Can you get into natural light, sunlight at all - maybe your garden or by a window for an hour a day? Also for fresh air. A walk ideally daily for half an hour would do you good.

I definitely need to! Our weather is so awful here, although spring is trying to make a come back now. Definitely too cold for a garden. Wind chill Temps were 7 F on Monday and today was 50. 😆 so surprisingly (or not) I feel really good today.

Some natural light and fresh air is I believe essential daily, it puts everything right somehow. Taking vitamin D and other supplements can really help, along with fresh fruits and vegs, living foods. Our physical health is so connected to our mental wellbeing.

I am glad you are feeling good today. Where do you live?

Well it's worked wonders for me, since I feel a strength and vitality returning big time. I had not realised I stay indoors too much, so I must have lacked sunlight.

This is only my view, I have not had specific tests.
I take one vitamin D tablet a day, not any megadoses. It took about a month before I realised I felt better.

Wow thank you MaryM I wondered why I feel happier about myself, when our daily news is tring to make us feel sadder, (makes me look like a sadist)
it is the Vitamin D3+K+K2 supplements I got into since the start of 2020, and I was thinking it was something else.
There is a suggested amount of Vitamin D to take per body weight, it is about 5,000 IU for average man.
There are calculators and more on internet, just how reliable the information is, would be hard to say.
 
Certainly I feel much better than a year ago. Now I ensure all my family take vitamin D daily.

Yes, I take 10,000 a day and sit in the sun as much as possible.

My skin has improved considerably along with my mood.

It's great you have good results.
I would advise checking the amount you are taking perhaps as it may be rather a lot? Above certain levels it will be toxic.

Yes that is true, I do test 2x a year and I am typically on the higher end, although not ever have I tested over the recommended levels.

I live in the North East it is a very cloudy region.

A functional doctor started me on D3 about 8 years ago. I take it every day. He said something about the D3 molecule activating 20-some areas on our cells with 13 of them dealing with healing and regeneration. Here in gloomy and grey Ohio it's difficult to get sunshine especially in winter.

This I can believe, it has definitely restored me.

Vitamin D is also a hormone; hormones help control how cells and organs function. :)

I did not know that. Thankyou. All I know is my well-being has returned by correcting this deficiency. It is essential to remember that we help ourselves a great deal to maintain health.

Yeah, it is not something you hear about very often, is it? But the Christian talk radio station
I listen to has health-related infomercials on Saturday; that's where I first heard that...

So, my question is vitamin D alone, or in a multi vitamin?
I really don't like taking pills (even vitamins), and can't stand the taste/texture of gummies (my husband and kids don't think gummies are the best. When we had them on melatonin gummy form hubs and kids all said they could tell a difference when we ran out had to use pill form one night. The pills worked for all of them better than the gummies.)
About a year (maybe 2) ago I was making myself take a multi vitamin and what a huge difference it made! But it was a granddaddy of a horsepill, I hated swallowing (but made myself). But when it came time to get more, I learned the formula was changed and the reviews went down significantly so I stopped buying it, and have yet to find a multi I would be happy with (budget friendly and readily available in store, I'm not an online shopping fan).
My recent blood test came back good for everything the Dr was looking for/at, except he said my D levels are low and recommended taking a D supplement.

As far as light goes, I have heard a lot of positive things about "happy light therapy". Not that it increases D levels, but that the light therapy can increase serotonin, boosting a feel good mood.

I would suggest Quest super once a day if you can get it where you live. It is also available online.
It may look a bit expensive but when you compare the dosages given to something like Centrum
you get a lot more for your money. A half a year's supply may be something like forty dollars?
Although I was a bit surprised that Quest does not have Molybdenum while Centrum does LOL

Thanks for the heads up. Size looks similar to the one I used to take, and oh I forgot about the smell. It had a horrible smell (but I'm so use to coated capsules).

I know what you mean about the smell ... I believe that comes from vitamin B... when I first started taking vitamins like that (good ones) and I would open the bottle, the smell would almost make me retch, but after a while it was like Pavlov's dog heehee I would open the bottle and the smell would make me salivate LOL so your body can get used to and come to recognize what it knows is good for it.

Beta carotene, (which converts to Vit A), is good to take with D3 for absorption. Also eat an avocado, meat or any good fat with it.

You probably already know, but think orange colored veggies or carrots for beta carrot-ene.
