.... and I would add, stop giving away billions to people that illegally enter our country, just to be leeches on the system. How bout we take care of actual citizens first, like those in N Carolina? Then, if Cali gets their crazy policies straightened out, help them. That should keep the government busy enough...

Amen. Trump's followers still have not figured out that everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie. He speaks with confidence and people just accept it because they can't believe he would ever betray them. But that's what conmen do, they get your confidence then they use you for whatever they can get.
The Donald is trapped in the Gilded Age (1870-1910). High tariffs were used during this period because there was no income tax (tariffs are paid by importers into the coffers of the federal government). Trump is either hopelessly deluded or intentionally lying by saying the exporting nations pay the tariffs. Great way to get votes: let's stick it to China and make them pay high tariffs.
Tariffs don't help the economy or consumers. What Donald is doing is trying to bring in more cash for the federal government so he can slash benefits to people and programs he doesn't like; and have a way to pay for the tax breaks he's going to give his ultra-wealthy buddies.
