Hello
I have a musician friend (who happens to be an atheist after an upbringing from a mother who wouldn't let him listen to secular music) who challenged me to make an album after having a wife leave and subsequently alienate my children. He said "You've been through a lot, you should write about it."
I did so (I play guitar, a tiny bit of piano, but I can't sing) and thankfully had a friend on the worship team who took my music and lyrics and made melodies and sang it for me.
The interesting thing is my musician friend's friend engineered/recorded it for me and they both commented (we recorded it instrumentally and had no vocalist at that session) how each song sounded peaceful/chill (there are a couple harder rock tracks, but ultimately it's true). At that point I knew I had to use the entire recording as a type of musical tract to share faith in God with others.
It's now mixed and mastered (65 minutes long - 37 tracks, every other track is narration with music behind it) and residing on boombox.io.
My vision is to get a video that accompanies it and to have it used as an outreach tool at churches.

Is there anyone out there who is good with videos or know someone who is who may want to create something pro bono as a ministry? I'm sure it's a longshot. Let me know...

Hello! We had a member here who turned quite a few of his poems into videos with music, and he
tried to tell me how to do it, and gave at least one program name, but it was too complicated for me
LOL. However, if you check his post stream, or even mine with his name in the search field, you could
explore the conversations we had around this topic. I would alert him to your thread so you could
talk to him yourself, but he has not been here since last fall. You can however start with
this thread (<= link).

Welcome!
:)

I appreciate it Magenta.
I followed the link - most the video examples are gone, but I did see one.
It is nice, but not what I'm going for.
I'm hoping to get a video that corresponds to the story being told, so there's characters in it as well as scenery.
Probably too much to ask.

You are welcome, and as I said, most of what he shared with me was beyond my ability/patience level, although I did want
to try it out for some of my own poems... and I think he did say he had some control over the imagery he was choosing. He
went into quite a bit of detail in one of his threads about how he accomplished what he did vid-wise... Oh!!!

@ForgiveMeGod might be able to help you... as he has also put his music to videos...

I'm keeping this close to my vest, as mentioned.
But I will share the title track if it helps.
Not the best or worst of the album (at least in my opinion) but it helps set the stage.

Nice song.

Style reminds me of Randy Stonehill or Pray For Rain.

Subject matter reminds me of Casting Crowns: American Dream.

Can't help you with making a video, and it was well done enough that I don't even have any suggestions about the audio arrangement. But I did want to comment that it's a nice song.

Appreciate the kind words! And - have to say again - great ears! "Fight" by Pray for Rain is my favorite song of theirs and definitely the inspiration for the vibe of this track.

You know about PFR?

Everybody seems to know about them... Now that I found that dusty old CD at the thrift store. Before I found that CD, nobody ever mentioned PFR to me!

WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THIS GROUP? I wish I had heard of them long before I went to that thrift store!

That’s true no one talks about them! I have to give my ex credit as I was newly saved and she suggested them when I was looking for something that would hold up to the secular stuff I liked.

I heard the Them CD first and it’s my favorite of theirs (not a fan of the later output as much). Quite a strong album.
