@ZNP, if i could give you a recap - this whole thing about Ukraine being the 2nd most powerful army in Europe is a bit of an ongoing joke with this "new" girl from Texas who just joined the forum. 
She said that Ukraine is the second most powerful army in Europe.
After laughing at this, i said that Turkey is the 2nd most powerful army in Europe.
Then this other new member who wants to defend the girl from Texas is pulling some stats, and the joke again is that Ukraine doesn't even make number 2 anywhere.
Point is, Ukraine is NOT the second most powerful army in Europe but we can always re-run this joke.

I think there is truth to what @Intersection has been posting. With the debt the way it is I just do not get this .. makes no sense.

Just my thought also here. It may be that our sister @Texasgal is of Ukrainian descent. She could be reading Ukrainian sources.

A lot of people here have known each other for years even before I got here about 2 years ago.
Many members are friends, or they would be if they were in real life.

On all the paperwork I fill out for the Government I scratch out all the silly stuff they suggest for my birthplace and ethnicity and just write Earthling,Milky-way. I'm a history buff, I would be asking a whole lot of questions which I'm sure would be annoying.

I think he would like to restore the status, be a great power country, but I do not see it as expansionist.
The situation with Ukraine has a long history and it is not black and white.
When he was young the former USSR still existed but by the time he grew older and rose to importance in the KGB the USSR had broken apart into separate nations. Sort of like people like Biden,Bush,Trump ect. rising into their wildest dreams only to find the US had disbanded and they were only the King of Texas.
