LOL, you are an optimist. I on the other hand would say "the war goes nuclear here", the mineral deal fulfills the Lord's word that "they will say peace and security followed by sudden destruction". What you call "big boy" politics I simply call two Mafiosos fighting over who will get more heat in hell.
Well if the war goes nuclear then I would say it be better for us to be the ones that shoot first so that Russia cannot retaliate and then we will have peace via nuke. This is a potential that is always on the table though. The chance to end a war of this scope by diplomacy is a chance that rarely comes around, it could be even said that this is a major miracle worthy of praises to Jesus that we even get this chance to begin with and have gotten as far as we did, so it is worth pursuing it and to keep trying. So far signs are looking good, there is tangible movement towards the peace via diplomacy route happening so it's not just wishful thinking or optimism. Though it could still fall apart all that will mean is just continuing the war as they have been doing or even escalating it, so it is worth trying this. Blessed will be the peacemakers, praise Jesus.
