past history.
He called it "The United States of Amnesia".

I don't remember who he was because i saw this like 15 years ago when he was discussing 9.11 and the events that lead up to it.
But he had a good grasp of the whole ACTION -> REACTION idea.

You mean like how this woman was thrown in jail for 12 days.
Canadian citizen Jasmine Mooney is still trying to process being back home in B.C. after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained her at the U.S. border in San Diego.
“I haven’t slept in a while and haven’t eaten proper food well, so I’m just really going through the motions,” Mooney told Global News after touching down at Vancouver’s International Airport on the weekend.
“Getting back here was, it’s just been a lot.”
Mooney, originally from Vancouver, tried to enter the U.S. from Mexico at the San Diego border last Monday.
“I was reapplying for my work visa and with no warning about what was about to happen I was taken by ICE,” Mooney told an ABC News 10 San Diego reporter last week from the detention centre where she was being held.

does a visa expire for all countries other than your own, once it expires?

They have not deported 20 million yet.
Not for her those, 12 days were sleeping on cement floor.
Seems to me if she was at a border crossing she would have had her passport.
She is Canadian that is a big mistake.
The process is you send the person back to their country, they are not arrested without due process.
No, I don't believe so. Each country has it's own laws I believe. Canada's laws are actually stricter because of the free healthcare. But if you're a Canuck in the US and your Visa expires you have to leave. I don't think people understand how serious it is. Maybe not so under Biden because he wasn't running the country and didn't care who came and went.
I'm actually pretty familiar with Canada's immigration laws as i've mentioned to @Magenta too.
I have a cousin who lives in Toronto.
Canada's immigration laws are 10 times stronger than American immigration laws. At least up to Biden.
Now Trump is making them closer to Canada's restrictions.

Well, I hope she can get some kind of therapy and hopefully forgive the US Border Patrol for making such a mistake. Being forced to go somewhere like that, is potentially life altering.

Not for her, how many does this need to happen to for it to be significant, do you have a metric when it becomes significant.
More excuses, she was CANADIAN and people are not thrown in jail for 12 days for an issue with VISA they are sent back to their country of origin.

I once was detained at Chicago Midland Airport because my passport had a little damage and even that was frightening, but at least I knew they were just going to send me home, not throw me in prison for 12 days.
Sorry, most people here always make excuses for bad policy under Trump, sincerely sorry to lumping you in with the others.
Well you know, live and learn as the saying goes.
Without knowing anything about this case, all i can say is live and learn.
For example, i don't go ANYWHERE without a valid ID, internally in United States, never mind externally.
And if people wrong you despite trying to follow the laws of every country, explore other legal options to get justice.
