How in the world does somebody gift themselves with eternal life whereby they can take the credit?
First, "take credit" is probably not exactly the best phrasing. I used it for expediency. But the gist is kinda the same.

Secondly, I never said anyone was taking credit for being gifted Eternal Life. I said gifted the FAITH to believe the Gospel

Many yrs here I've asked basiclly the same question.

How does a dead person choose Life, by believing in Jesus? We WERE Spiritually dead. For the very most part, I get some wishy washy answer that boils down to us being "mostly Dead" But just alive enough to choose Him. I find that absurd.

It is the EXACT reason Jesus had to come and die for us to begin with. Jesus HIMSELF tells us the lost are DEAD walking amongst us.

Note that Jesus doesn't tell the believer in this passage to go and preach the Truth to his father.

Matthew 8:22

New King James Version
22 But Jesus said to him, “Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”

Jesus is saying to let unbelievers bury OTHER unbelievers, because both are Spiritually dead.

So since we are ALL Spiritually dead, NONE of us can CHOOSE to become alive. A dead man can do NOTHING.
God is the One that gifted us the Faith, and quickened our souls to believe, when we heard the Gospel.

THAT, is why some believe, while others don't. NOT because we are smarter, better, or more moral people than they.

I am giving God ALL the credit for saving me.
Let me put it another way:

Did God design, plan and then COMMAND the Israelites conduct the Passover Lamb ritual in Egypt in order to live?
Yes.

Could the Israelites IN ANY WAY take credit for accepting God's Lamb, by which their lives were spared?
Of course not.

And BTW, any Israelite could CHOOSE to accept or CHOOSE to deny the very act that would save their life.

***********************************************************
Does the Calvinite dogma IN ANY WAY concatenate with the OT rituals and types and narratives?
No, not at all, not in the least. It is predicated upon nothing more than vain useless Greek pseudo-philosophy.

Beware the leaven of the Calvinites.

showing me that without Him I am eternally lost with the ability to believe in Him so I was able to choose His gift.
Yes. He "showed" you by gifting you the FAITH to believe.

THAT, is how you were able to choose Him.

I'm not aware of any Jews that didn't cover their doorposts with lambs blood. I'm sure the other 9 plagues was a great motivator. But IF they did, it was because GOD did not gift them with the Faith to do it.

Be careful man. I think that you are dipping out of the Calvinite punchbowl.

Do you see that in your post? You know.......long winded "maybes" and "could go either way" meanderings?
You know.....endless moving targets? Never getting the right answer......or any answer?

Well guess what. I do not have that problem. Zero problems. I get it. No problemo. Done. Solved. Nailed it down.
No need for further debate its over man.

Luck me huh?

You are going to have to pull a rabbit out of your hat to prove that idea man.
Good luck.

Yep sure did, according to Gods perfect plan.

So God never harden Pharaohs heart? God had nothing at all to do with His perfect plan right? Man your thirst to prove Gods weakness is a obsession and a sickness, honestly a character flaw. You just can't stop lifting up man and lowering God in arrogance with your nose in the air. A real sickness.
Get a clue buddy. Maybe you missed the boat, but all of this matter has been concluded.
Spend an hour or three, track it all down, and find out how wrong you really are.

Exo 3:19
And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.

It’s funny, I very rarely hear the Calvinists (I don’t consider myself one) with vitriol against other Christians. They just win most of their arguments with Scripture.

But I noticed you didn’t address the points made in my post.

How does a dead man choose Jesus?

And how about Jesus Himself addressing the issue by telling the dead to bury their own dead?

I am thankful I did believe because those that reject God end up as Romans 1 explain with a reprobate mind.
Suffering from terminal serpent bite poisoning, guaranteed to be eternally fatal.
The cure is readily available. To anybody. Anytime.

[Num 21:8 KJV]
And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

[Num 21:9 KJV]
And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

How does a dead man DYING MAN choose Jesus?
By looking at the Bronze Serpent on a pole.
Nothing could be simpler.

JUST - LIKE - THIS ***DYING MAN***

[Luk 23:42 KJV]
And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

Did the Calvintes fail to ahhhmmmm.....REMEMBER all of these glorious types, symbols and narratives?
Or did they intentionally ignore them to boost their bogus doctrines?

Looking healed them or God healed them because they responded in faith to His word?

I wouldn't quite call that a "philosophical chaos bomb".
Maybe a "philosophical chaos fart"?
The same words are used, but to them it means something different.

Calvinists say they believe men are “responsible” but what they are really saying is "men are justly punished"

If they say "responded in faith" the part they omit is they were "first regenerated to respond in faith."
