You're believing a lot of myths. CNN just got caught trying to perpetuate that narrative when Clarissa Ward discovered one of those people in a prison, who turned out to be a corrupt gov't official that Assad had imprisoned. Corruption by many gov't/military officials who were bought off by foreign money to betray Stria is what destroyed it. Assad tried to reform it but was unable. Same thing as what's happening in Ukraine. You're not close enough to the real news to know what's going on. You probably get your info from TV
And you live where?

I omitted to add, you have still not explained why hardly a Syrian was willing to defend the Assad regime. Hardly a vote of confidence.

Well what exactly happened is still murky, but it appears at this point, with what limited knowledge I have, that Syrian military leadership was bought off by foreign money and told troops to retreat. With the sanctions and theft of Syrian oil by the US there was no money to pay them so they resorted to corruption, theft and receiving bribes. I read that they were only getting paid $7, but it wasn't made clear if that was per day, week, or month.

Also from what I understand, most of the army was conscripts, so without leadership telling them what to do, an effective defense was not going to happen.

There were reports that Iran and Hezbollah offered to send troops, but Assad turned them down, for what reasons is not clear. IMO when Russia and Iran saw what was going on, they cut their losses and decided they were not going to fight if Syria wasn't going to.

So things quickly collapsed. However, thousands of Syrian soldiers fled to Iraq, have reorganized and the last I saw were being bused back into Syria in green buses lol to form a resistance.

Wrong again.
You absolutely have no idea what you are talking about.

The US helps the Kurds because they are the underdogs of the area for no fault of their own. They were made scapegoats when the Jews left for Israel.
Personally I think it might be a mistake but they are such a small player in Syria it's pathetic.

A terrorist group that fights AlQuaida and ISIS and just about everyone has gained the biggest chunk of land. Their leader has a $10 million bounty on his head.

There are other groups that have seized control over their little area. All have leftover Russian munitions. They took a 2,000 year old cannon out of the museum and fired it off at Syrian troops. (What a shame destroying it this way)

There's like 40 or 50 different local groups all wanting a piece of Syria. But Turkey, Iran, Russia and Jordan all want pieces to control. (Russia has evacuated and abandoned their soldiers and a bunch of equipment)

The US has bases there to stop violence and abuse. These guys are fired upon regularly. They take pot shots at our guys who just try to help protect civilians.

There are Christians there in Allepo and elsewhere....migrated there from Lebanon when the radicals took over.

The pain of Assad's rule is going to be long lasting.

The area known as Antioch in the book of Acts is right there....
Oh you seem to have misunderstood the situation. Many kurds living in Syria don't want to even speak arabic or be a part of the community. The only thing they care about is to separate from Syria and join other kurds in Irak and Turkey to form an own country. Israel wants to only support them so it would be division in the Syrian society.

There is a group of Syrians in South Syria that wishes to join Israel....and not be a part of Syria.

They may get their wish. They are Christians predominantly but some are Muslims.
And they are NOT Kurds.

Kurds are the Medes mentioned in Daniel. As in "Darius the Mede"...from the Medio-Persian Empire that conquered Babylonia.

Well if you saw some videos coming from Syria you would understand how miserable it was under wicked Assad's reign.
Oppression, torturing, killing, stealing even preventing people from accessing parts of the country for no reason. So he was the worst in Syrias's history. I am not defending hts but that he has fallen doesn't mean that Syria has fallen. Cause Syria has been suffering for 53 years of Assad's family and their mafias.
I am Syrian Christian and I pray thet Jesus would reign and that revival and revolution would happen as many people are broke and need the Savior.

Syria won't have a better government, after all almost their entire population are pagan. They may have a temporary era of relative peace though as it seems to me Syria is exhausted from a decade of war. I could be wrong though and they might just devolve into even more fractured sectarian in-fighting now that their primary shared enemy is gone, but I think given how fast Assad was toppled in this new offensive and how little resistance was put up that this indicates that Syria is just frankly worn out. The silver-lining for the West, particularly Europe, but also America as well, should be that now is a great time to deport all the invaders back with full justification, get them out fast and get them out en masse.
Invaders?!!! Are you a believer in Jesus? Cause you don't sound like that to me. So where were we supposed to go when it was very dangerous in our country? Oh I see stay their and get killed. Instead of calling people invaders you can pray for their salvation or maybe you are the one who needs to get saved first.

No they don't wish that. It was some people in a video and they said that. Then their relegious leader came out with an official statement that they are and will always be part of Syria. Don't believe Israeli lies cause they would do anything just to interfere in other's countries cause they think they are superior.

My friend you have misunderstood. You mentioned the kurds and I replied about them. The ones in southern Syria are muslims (druze) and as I mentioned before they don't want to join Israel.

Pure myth. Do you live there? Probably not. Assad protected Christians from the Islamist head choppers. Syria was miserable because of Ba'athist corruption, sanctions and US theft of Syrian oil. Syria was self-sufficient in energy until that happened. Assad tried to reform the corrupt Ba'athists, but failed, and supposedly almost lost his life trying to doing so. So Syria has been a corrupt cesspool for a long time and will continue to be so, which is tragic because the Syrian people are great, except for those who want Islamist rule.

Thank you so much for joining this discussion....and are willing to share what life in Syria is like.

You have better knowledge than most for this complicated situation and can help some who flat out dont understand the complexity of the various groups.

What Syria's future will be I really don't know.
I know that it's going to be difficult there for a while. I pray that the losses are small and peace comes.

There's an orchestra that plays the song "Carol of the Bells" and say it means hope during war.....I love their rendition and pray every time I hear it for peace....because I have hope because we worship the God of hope.

Yes I lived there and Assad was never our protector. He was the one kidnapping Christians, attacking churches and then saying that he was our protector. He didn't even care about his own denomination who has suffered from poverty and got decieved by him to protect his reign. My friend he is the corrupt and never tried to reform. Have you seen videos from prisons and seen videos from his luxury life. And then you say he tried to reform.

Assad's reign was built on making diiferent groups fear each others and he succeeded cause now people don't trust each other. So the miracle needed now is that Jesus would make people love each other and not get to fighting, killing and getting revenge.
Christians in Syria had no significant roles and if it was a minister he had no authority just a fake position. So what I can't be part of controlling my country but I can put a christmas tree, is that protection?

Well I would like to know more from your perspective. He absolutely did protect Christians from the head choppers, but now they're at the Islamists' mercy. Would you rather live under Assad, or Islamist rule? Sort of like being stuck between a rock and a hard place.

It's not perfect and is unjust, but is that worse than living under sharia law?

To be honest. Islamist rule until now seems to be better as they seem to be open and listen to what people are asking for. If they would keep their promices so I don't mind having them if they would respect that I am a Christian and should be part of the society (having same rights as others). I pray also for elections been held three months from now and that. What I am very sure about is that Assad never protected us. As matter of fact he had very evil mechanisms to make people think that they are been protected by him when every minority group knows that he was trying to diminish their roles in the Syrian society. When it comes to Christians many attacks against Christians were by Assad or because of him. He wanted always to make it about terrorists and him protecting people from terrorists where there were civilians getting killed just because they opposed him. And he tried to show that minorities are on his side when everybody knows that many Christians left cause we didn't want to be part of killing or to be killed. So just that many Christians were silent didn't mean that they were happy with Assad.
