No he did not. You can't even define what the sin nature is that he could take it upon himself. The guilt for our sins was credited to him and his righteousness was credited to us.

If Christ became sin then he would no longer be holy. On the other hand, sin offerings were most holy and they are a shadow of Christ
Brother i know the bible is in no error for teaching and correction and God knows I have tried with you today,
so where ever else you're getting biblical information from get out of there quickly. God bless.

Ephesians 2:3 "among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others"

So do you still think after what Jesus took upon himself for you and me left us still walking around with sin nature...?

If you don't understand the doctrine of original sin brother, i suggest brushing up on it..

Our sins are dealt with on the cross. We are forgiven. Of course we dont just go on sinning as we did before we were born again. I personally do frequent repentance sessions with the Lord, not that I am not forgiven, or am unsaved, but when I become aware of having sinned, I repent quickly. I dont want to sin, but my flesh is not born again. My spirit is perfect and sinless but my flesh is not.

A christians life with Jesus is like a marriage. So if you were going to marry your bride and she said to you "well I will be faithful to you most of the time. But there is this one guy that I don't want to give up! So I will marry you and only spend a couple of weekends with him. Well how would you feel about that? Do have all of your brides heart? NO you don't! She what's to keep some of that old stuff and not give all her heart to you! When we look and sin in our lives it shows how much we don't love God! How can you say I love God and still commit sin in your life. You love your sin more than you love God! How dark and evil this is. We can change and give Him all our heart and love him with everything we are! We make a decision to do this and decide to stop the sin! The truth is in our decisions! Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength!

1 John 1:9

(New King James Version)

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness".

So I hear a lot of Christians refence this passage thinking they have to go to God for His forgiveness every time they sin. Reads like that, but is that what the passage is really meaning??

First off, notice the word sins is mentioned twice in this passage. The first sins is actually singular and meaning qualitative describing the nature of sin. The second sins is plural meaning quantitative which is describing the works of the flesh. So when you place those meanings into the passage, it will now read...

"If we confess our sin nature, He is faithful and just to forgive our works of the flesh and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"

So once we have this understanding, we now know who John is speaking about, people who haven't turned to Christ from sin and not people who have turned to Christ from sin..
So why am I bringing this up??? To help my fellow Christians understand that our past, present and future sins were ALL taking care of on our cross by Christ. I promise you, He never missed one or that you forgot to share one with Him! I promise you that your salvation will not be lost if you forgot one sin to confess and hope that brings peace to someone who was concerned or living in constant worry.

With that said, does that now mean we can just keep on sinning? NO. In fact if you believe you can, then I urge you to examine your heart asap before you join in on your next Communion. Jesus said the righteous will stumble seven times ( meaning continuously making mistakes until spiritual maturity is complete). Dying to self (old sin nature)is all apart of sanctification. I am assuming you look at the cross (un-like Catholics) and notice that God is no longer hanging on our cross, why? Because the work is DONE, you have been FORGIVEN!
But wait.. don't we have to confess to God about our sin we did about an hour ago or last week? My response to that is, yes confession is good, but what do you think God would say about the forgiveness part? Again, Jesus is no longer on the cross anymore meaning.... when you go to your cross with your sin you did today or yesterday, instead of looking for forgiveness, THANK GOD and PRAISE GOD His forgiveness has already been given and that you weren't the one who was placed on your cross. You see, when you keep asking God for forgiveness because of sin like some Christians believe this passage means, it's saying to God that you don't believe Christs work was enough for all time.

Satan can and will use this passage to keep you in a constant uncertainty and at worst doubt of the work Jesus has already done and the forgiveness we have already been given for all time and all sins,
Please feel free to jump in and let me know your thoughts, God bless.
This is about fellowship. Not salvation and justification. We will never perish. We have eternal life. We are His sheep.

But, as believers, we can grieve or quench the Spirit with our sin OR our human good(good done through the flesh/evil.) We need to name and site any known sin to God to get back into fellowship with God.

If we confess our known sin to Him He will forgive us (return to fellowship) AND He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness(Unknown sins and human good/evil.)

Thanks.. John was talking not to believers but to Gnostics who believed they had no sin. Now I know I have been forgiven.. even in Eph "forgive one another even as God for Christs sake has forgiven you". So I know who John was talking to yet there is truth here. Rev Christ is talking to? Yeah a Church that left its first love and was lukewarm. I know He already died for their sin yet He said repent. As Paul said GODFORBID we do not have the right to freely sin. Christ died I died.. Christ rose I rose..oh man time to shout!

I understand on this subject one must look where they are and walk softly. I will say this about "hyper grace" in my 50+ years walking with the lord I have only come across one Chruch that believe they can do what ever they want sin or not and its ok. The ones that get hit mostly by "Christians" I took the time to watch and listen from their mouth. One preacher you could tell how it really effected hurt him to hear the things his brothers and sisters said about just them which was not true. Never said you can freely sin.. never said you never have to repent... said you have to blah blah blah.

