I’d like to hear other Christian takes on this matter. I’m sure there are pros and maybe more cons? I can think of a few pros but I’m definitely not going to name them in public. Are other Christian’s bold enough to add more pros or cons?
I agree, how is it that the US government with a budget in the trillions of dollars does not have a very strict protocol for auditing tax payer money? If you gave me $10,000 to go spend for a business you would expect a careful accounting of how that money was spent. If your business spends $7 million a year you would have a full time accountant handling the books. The US government spends 7 trillion dollars a year. That is a million times more than this small business. It is incredible that this process of looking for fraud and waste is not already in place and that DOGE was able to find so much fraud and waste.
I’m confused about what DOGE is. Isn’t that the name of the cryptocurrency that Elon dips in and out of, so the masses will buy in and he sells once it reaches a certain peak because he knows that a bunch of people out there idolize him?
I haven’t been following along for a while, as politics tend to cause me to fear and I’d rather have peace.
Department of Government Efficiency -- They look for waste, fraud and abuse in the US budget to save taxpayers money.
I agree that there is tremendous waste in the government but Musk is using a chain saw to eliminate what he considers waste. It is best to use a scalpel. He really has no authority to fire anyone in government service yet Trump is on the sidelines doing nothing about it.
Thousands of workers have been fired yet thousands that were fired were, out of necessity, called back. Don't understand cutting the VA, Social Security staff / offices, and talks about cutting Medicare. I'm on Social Security as is my wife, and now, due to Musk's rash actions, are worried that our direct deposits are going to be late, or, due to allowing a 19 year old to mess with the coding, to disappear.
Trump needs to relieve Musk of his advisory position, and appoint a bi-partisan panel to recommend what is truly wasteful and implement a solution.
Start with defense spending - that is where most of the waste is. Defense department should purchase common items such as hammers, and toilet seats from existing US manufacturers. Currently, regardless of the item, each item has to be designed from scratch which leads to tremendous costs. Ridiculous.
I'm a Republican but Trump has been a big disappointment so far. Congress needs to start speaking up, demanding answers, and offering solutions to the problems facing the nation.
Im on SSI also. There are kickbacks there as with every dept. in government. Payments to dead people, able bodied people recieving medicaid. Im all for cleaning it up. Its been going on far to long. The liberals cry about every move Trump makes. I have to wonder what they are afraid of. Its certainly isnt fear for the country as after the last four years we have been circling the drain.
I don't understand cutting VA social security staff/offices either. Some times people, especially elderly or even mentally ill adults of any age, need to go into a building to talk to someone because technology can be a bother. I am 37 years old and technology is already becoming a bother..
I don't see why cutting medicare or social security would solve anything, especially for those who worked for it and paid their taxes throughout their life, on social security tax and medicare tax. I can see setting that law for a younger age bracket and lower but not for everyone who literally spent their life for that end of life security.

Trump Derangement Syndrome might be a thing, however, seems to me that the ardent "Donaldo Devotees" are yup the same on the flip side.
