1 Thessalonians 5:11

  • "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing"
Hebrews 10:24-25

  • "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another"
Hebrews 3:13

  • "Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called 'Today,' so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness"
Other Bible passages that encourage others:
    • 1 Thessalonians 4:18, which says, "Therefore encourage one another with these words"
    • Acts 15:32, which describes how Judas and Silas encouraged and strengthened believers
    • John 17:21-23, which describes how believers can be one in another so that the world may believe in Jesus
I emplore everyone to think upon these verses

Will do, for even though we want to demolish arguments that contradict Christ,
our desire is for building up rather than bringing down. (Cf. 2CR 10:5&8)

Blain? Do you realize that being nice was not the modus operandi for demolishing arguments that Paul spoke of doing?

Paul used to infuriate (when need be) those opposing the Truth.

When we get stuck in the "Christians must always be nice-mode", that nothing gets done.
It is the opponent to truth that will demand that you treat them right, or they won't listen,
who will wear you out with never ending directionless meanderings.

Galatians 5:11-12

11~~ And I, brethren,
if I yet preach circumcision
- and I do NOT preach circumcision -
why do I yet suffer persecution?
Then is the offence of the cross
rendered null and void!

Legalists were saying Paul 'really' preached circumcision and Paul denied it here.

12~~ I wish that they {the legalists}
'would cut it ALL OFF'/'were even castrated'
{those legalists} which/who trouble you!

This was Paul's sarcasm.

The Jewish legalists said 'cut off a little piece for salvation' (circumcism). Paul said why stop there? Cut it all off!

Sanctified Sarcasm!

The sin of arrogance was not recognized and acknowledged to God as to restore them to the filling of the Spirit! (1 John 1:9)

If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary
to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.

Galatians 5:15-17

Ignorance of God's Word's meaning, is often at the bottom of these clan quarrels.
They will find teachers to tell them what their flesh feels comfortable with.

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.
Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great
number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 2 Tim 4:3
In their flesh, they think they are being faithful to God by sticking to what they been taught and want to believe.

Quite often.... when first exposed to sound teaching? We discover how easy it was to be wrong about something.
When that happens? That is when we enter into the process of working out our salvation in fear and trembling!
No longer sure of what we believe until we have done the job of proving all things, which can take too long a time
for the impatient who want to feel confident and secure right now.

Their old way to confidence has been ripped out from beneath them by God.
That is when they work themselves up in the old ways of how they used to convince themselves ..
Which never can satisfy those who have become regenerate.
So, they get angry and jealous of those who have been maturing as God would have them to grow in Christ.

Remember. Many are saved. Only few mature.

grace and peace ............

I was thinking of some scene where it was said "his eyes wide open". Lol then the song just started "all I see". Here... I am no ones preacher/teacher so its not what anyone else does but what am I doing. I live the example. All I can say.. I have no clue about any slander and don't care to hear it.

We are one in Christ. Yes we can pick out some moments that we don't like or question. The good here outweighs all the rest. Out of all the things a certain preacher did Christ replied "oh but do you know all the good he does for me"

Haha.. was remembering back in Collage where we all lived in this old Church guys up stairs girls down stairs. There was one guy who was 1 year older then me and haha I was to listen to him because he was my elder in the lord. Always makes me laugh. Just.. ok praise GOD.

Yes, and my own life began in ignorance of GW thanks to pastors who mainly preached the Gospel so I was very
uncomfortable sharing my testimony because of not being able to explain the reasons for believing as I did.
Fortunately I began reading the Bible rather than sticking with teachers who taught denominational dogma.

You want everybody to treat everybody nice all the time?

You can be quite blunt, yet respectful, when attempting to get someone to focus on what they keep squirming away from.

Even Jesus was seen as quite brutal when dealing with those sticking to what amounted distraction and denial of a real issue.

Even with women. Jesus could be quite abrupt, and to the point.

Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there.
And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.”
As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out,
“Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.”
He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

Luke 11:26-28

Sounds so nice and sweet?

Jesus (in the Greek) was rebuking her, indicating that she did wrong.
For she had interrupted the most important thing for our lives.
She interrupted His teaching of the Word of God.

It should read more like the following:

He replied, “Wrong! Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and GUARD it.”

There comes a time when God wants to prepare Christians for spiritual battle...
And, God's Word will at times act like a drill sergeant to get us to focus on what is needed to demolish what
stands against the mind of Christ!

That also means? You can have a smile on your face, and in an attitude of reasonableness, yet still push down
on the plunger to activate the explosives of logic you expressed under their feet.

Wise as a serpent... yet harmless as a dove.
That takes much learning of accurate Bible doctrine...

Which requires suffering needed in the process of enduring the time required by God to bring you
to where God can have you can stand sure (and tranquil) in the face of opposition with evil understandings.
Ideas that wish to be raised up and established for enemy strongholds.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ,
after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make
you strong, firm and steadfast. 1 Peter 5:10

A thousand years is as second to God.
Likewise, a little while can amount to a few years in God's eternal thinking.

We need to:
Endure in taking in more and more sound teaching of God's Word.
Endure, even if it seems there will be no end to the unhappiness or loneliness.
We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well
to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark, dismal, depressing place, until the day
dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 2 Peter 1:19

God does not tap us with a magic wand to cause us instant happiness.
Though we might have had an initial joy that we experienced in amazement of first discovering salvation is real!
Initial joy, is like a baby in the crib, babbling and gurgling happily.

But, that same baby needs to eventually grow up to become an adult in Christ.
No longer to be like a baby.
And, if God has his way with that believer? Having him reach maturity?
Entering that person into sharing in God's happiness even while on earth.

Grace and peace...

Most pastors do not know what to teach means. Most congregations are in the same boat with them.
No one knows why it's all not making sense....

Those who can teach will be found by those whom the Spirit is able to guide.

God keeps his faithful ones covert unless called into action when needed.

With the art of fighting without fighting
As Jesus went willingly without fighting or asking anyone to join in and fight against the illegal prosecution they did not him
When he was risen he made and open spectacle of them, those that got him crucified. Wow, Woe is me as I see those tongs from the Holy Fire taken from the Fire, and put on my unclean lips as Isaiah said in Chapter 6:1-7
Next = nectar is now provided from our risen savior unto Father to see the two as One )Won) for us thanks Blain, seeing truth as God just loves us all amazing to be different from heathen when they see we love them anyways, and do not fight back of the firs born flesh and blood nature, expelling those evil thoughts, that somehow, evil knows how to supplant them as if ours, when they are not
Learning this truth still

That had to happen to fulfill prophesy.
So? Apples and oranges.
Not applicable for all situations.

That's how legalists get trapped once the opposition recognizes their rigidity of thinking.

The disrespect you witness to?

Does it have a usual cause?