Trust me.. how we talk about each other.. He really takes notice. Forgive one another as GOD for Christ sake "has" forgiven you. Divide a few or allot.. we still will fail.

So John was talking not to believers at the start yet what he was fact.. it came from the sweet holy Spirit. What matters most is.. do YOU know Christ as lord and savior...... I truly 100% believe they all in heaven have not stopped rejoicing that Christ came to earth.

Sorry.. some things just stood out in this tread so I touched on it.

1 John 1:9

(New King James Version)

Yes.

In this passage, they're both plural. The original translation is accurate re: sins. Then second "our" is italicized because it's interpreting an article - "the" - which is in the Greek that is referring back to "our sins" that we confess/acknowledge to God when we (Christians) sin.

So once we have this understanding, we now know who John is speaking about, people who haven't turned to Christ from sin and not people who have turned to Christ from sin..
John is explaining how to have the dynamic relationship with God and one another that has been provided for Christians. He's explaining what this walk in the light - where God is - entails for Christians. If we want continuous cleansing from sins from Christ's blood, then we keep walking in the light with God and one another which includes acknowledging to God any sins we commit in order to receive His forgiveness of them and His cleansing of all unrighteousness (which John later explains is sin 1J5:17). Some say this cleansing is of sins we are not aware of.

This is all about this dynamic relationship with God and one another and being trained about sin and righteousness. When spiritually young we'll find ourselves confessing sins almost constantly as He brings them to our attention. Over time as we grow and advance to maturity, we'll find ourselves needing to do this less and we'll be learning the deeper issues we have that God is working out of us over time. It's an excellent routine that teaches us about sin and how God is raising and training us and working in us to experientially sanctify us. If we're not listening and learning from Him and not confessing as He desires, we'll find ourselves in perfect discipline by a perfect Father who knows how to make us listen.

So why am I bringing this up??? To help my fellow Christians understand that our past, present and future sins were ALL taking care of on our cross by Christ. I promise you, He never missed one or that you forgot to share one with Him! I promise you that your salvation will not be lost if you forgot one sin to confess and hope that brings peace to someone who was concerned or living in constant worry
We as Christians still need the constant experiential cleansing of Christ's blood and forgiveness and cleansing from our Father as we walk in the light in Spirit with Him. As John proceeds into 1J2:1 he adds the advocacy of the righteous Jesus Christ. This is all courtroom language. We have our advocate standing with us when we confess our sins/unrighteousness/lawlessness to our Father. If we're not doing what is required of us, then we're not walking in the light.

We confess what we know. We're forgiven what we confess and cleansed of all. Over time we grow and do more and more righteousness so less and less sin. Part of the mark of the mature is that they're able to identify any sin and assist others who have been caught up in sin and thereby fulfill the Law of Christ (Heb5; Gal6).

This is important teaching for the Christian Life - our walk in the light in Spirit in Christ.

Hyper grace teachers won't usually say they have a license to sin; that's not the focus of their teaching. They bring up the license to sin thing as a red herring and say: "What are you talking about? I don't believe that, how can I be hyper grace?" Hyper grace in a nutshell is this: An overemphasis on God's grace at the expense of everything else; and by "everything else" I mean scriptures that disprove their unsound notions.

The main thing with hyper grace is the idea that when a person gets get saved, all sins—past, present and future—are forgiven; therefore, no further need to confess our sins is necessary because they're already forgiven. The only problem with that is it isn't scriptural and they have to twist, distort and ignore all kinds of scriptures to get where they want to go.

My dear brother, that is instructions and or a blue print given by God on HOW TO PRAY. Just to clarify, it was never given as an actual prayer so not too sure why you posted it....
So, when Jesus said "Pray thus," He lied to us, right?

You might want or care to see those verses in context when written. It was before the cross, it was while Jesus himself was under Law, fulfilling Law for us the people. Anything written prior to the resurrected Christ is under Law, before the cross, before his resurrection where new life begins in the kids of God that will not stop belief to this truth given them at no charge to them from God through his one and only Son for us to be adopted in, by belief to God Father in this truth, then the new comes through each as born again as did the disciples on Pentecost and people truly chose to be saved by God not any other person. without any rituals, even though rituals got done after salvation came first to them
You seem to have an angst against OSAS (People you have seen take for granted this salvation given them and sin anyways, haven't you?) it is God that does the new in people over time in not giving up, it is not people, it is done by Son for us (John 19:30) then it is true, God comes through and I leave Law alone, trusting God to do the Law through me in love to all
And God does it, to all the see to be dead to self daily in trust for God to love all as Son has done first on that cross once for us all (Hebrews 10:10) no on e has been left out to choose to believe God or not, everyone chosen to choose, thank you

No where in the Bible after the resurrection do any gof the disciples ask for any more forgiveness to get given them, and I know as well as you know this too, they did sin again after belief too God in risen Son for them, I know ow I have, and that why he came to put an end to it for us to just love all in mercy and truth given us by God in the Holy Spirit leading not us anymore, at least me thanks
So, you are saying that once saved, we can sin and not worry about that sin separating us from God? We need not worry that the indwelling Holy Spirit will care about us sinning?

