as a book conisseuir, I am surprised ive never heard of six of crows.
benedict soc. is great. my favorite book was the prequel about the benedict himself.

Oh, yeah, the prequel is great! I haven't read it in a while so it might be time for a reread

And Six of Crows is kind of in the shadows for some reason. The author has a really popular series called Shadow and Bone. Six of Crows is in the same universe, and it takes place after the events of the first series. But I loved it so much better, and when I look online, everyone who is a fan of the universe loves Six of Crows more than Shadow and Bone.

Yeah, I don't mind at all

My family is atheist, but I wasn't completely uneducated about Christianity. I remember when I was really young, I would "pray" to God, wondering if he was there, even though I didn't really believe it because the people around me didn't.

However, recently, I started seeing all these Christian videos on Youtube, and I also started talking to someone online who was Christian. She started telling me about Jesus, and I sort of started to believe but obviously because of the way I was brought up, I wasn't completely sure.

A few days later, I had a really big project in school that I needed to bring in a coin for. But on the day I needed to bring it, it totally slipped my mind and I forgot it at home. When I got to that class, I was starting to panic but then I saw a coin lying on the ground not too far away from me. I immediately picked it up and when I looked at it, the very first thing I saw on the coin was the phrase "In God we trust".

That was so powerful to me, and at that moment, I just felt his presence. I started learning everything that I could. I guess the realization that he has always been there for me and loved me, even when I wasn't a believer, just made me desire to build a relationship with him and get closer to him.

Yes, 100%

It's definitely been helping me answer the "Why?" questions about everything. I'm seeing the reason behind my purpose in life more. It opened my eyes to the beauty of our world and changed my mindset from "I have to do this" to "I GET to do this". I've just really been appreciating everything and everyone more.

Honestly my faith has helped me become a better person. It makes me kinder and more patient, and it makes me feel like I'm part of something bigger than myself if that makes sense

I grew up in a church and my parents always forced me to go.
As I've gotten older, the thought of church wasn't really amusing and the thought of having a relationship with God wasn't something on my mind.

Growing up I never really talked to God like I should have. Like I knew of him but I didn't know him. I only prayed to him when I wanted something and that was it. And when I didn't get what I wanted I always blamed him and got so mad at him.

And then about 2 years ago I was lying in my room and I was scrolling on tiktok and I came across this video about Jesus. Next thing I know I was crying and sobbing, asking him to forgive me of my sins and feeling so guilty of everything I've done.
And ever since then I've been working really hard to build my relationship with him. I was so deep in sin. It was really bad. I struggled alot with Lust but ever since I've gotten to know God, I've found myself not even having those thoughts. He really is amazing♥

I love how you were able to realize that you didn't truly know him, and that you were able to start getting closer to him. I think it really shows how in the end, we have to be the ones to find God and decide what we want to believe. Obviously, how we're brought up has an impact on it. But like you said, you were only saved after asking for repentance and actively starting to seek him, despite being in the church your whole life. And I was able to start building a relationship with him despite my family being atheists. It sort of shows just how personal and intimate our connection with the Lord is, which I think is really beautiful.

I made a 2 layer king cake....kinda an experiment.
Bottom layer is cream cheese filling and top layer is a cinnamon roll braid. (Both are fairly common)

The bread itself is a brioche with LOTS of butter and eggs worked into a fairly sweet dough (lots of sugar).

I'm about to top it with the frosting glaze and colored sugars.

I stuffed a Baby into it as well....before it proofed. So it's baked into it somewhere.
Like I said....it's an experiment and I'm not exactly sure how it will turn out....I'm hoping for success but expecting disaster all at the same time.
I have to make something several times before I get really good at it. But I have made bread ALOT for years. So.....maybe.

Cinnamon Pecan praline is a popular flavor....so is cream cheese. These breads/cakes are filled with just about everything except savory items. Dried fruits, chocolate mousse, lemon, orange....you name it someone has used it and/or currently selling it.

Walmart had some for sale out of their bakery.....I took one look and said "yuck" and decided to make one. (Several actually) the green, gold, and purple sugar/glazes are necessary....

Where Walmart had king cakes....no babies, bead necklaces, or anything else for Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras was available. I barely found colored sugars.

why, God? why have so many of us had to become so broken before finding you? why could we not find you young, and live in your truth all our lives? why must we be torn down to be built back up? why, God?

I know, but I would never have found God/my relationship with him wouldn't be as strong if I hadn't been that way beforehand. I guess it's because God's love being the thing to pull us out of a dark time makes us view him as a much more essential aspect of our lives than if he had just been an add-on to our already pretty good situations.

I would nevr feel so loved if I had not rejected christs love for three years, during which i was in porn, and worse, self-harmed, tried to kill myself, but then it HIT me. all this time, all my life, he has been so, so faithgul, alll my life, so goog.
and all of a sudden, I realized. and things started to get better. not all at once, I still harmed for months, and still was a porn addict, and still tried to kill myself, but now I am healing, and all this time i am healing.
and right now, as I write this, I am overcome by his love, and find it hard to type, physically.