So, I guess Scripture was wrong when it said God will not abide with sin, huh?

Wow! That shoots the ENTIRE Gospel of Jesus right out of the water! So much for there being a Christian Faith, huh?

EVERY word Jesus spoke was FOR THE CHURCH/THOSE WHO BELIEVED IN HIM!

I strongly disagree that we need not worry about what Jesus taught during His Ministry.

Luke 18 :13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner."

sinner = the root of his nature which = qualitative measure

I hope this helps you..
Not really, because a sinner is one who commits sins, so both need to be confessed.

Are we sinners because we sin or do we sin because we are sinners?? what do you think?
Of the first born flesh we are sinners, yet all are first born with the knowledge of good and evil. to choose good (God) over evil (Flesh) Most seem to have chosen evil, many hiding as if are believers and are not, I see this in the first born flesh nature of people that claim and do not do the same as claim, and have seen God get the blame the same as that began in the first chosen unbelief to death of the first Adam and Eve. Was not me Lord, it was?
The Spirit of God left the first Adam, and death has come to all flesh, as it seems no flesh wants to die, yet all flesh dies, and still fights, even in me, daily.
Might be best to reckon self the first birth as dead already in the death of Son for them to be alive in his resurrection and do as led by God over self or any other flesh person.
Such a perplexity that only Father, Dad, can teach, not me, thanks
Thanking God for God's done work of Son for me to enter in and be freed from evil, wow!
Love and mercy is to us all y'all

Unfortunately you not putting things in place of when it was happening. When Christ came to earth and started the ministry, was Christ under Law?
Yes or no?
There is a before the cross and an after the Cross, Hebrews 11
Faith is the evidence of things not seen, Christ fulfilled the Law and Prophets that prophesied about his coming to redeem us in God Father's Spirit and Truth]. The Law had to be fulfilled first
Sorry you do not see this and That is okay, all in my Father's timing not my own or anyone else's either
When he died willingly, did he take away all sin in his Father's sight or not? Is that done, at that cross or not?
You decide and carry on in learning truth over error(s) here in this world still, God simply loves us all, so simple it has become a problem all over this world today

Jesus' sacrifice paid for all sins ever committed--past, present and future; I believe that. However, why is the core message of salvation one of confession and repentance. I mean, He paid for all my sins long before I was even born. So why did I need to confess my sin and turn to the Lord? Why does anyone ever have to do anything? By the logic that all our future sins are already forgiven, therefore we just have to accept it and be thankful, then every human on the planet is already saved and going to heaven, so why bother? Why bother with any of it?

1 John 1:9 Continual confession of sin is an indication of genuine salvation. While the false teachers would not admit their sin, the genuine Christian admitted and forsook it (Ps. 32:3–5; Prov. 28:13). The term “confess” means to say the same thing about sin as God does; to acknowledge his perspective about sin. While 1 John 1:7 is from God’s perspective, v. 9 is from the Christian’s perspective. Confession of sin characterizes genuine Christians, and God continually cleanses those who are confessing (cf. v. 7). Rather than focusing on confession for every single sin as necessary, John has especially in mind here a settled recognition and acknowledgment that one is a sinner in need of cleansing and forgiveness (Eph. 4:32; Col. 2:13).

God did it, you see it, and apparently have received it, Wow Amen
therefore, you will not go against others fro any self gain of self, will you?
Why, because you trust God to take care of you correct? Therefore there as you said there is no need, you are freed
You are in this world, not of this world as only you yourself will knew this as true between God and you. There is no need to protect you, is there?
The truth sets you free, thanking God in that happening as we all have fights here on earth.
It is not the new you in that flesh anymore once believe God. It is the spirits of evil out and about trying to enter the midst of people and deceive them into doing things of evil over stinking thinking about things happening or have happened to them
Ever been angry. Yeah watch out that is where sin enters in
Be angry but do not sin. Sin is anything without belief trust to God Father of in risen Son fro them to simply love all as God has shown us through Son on that cross, who went to death willingly gly for us to be new in his resurrected life to us

That I see the view you see, thank you
Motive is what I see anyone will be judged by God all in all
it is not what I do or have done or what might do in the future or not
God I see judges the motive behind whatever anyone does or not does
Romans 14:1-4, I stand in trust to God to straighten me and anyone else out

Yes, we are dead until God calls us back to life brother, no other way to accept the gospel my friend.

John 3:18
“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

You were already dead brother when you were born into this world but by the grace of God ONLY you are now saved!!
“Yes, we are dead until God calls us back to life brother, no other way to accept the gospel my friend.”
He has called all creatures to life and warned then of damnation already

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. ( that’s the call ) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; ( that’s how we are saved )

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”( that’s how people are damned )
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There’s nothing else to come he’s already shouted to all people . Already called sinners to repentance some refuse to listen

It's pretty easy to preach the gospel to every creature, with the knowledge we have these days. Push of a button and you can share the gospel over the internet.
